Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

Finally got around to finishing my 10 placement matches in arena and have confirmed what I already suspected, I'm pretty crap at Halo multiplayer, haha. Got put in silver and I definitely feel like that is where I belong.

The good thing is now that I am being placed in matches more suited to my skill level arena has become insanely fun. Honestly thought that Warzone was going to be my go to mode in this game but arena is just so good. Anyone have some good tips for scoring points in warzone? Just try to focus on taking out the enemy AI that shows up? I see people that are scoring around 1000 points by the end of the game and I'm usually sitting somewhere around 300-400, would definitely like to be able to contribute more to my team.
If you don't kill bosses you won't get many points no matter how many kills you get. Even just taking down the mini bosses like the knights and elites will put you near the top. Depending on the map if you get in a ghost you can just splatter some of them easily.

I hope for Warzone they consider fixing the base indicators. It sucks that you can't see the status of bases as in are they being invaded or not while waiting for spawning. also weird that unless you are directly looking at the base you can't tell. And finally, how come all bases aren't shown? Why do I have to be a certain distance from the base to see if it's being invaded?
war zone would benefit from a tiny overhead map showing capture colours on the hud

Okay, so I should be buying bronze packs now? I thought silver was the way to go?

the odds of getting certs in bronze is higher than saving up for the other packs. the certs for power ups and weapons are key to getting more variety in drops when buying the more expensive packs. you'll also unlock lower tier outfit options. then once you've unlcoked quite a bit at the bronze level, you can adjust to silver and gold and while using those packs to unlock the more rare items, you'll get more drops than just mongoose and warthogs and lower tier power weapons. you need the certs to get a better chance at unlocking better things.

Sounds like the frequency with which you can purchase Reqs outweighs the fact that you aren't guarunteed permanent items.

I sounds like you should focus your points on bronze, then silver, then gold as you because once you've gotten the common permanents, the silver and gold packs be limited to giving you less common permanents...

Something is definitely up with the radar. People aren't showing up when they are well within the range and they aren't crouching.

Agree with Invisibility. Although, I enjoy using it to turn the tide when it is 1 v 3. Invisibility + Shotgun = OP.

Nah I like the invis and the power weapons. It adds another layer of complexity haha. I definitely understand the dislike though...

Never!

If they're going to leave it in they really need to put on a "shoot-a-way" platform like they did on rig... save for if someone shoots it the invis is gone and doesnt respawn that round... doesn't just fall below. Basically shooting it to disable it.

Bronze has been pretty good so far in my experience, especially for getting a bunch of the common unlocks out of the way. You can get 4 of them for the price of 1 silver, so you may even end up with more permanent unlocks for the price than you would have in the silver. It'll eventually make sense to move up to silver and then gold though, as you start to narrow down the list of common unlocks that you still need.

Try alternating bronze and silver, maybe. Rotate to the other tier for every 5,000 you spend, etc. Has been working well for me.

gotta say i expected those playlist changes to come much later, makes me almost pumped for the weekly update this week. hopefully theres some serious news in there

Anyone who has completed mission 4...
seriously all you do is talk to 3/4 miners?! How is that a mission?!

Some mild mission spoilers:
There are two more missions like this. I enjoy the change of pace to be honest, it helps build a more fleshed out world. Also finding intel in those missions is pretty easy and fun.

Is there a way to set your loadouts based on your level in Warzone matches?

If not there really needs to be, have so many different kinds of AR's and BR's that it is a pain to look over them before spawning.

wonder if a spawn timer would work well, like no power ups for the first 30 seconds each round.

yeah that would be nice too. wading through them just wastes time. like, if I want to use a specific one just let me adjust my loadout so I can get it automatically once I hit the level. I bet this never shows up though.

I just think it really disrupts what made Breakout so cool in the Beta and on select maps right now. EVERYONE rushes the damn invis... half both teams die then one guy with invisibility sneaks someplace and wrecks shit on the remaining team... or hides and flag needs to be taken. IDK... it felt SOO much better to me before when it was just one grenade, pistol, smg, few map BR/DMR/Shotguns and no shields. It was... pure.

There is a ton of risk involved in having everyone rush invis... I think better teams will come up with better strategies around it...

I liked the idea but wish they at least gave you a little quest to do. Seemed liked they had grander ideas but ran out of time to implement them.

That and I would like to be able to just sell all my mongoose or any other cards I don't want at once.

Unless I'm somehow completely missing something, isn't camo only on a whopping total of one map? And on that map it's in sight line of the DMR towers. You're not wrong that it can allow for comebacks for a team that grabs it and manages to live, but that's why you just do your best to make sure if they grab it first they don't live. Just seems like an odd complaint to levy against the entire mode when that's just one of five maps.

I wish. I have one armor mod at the moment. I keep forgetting to apply it though. It's a pain.

While I would have liked more objectives I really appreciate the non-combat missions, and would love for more sequences like that in future games.

Also,
Goal Goal GOAAAAAAALLLL

...

And come on, in the pantheon of ugly helmets, "beer cans strapped to the sides" is at the very least no more offensive than "I stuck a Game Boy to my helmet" or the "I see out of this tiny hole" Gungnir.

I think that bronze might also be weighted to have more permanent unlocks for weapon certs before cosmetics unlocks. which is super helpful in succeeding in Warzone

I am SR23 and have been buying bronze packs since about SR13 before that was gold.
here is what I have left for common permanent unlocks
2/10 weapon certs,
7/11 vehicle certs,
10/20 loadouts
44/69 cosmetic (its even counting emblems already unlocked at launch)

I liked the change of pace too but it could have been part of another mission. You can literally complete it in 5 minutes if you wanted to.

I didn't see an outcry to remove Fathom from Slayer. Did they give a reason for this? Perhaps just to keep the map count an even number...?

Wait... what?! Man you need to come play with us. Shit gets crazy! lol But to each his/her own. Some people never liked no-respawn modes or search and destroy etc.
I like no respawn gametypes a lot, but Breakout is an abomination. I don't there's a way to really make it work well in Halo.

It just ruins the mechanics of what was a simpler, mechanic. It really changes the way that map would play. One team always sends at least one player up to get it... because it's so powerful. You pretty much have to or that invis guy on the other team has a guaranteed 2+ kills under him (if he's even a little bit decent".

It's like adding a paint RPG missile to a normal game of Speedball (which is what breakout was modeled after).

I'm not disagreeing that it might be overly powerful in Breakout. I just think it's a bit much to lambast the entire mode for as decision on one map that if you plan ahead for can be countered more often than not.

What's really awesome about this update is that 343 aren't just responding to the community by removing Orion and calling it a day. They are gonna take it out, change, modify, and fix it and then re-release it into the rotation. That's exciting and makes me less worried about future maps that may not at first work out.
