How much water is in this game?

I'm trying not to look at the map or get any major spoilers but I want to know if building up endurance is worth it for the swimming perks.

People getting their codes are like

Ok.. never played a Fallout game before but how is water exploration in the previous games? Is there legetimate things to find and unlock underwater?

It hasn't been a thing in previous Fallout games, and it won't be easy in FO4 as one can assume water to be full of radiation. Rads are bad, very bad.

It's never previously been a thing. Unless I was doing it wrong, it seems like most bodies of water in Fallout are just environmental hazards.

Got'cha.. So I take it building up endurance for the swimming perks would be a waste of S.P.E.C.I.A.L points.

Thanks for the replies.

Yep key is in the games section on gmg. Knowing that I still can't play the game for another 65h 15min is maddening. D:

Well it stands to reason that including a perk such as that and the fact that a good deal of the map has water and Boston and the NE have a nautical history and close relationship with the ocean and coastal waters that it will be a larger aspect in this game than in previous ones. So at this point it's not clear if it's a waste or not, but I'm willing to bet they wouldn't put in a Perk for water breathing if it wasn't at least somewhat useful and rewarding.

Strength: 1
Perception: 4
Endurance: 1
Charisma: 5
Intelligence: 4
Agility: 7
Luck: 6

I like playing stealthy/crit builds so high Agility and Luck seems to work best, points in Perception and Intelligence for the lockpicking/hacking.

Bonus points in Charisma for non-violent ways out of situations and because Animal Friend sounds too fucking cool to resist.

Very close to my build, I want life giver so I have -1 on A and L.

I've also knocked a point off for P due to it being very easy to find that particular bobble head though I do love lock picking.

7/7 is what makes the build. -1 A/L means the entire world. I'm not sure lifegiver is needed so early.

Question about SPECIAL skills. With higher INT, you get more EXP. Does any other SPECIAL perk give something to this effect, aside from the actual perks themselves?

Because from what I understand, even if you only have one perk in INT, if you have 8 SPECIAL points in INT you get more XP than if you had, say, 3 points in it. Is that the only stat that works like that? The others seem to just be perks that unlock, not some behind-the-scenes EXP multiplier.

Hope I worded this correctly.

Endurance 5 is your friend. I doubt there would be perk like that if there wasn't something worthwhile in water.

Sigh... ok... I was actually thinking the points you two made last night which led me to ask my original question.

Yeah I'm thinking of switching up my build again because I hate struggling on something like underwater exploration.

Thanks for the input.

Got nervous that people were getting their GMG codes and I hadn't yet. Then as if they sensed my fears the code arrived. Remoted into my computer at home and popped in the Steam key. Yay, no more stress, just waiting.

Hopefully my name (Levi) works. Seems hit and miss with this sort of thing. Although, if they recorded the names Balls and John Cena then surely they can accommodate me.

Hope there's a list of every single voiced name in the game files or something. I've never much cared about my character's name (last NV playthrough was something childish along the lines of " *myname* The Dick smasher") but if there's a possibility of hearing it in-game, it could be nice to have. I just don't want a boring name, like... Paul, or Steve (sorry Pauls and Steves!)
