If I unlock idiot savant whilst having 4 INT (just for hacking) will the Luck perk still be useful for me? or is 4 too high?
With mods for consoles, I'm sure we'll be seeing a really detailed Hardcore mode for all platforms before too long.

seriously though- game looks great-and I only played on PS4
South of North America.Where is south america?
Oh man i could never do that. I love VATS too much for that. Slaughtering a baddie in slowmo with VATS is just so satisfying.
Huh thats a problem I think I need to learn those timezones.South of North America.
I assume unlock will correspond to the time zones of NA.
Oh that's right that's a thing.
My only two wants for the story is that they don't force me to be a "good guy" and let me join the Institute (screw the synthetics!) and that Bethesda doesn't pull the cliché "Surprise" you are a synthetic or have been playing as a synthetic all along!
So how many points do you have at the start?
I would imagine a twist like that would be a pretty big fuck you to everyone who wants to roleplay a bunch of different characters.
They'll probably more or less force you to be a good guy. Hope not, but we'll see.

Beating a dead horse here, but the wait is literally killing me. I think I've spent more time F5'ing this thread than I have been doing actual work this week.
Bsigg12 - Are you seeing a good amount of armor/outfit options so far? I'm hoping to wander the wasteland in style. Also, thank you for all the info. so far! Its made the wait much more bearable.
Why does the generator operate with 28?

I know it's a typical Bethesda template for them to Force the "Good Guy" role on us but I really enjoyed how Obsidian gave me the option to join Caesar's Legion instead of forcing me to join the NCR or Brotherhood of Steel.I would imagine a twist like that would be a pretty big fuck you to everyone who wants to roleplay a bunch of different characters.

Yes, and the mod system allows you to really build some strong weapons and armor.

So I hope I'm given the option to do so even if it doesn't become canon.
Hail Caesar!

Damnit, preload from gmg for $48, or go with a phyiscal BB copy for $48 + 10 credit...im so indecisive lol
PC Physical doesn't have full 30GB game on disc(s)! If you take physical PC copy be sure you want to spend time downloading ~20+ GB of data on 10th.

The consequence of the PC Game Market never adopting Blue Ray and I would hate to be a Physical game Collector on PC.This is the one thing that's annoyed me about the Pip-Boy edition. There's no way the entire game will be in the box, so it's going to be a couple of hours downloading on release day after work![]()
I know, that's what is making it a difficult choice, if I could just install the game and do a small patch, I'd happily save the $10. I'm now trying to hold out for a 23% discount email from gmg that others in this thread have gotten (signed up with a new email yesterday lol)

Posted this in the trailer thread, figured folks here might have an answer:
I'm wondering how much of an RPG this is without skills. Is it just all perk reliant? How does weapon handling work? I'd assume now you'd be able to use regular guns just as easily as energy weapons and what not.
The actual character progression seems even more streamlined than Skyrim.
As a fallout noob I have a question.
Are there only 7 bobbleheads? One for each special? If so I guess you should only put 9 points in something your interest in because 10 is the MAX?
It is all handled in Perks and SPECIAL. Perks are basically expanded to do double duty and carry the effects of Skills and the older Perk system and most of them have 3-5 ranks, though. So for example Big Leagues is still going to make you do double damage with melee weapons and give you special attack bonuses like random disarms, limb cripples or decapitations once you max it out. Much like Fallout 3 or New Vegas, it is possible to specialize in more than one weapon type if you want but it is going to be very costly resource-wise.
So you should decide what weapon you use right away? And not deviate from it? What are my choices?
To those ordering the collector's guide from Amazon, I got an email maybe an hour ago saying that the collector's guide now has release date delivery and that mine has been upgraded free of charge (if you're a prime member). So yeah. If you were considering buying it but were holding off on it, now's the time.
And I really REALLY would recommend buying it for big rpgs like this. For the Witcher 3 that guide was a godsend. It pointed to me where all of the armor schematics I wanted were, gave you a recommended order to do quests, points you to cool locations, etc. Not to mention chances are there's a more visually appealing map of the world instead of having to look at the pipboy map with its simple graphics lol.
So you should decide what weapon you use right away? And not deviate from it? What are my choices?
From what I've seen, everything you scavenge breaks down into base materials that are used for both settlement building and crafting/modding.Are the settlement materials different than the modding materials? Like should you go scavenger perks if you plan on building lots of settlements?
