I know im asking questions like mad but here goes

Should I STOP adding points to my SPECIAL one perk before the one I want to end up at? so that I can find the one bobble head that gives a permanent +1 attribute point?

I mean lets say if I really like night person in perception, I should not initially get that perk but rather stop at demo expert?

If you wanna go looking for bobbleheads early in the game, then go for it.

Nothing of relevance to me tho, since I plan on building a single mega-city, with two huge building complexes, stores, defenses etc which will also include a big ass tower from which I will sniper the shit out of any attacker. Next to it on the top, I will park my power armor and go wreck havoc once they breach the walls. Will use the power armor solely for that purpose. It will be glorious.

I have drawn a crude layout of how it will look:

LOL. You always redeem yourselves GAF.

We do know the exact location of one bobblehead, though, and it's pretty early in the game.
In the building where you first talk to Preston Garvey there is a +1 Perception bobblehead

No you didn't. I don't think I ever heard anyone say that.

Let's hope Bethesda doesn't see your post.

Well I have to agree with him on that. I liked that look too. Don't get me wrong, I love the there's actually colour now, but a good mix of the two is what I hope for. That F3 look makes it all seem like a hopeless and bleak situation, which it definitely is. It just shouldn't always look like that though, just like it shouldn't always be full of colours.

At least with the dog you won't have an idiot saying you're always on your good behavior for every 5 seconds or so.

My guess is that she was actively trying to initiate a conversation with the player and the beginning part kept getting redone as the player left and entered whatever radius.

I think I'm going with this for a 'Jack of all Trades' build. Only attribute I can see changing by the time of release is Charisma, and that's only if Speech doesn't impact dialogue choices significantly.

Here's the thing. It's a big game. You may not ever find the bobblehead you want without using a guide. You should just put the points in and if you find the bobblehead, think of it as a nice bonus.

Or alternatively just look up on where to find the bobblehead.

But yeah, if you are planning on just finding them without looking up spoilers on where they are, probably just put the points in and think of the bobblehead as a nice bonus. I plan on doing that unless I cave but not as fun finding a bobblehead if you look up where to find it (I'll cave if I decide I want them all and just give up looking. Other than that I'll just find them as I explore).

Although why people would want a companion hanging around while exploring games like Fallout 4 is beyond me. Totally kills the immersion and the presence of an unpredictable AI support can screw you of your plan (like stealthing stuff up, for example)

Well I want the dog cause I like the idea of exploring the wasteland with a familiar. As for a people one? Only cause I suck at the game and need backup ;). But yes, for stealthing they do kinda ruin it (or at least in 3 Fawkes did cause soon as he sensed any enemy he'd go running up to kill them. I started taking to asking him to stay when I saw an enemy ahead and then sneaking up ahead on my own).

It bothers me too much to not be able to use a specific perk I have for my planned build because it's a perk WAY too high up in the specific SPECIAL (ie as a stealth guy I want the ninja perk). So first chance I get I'm finding every bobblehead with my guide. If it's an area with high level enemies lord have mercy on my soul I'm going in and saving like a mofo lol

I would plan with the PER bobblehead in mind, as I heard you can find it quite early in the game. Otherwise, I will treat them as bonus as well.

You can always just increase your SPECIAL attributes whenever you level up guys.
That's inefficient! Tho, I have planned for my first SPECIAL increase on Level 14, but seeing that I can get an INT bobble head, it postpones it to level 21, when I will level 3 CHA to get local leader. If I plan with 6 bobbleheads (INT, CHA, END, + STR, AGI, LUC) from which I would decrease my initial SPECIALS by 1), I actually don't need to increase my SPECIALS at all throughout the whole game.

I guess maybe the way I'm planning to play this game is the wrong one.

I will not worry myself about "builds", just do whatever that strikes my fancy at any particular point and work on that, hahaha. I will also not look for any bobbleheads' location and build my character in anticipation that I will find bobblehead if I go here or if I go there... Just gonna do whatever, lol.

How early can we find these bobbleheads?
Quite early. The PER bobblehead is somewhere around the very beginning of the game. The INT bobblehead location is also already known, so I just need to make my way there before level 14. Same for the CHA bobblehead, which is also already known. I don't think any SPECIAL bobblehead is inaccessible.

That's how go in. Fresh. A young stud trying to make it in the world and spec what he has to when the job needs doing.

Honestly I think that's the right way to play it :). Or at least with Bethesda games the way that is most fun.

Maybe the guide will give insight as to how many points you want to have minimum in each stat to not hinder yourself in the game. I know I don't care much for the Luck area, but I'm putting in 3 points in case it means getting crit all the time or something.

Bethesda games are actually one of the only games where you shouldn't go in without a crude plan on what to focus as your starting attributes determine EVERYTHING. In Fallout 4 it's a lot more lenient since you can spec SPECIAL, but in previous Fallout games, Oblivion etc it meant everything.

Hmm, thinking I'll wait for Black Friday and hope some place is bundling Fallout 4 with a PS4. I mean there's apparently a Dell bundle that has it with the Xbox.
I'll probably just wait for the GoTY Edition to get it on PC.

okay i'm sick and tired of threads on the net saying that it takes 10 minutes to run across the world in Fallout 4 when it takes # to run across the world in [game].

Is there a world map for f4 out yet?

Cool, quite early it seems.
But I guess I'm not going to hunt them from the start, so I'll go with this build.

It's not bad, actually. It's just you know, the internet.

Didn't really hit me until I saw the build maker how hard it is for me to make a character. The perk placement seems really well balanced as it's a pain in the ass for me to stretch the special stats far enough.

I definitely want lockpicking/hacking but it looks like I'll have to drop strength down, even though I want it for the strong back perk as I am a massive hoarder.

With the exception of the PER bobblehead, I wouldn't plan them either - at least for early levels. I don't want to lower my PER tho, as it increases VATS hit chance, which is a nice bonus for my long range ninja crit shots. Also makes it easier to access penetrator or concentrated fire or Sniper if I so desire at some point. I think level 14 should be long enough until I will make my way to the INT one in that particular location.

Thanks bunches. Any of ya'll know if they do anything with all that water?

Yeah, there'll be underwater exploration and dungeons.

I was originally going to go with sniper build, but I love my assault rifles as well.
Decisions.

No wrong way to play it. Why bother trying to pre-plan everything? Best part about these games is just exploring and experiencing things in stride. Upgrading what seems cool

There is a scar / bruise option in the character creator?

Spoiler: Screenshot of scars + bruises set to maximum combined:

That's very nasty looking, holy shit.

Those scars should really be cultivated during the course of the game, like the tears in Batman's cape in the Arkham games.

But can you imagine the complaints of the folks who just want to play as busty, blemish-free supermodels?
