And cities?

On that I have no idea. I stopped watching streamers when they approached first large city. I would assume loading screen because you get loading screen for a lot smaller things.

I'm guessing 60 is if I'm using fast travel?

Yeah, and even then it's affected by distance you are fast traveling, Further distance between points => longer loading time.

Just impression I got from vids and such.

got the xbox one version.. it has a day one pacth around 531 mb

will give impressions after playing for a while

Hate you, but will love you again after you post detailed impressions.

Spoiler tag the answer s but I wanted to ask. Do legendary enemies only apply to creatures(legendary raiders/super mutant s etc.), can you kill main quest npcs or just knock out(guessing the latter), and are there still unique guns (or parts now I guess)?

Yep, it has. When loading into larger interiors and/or doing fast travel. Load times are between 10 seconds and 60 seconds depending what you are loading.

Ah okay that's not too egregious I suppose. Shouldn't be too much of an issue with an SSD. Funny though, given that I don't remember The Witcher 3 having any loading screens outside of fast travel.

Oh boy, the building feature is awesome. I've found a gas station and transform it into a fortress with steel walls and shit. Will be my main camp for now.

I can see me losing hours only building something nice.

Also found
the military armor with a machine gun. You get an alternate HUD like something from Metroid prime like with a vision. Awesome.

You have the PS4 version right ?

How is the game technically

Debating whether to get this or not. Just finished NV + DLC for the first time (first Fallout) and rather enjoyed it. However hated Oblivion and Skyrim so not sure. Plus Battlefront will be sucking up my time.

That has actually become the norm for open world games. The hard break between areas that these games have was really what I was hoping they took care of with the extra resources they now have with the baseline hardware.

That's what several people have said so I guess it's accurate, but it seems pretty excessive to me. I don't recall load times that long with Fallout 3 or New Vegas on PS3. Not counting times the game glitched and got stuck on a loading screen.

I assume those loading times are for consoles right? SSD's will still do it in second I hope.

PC streamer also had quite long loading times, but then I don't know if he was on SSD or HDD. I so hope he was on HDD and not SSD, if he was on SSD then HDD crowd is in for rough times.

Witcher 3 had loading screen when
  • Loading up save game
  • Fast travel
  • Death
  • Moving between major regions [Velen => Skellige, as e.g.]
That is basically nothing for game of that scale and looks.

I hate it when people ask this before a game comes out, but I'm going to ask is before this game comes out:

Any tangible graphical differences between the console versions? I normally get the One's version of multis because of the controller and a few other factors, but I want the prettiest version possible.

Someone tell me to go fuck myself for asking a stupid question.

I've been playing the PS4 version for almost 10 hours now, and even though I might be a little bit on thin ice here, I definitely feel Fallout 4 runs better than vanilla Skyrim 360 version. During my 10 hours play I've only encounter some minor bugs/glitches, mostly around and in Diamond City.

Might aswell just share my impressions (~3 hours, Ps4, played all previous games) aswell.

First of all... fuck all that graphics hyperbole. Yes the game doesnt set the bar for visual fidelity, but it has a very unique and pretty artstyle. The game has a very crisp picture quality on PS4, although the view distance is clearly shorter than PC screenshots indicated, and the coloration is really pretty at times. I did notice a couple random Fps drops to the low 20s, but that happened mainly when transitioning between buildings and opens world or on random occasions.

Gameplay wise it feels alot more action oriented and even more consolized than Fallout 3. The Interface is more or less the same from what we knew, apart from the Dialogue system which has been made more simple, but still grants enough options and choices. You get alot of ammo early on, so dont expect shortage there (so far). It feels abit like a Mass Effect 1 -> 2 kind of development.
That said, the addiction kicked in instantly.. all of your beloved Fallout moments are there. Weird characters, interesting quests, LOADS of items etc etc. Especially the possiblity to wander around and randomly discover something interesting or powerful kept me from putting the controller aside.

Thats my early impressions so far.
.

Any impressions on how useful the weapon and armor crafting skills are? Was thinking of going down the strength tree just for armor customization even though I'm going primarily Agility and Luck.

SSD will definitely be faster, but certainly not in a few seconds. Probably 25-50% faster at most.

Skyrim was that big of a difference, esp with mods. I remember not knowing I could rotate the items on the loading menu until I pushed the game over to my HDD. The screen never stayed up long enough for me to do much.

From what I've seen over in some X1 streams, and having the PS4 version myself, there don't seem to be any major differences.

Yeah.
Wasted so much time already building stuff.
It's pretty smooth and not that complicated, with enough options to provide enough variety so far.

Other things to note.
I said it yesterday, there are alot of songs from the old OST.
Licensed stuff that everyone knows from F3.
There is also a classic radio which I haven't used for more than 2 songs.

One more negative point that popped up, it's way too easy to carry around alot of stuff.
With the power armor you can carry more and your companions can carry so much stuff....I never had to travel back so far and stop my looting.
Oh and I really hope you don't find these power armors so easy anymore.
Already got 2 and it's a bit to easy with them.

Hahaha, looks like I got spoiled too. Saw a weapon modding screenshot, and the listed available mods for the weapon actually spelled out the ending.

It made me realize how little I care about the story (hell, I'm more interested now), just here to point out that apparently some people have so much time on their hands that y'all better be careful even with screenshots of the game.

Now where's that spoiler thread? I want to confirm if it's the same thing everyone else's seen

If you liked NV and its DLC, you probably will enjoy Fallout 4.
Besides following the same structure, Elder Scrolls is quite a different game. I do enjoy both, but I prefer Fallout aswell.

Is this one of thr highest leaked gameplay threads 10k posts dam

This is so funny to me. Normally, where I live, people are very strict about when to sell the games. If you're lucky, you get one copy the evening before the game releases.

Fallout 4 is fucking everywhere. Even Gamestop is selling it. Holy crap.

Wait GameStop is breaking the street date? I have been playing black ops I'm out of the loop.

Once my keys come through ill be doing a fallout 4 pc steam giveaway :D, preferably to someone having a rough time fo it at the moment and needs a pick me up

Yes mate. Got email a couple of hours ago.

Sorry for spam but for some reason my phone will not copy and paste on this site :-/

Could you be total bro and screencap that email [just blackout key + personal info] and PM it to me?

Edit: I just want give friend some leverage so he can get key early too ^^

Edit2: nvm, apparently cdkeys has started deliveries

I think I got something spoiled for me the other day and I was more annoyed that people still find that funny.

This is the first big release of the year for me which I have not been able to get early. I got Bloodborne, Witcher 3 and MGSV all around 3-4 days early... Guess they finally caught on. :(

Yep.
Ordered from a shop who is usually sending stuff pretty early around, was kinda suprised to see that Gamestop and the bigger chains like MediaMarkt and Saturn are also breaking the street date in Germany.

Reused songs from the old OST wtf?

Alot of songs you already heard on Galaxy News Radio in F3.
New songs are great.
