Wow someone just spoiled the fallout 4 ending on a swiss facebook "geek" group.
Oh well. Spoiled him the mockingjay 2 ending via pm.

It's relatively safe. You might get the occasional in-game image with no context from people playing it already, but any big spoilers have been moved to the spoiler thread.

Not really. Only companions we have seen so far are the dog and Piper.

Actually the companion info is all out there and I believe somebody posted it in this very thread with spoiler tags two days or so ago. I don't have the links though because I don't want to know.

DO we have any info on companions ie what they look like and where they can be found? Spoiler tags of course.

Plus any info on Survival difficulty.

Man I cannot wait for Tuesday!

Only ones I found so far are
Dogmeat of course and Codsworth (your Robot)

Just want to confirm, can we discuss builds? I have some thoughts I would like to discuss but I'm not sure if it is appropriate here anymore. A lot of information is out about playstyles (not gameplay spoiler just how certain weapons or builds handle in game) and I would like to know others' opinions.

Builds are totally fine.

Slight early gameplay spoiler.
Do you choose only once your SPECIALS with the guy at the beginning? Are those choices permanent? I'm asking because I still could start a new game.

we know the names of companions and what skill/bonus they bring but we haven't seen what they look like or where to find them.

edit: no wait nvm. The fallout 4 wiki has images, some of them blurry, showing you what companions look like.

I think you get another chance to choose your stats and appearance just before you leave the vault like in Fallout 3

No you can level up your SPECIALS at every level like a perk. You either can level up a perk or a SPECIAL. That's actually strange in my opinion. So you can 10/10 them all

if someone openly put spoilers in here without a tag they would be destroyed

excellent to know, thank you. happy to contribute to the decimation.

No because there are still some "people" who think they can post ingame screens of the game and complain how bad it looks despite it being a spoiler (even if they don't count it as one...it still is a spoiler.)

not too worried about screenshots. i'm just lucky to not have stumbled into any type of major story spoilers yet (ending...sorry to those of you that did).

MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR COMPANIONS BEHIND THE LINK http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_4_companions

You legend, thanks for this.

This kind of makes sense, you can technically 'train' your strength or perception over time, from a RPG point of view anyway. Then again increasing Luck makes no sense haha

so i played for around 3 hours.. ill talk about the game with some pictures to show some neat features.. it is all spoiler free game play wise and story wise.. never the less ill spoiler tag just in case ..

first of all the game has built in button mapping

319971606.jpg

the character creation system
is vastly superior to any other BGS game i spent 10 minutes tweaking my character which is a lot for me i usually just change hair style but . i adjusted the size of nose and lips and eyes etc.. its extremely easy and accessible.. i would say the only negative would be the lack of many hairstyles, for females at least didn't use the male version.. here is a pic of my female character :

game play wise
the gun play is much more fun and responsive than fallout 3 or nv i found myself relaying much less on vats which for me is an improvement and the weapons are actually fun to use specially the mini gun.. plus using a power armor does changes the game play and makes you a tank its not just another cloths to wear.. speaking of cloths you can now attach small armor pieces to some cloths like your vault uniform which i thought was a nice little touch. its these small changes that made me fall in love with the game instantly.. its like they took every small little thing that made fallout 3 fun and they improved on it. here are some other spoiler free pics :

power armor :

vault 111 uniform with
armor pieces

All in all.. this is more falllout.. much improved fallout.. i loved fallout 3 and nv and fell in love with this instantly.. feel free to ask me anything

Answer may be a spoiler, but 3 hours in and you already have a minigun and power armor?

How useful are the crafting perks (weapons, armors and so on) ?

I haven't spent enough time in that area unfortunately. I've crafted some minor improvements to my weapons but nothing major yet. But I read somewhere that those perks are definitely worth it.

Yes. And I found that to be very strange

Gear spoilers:
It's not that weird honestly. It's explained in a mission why you need it and then after that while exploring you'll find Power Armor in some strange places. I found a set at the bottom of a lake for example.

you can get it even earlier if you just follow the markers once you leave the vault. Its like an on/off switch, no training required. It's weird, but it helps at that point with the situation happening.

NOOOOO!!! I accidentally clicked the spoiler thread and didnt realize i was in there and i think i just spoiled the ending :(( why god, why??
i accidentally clicked it too. I read something that may have been a spoiler but I'm not quite sure. It was someone asking if they were spoiled so I might be good lol

Played 2 hours on Xbox One. The pacing is odd somehow but it's Fallout. So far, the dialogue system is not that bad imho. Graphics are nice if you don't look too far. Framerate seems stable. I'm already out of stimpaks and ammo and don't know where to find new. lol

The power armor uses power cells now so you can't just run around with it everywhere. I think the minigun is only usable in the power armor too. And even with the power armor and minigun you barely manage to take down a Deathclaw

Ah OK, that makes more sense.

Just gotta be searching everything. I have 73 stimpacks in my inventory right now and hundreds of each type of rounds.

You can use any gun in the power armor and the minigun can be used without it.

Smart-Ass(assin)

This build focus on having high charisma for dialogue and intimidation as well as high intellect for chemical use (this syngerizes with endurance for no chem addiction) and weapon mods. Later on in this build I will start spec'ing in more stealth options in the agility special tree, but early game it is not worth it especially with the way mobs sometime appear, stopping you from being able to stealthy approach a quest. Also I put points into strength so that I could craft my own armor mods.

Lastly I decided to have 4 points into endurance to get to aquaboy (also good for exploration). Once I decide to focus more on stealth I believe the map will have a good amount of water that I could utilize to "vanish" from enemies only to return in a more stealthy approach.

My special breakdown factors in that I will hunt bobbleheads early on in the game (so you will see some special branches 1 point away from the perks I may refer to). This build is about taking advantage of early play while preparing for end game fights.

I would also utilize certain chemicals that can raise intelligence so I can receive more XP before finishing a questline.

STR 2 | PER 3 | END 4 | CHA 9 | INT 6 | AGI 2 | LUCK 2

Assuming that I will have all the bobbleheads by level 20 I am predicting my level choices to look like:

2. V.A.N.S
3. Pickpocket (1)
4. Locksmith (1)
5. Hacker (1)
6. Lone Wanderer (1)
7. Chem Resistant (1)
8. Gun Nut (1)
9. Gunslinger (1)
10. Medic (1)
11. Chem Resistant (2)
12. Chemist (1)
13. Lone Wanderer (2)
14. Aqua Boy (1)
15. Aqua Boy (2)
16. Armorer (1)
17. Armoer (2)
18. Gun Nut (2)
19. Intimidation (1)
20. Local Leader (1)

At first I was set on having a sneaky sniper build but from what everyone has been sharing sneaking isn't really viable for early on and stealth sniper is not worth the hassle since sniper only gives you a boost in VATS.

I would love feedback on this build. I am expecting that getting to level 20 would probably be close to 50% completion. But

Please tell me you have taken notes on what those Bobbleheads were and where you found them / marked on the map?

I have them on a stand so I can always take a look.

Spoilers on where to find them:

All of the Bobbleheads I have found have been in mission locations towards major points in the missions. You could easily miss them though if you don't take a minute to look around

Received my PC copy in Norway today, pre-loaded in Steam, but with i could start today.

also installed Nexus Mod Manager as always used them before with Bethesda games, are they still relevant though or is it better to just use Steam Workshop?

Thought I read somewhere here a few months back that its still the way to go, but i could be hallucinating.
