Anyone with the PS4 version able to confirm controls and what - if any - use the Touch Pad has?

The Touch Pad toggles between 1st-Person and 3rd-Person-Sight. If you are in a area where you can build stuff you can change to the building menu by pressing the touch pad.

Other than that the controls are buisiness as usual. But you can change the complete layout in the menu if you want.

I don't know why but my local Media Markt (Germany) already had Fallout 4 on the shelf :o
It promised to be 100% uncut and in English (voice+text) so I canceled my amazon.co.uk preorder and bought it.
Day1 patch for PS4 is already out as well.

Sucks that I'm gone for a week tomorrow :P

Yes it seems like a lot of German shops already have it. Many broke the street date.
And I'm in the same situation. I was able to play 5hrs this morning. Now I'm at my parents and I'll have to wait until tomorrow evening to continue -__-

I wonder if 9 INT 10 CHA 4 PER build would be too harsh a start on very hard

This is/was going to b my build. Only thing making think twice are the bobble heads you find. If I'm at max points in a skill and find a bobblehead that gives +1 to the skill, it's just wasted or do I get to use it as a free point?

Also the reddit post made me lean more towards that build as well.

John Cena has been debunked. I mean really. You don't think Vince wouldn't have promoted the hell out of that on RAW?

Also the PS4 player in that new footage is horrible as fuck.

PC pip boy hasn't shipped from Amazon. Wtf

yeah, yesterday mine said shipping on the 6th. today it says "soon"

Uff, none at all? Was hoping for at least some UI mods as that has been a main issue for me in prior games by Bethesda.

Hopefully there is a way around it. Thanks.

In the past mods have been made on day one without the mod toolkit, one doesn't explicitly need it to make mods but it makes certain things possible and easier like quest mods. Maybe this video will be of interest to you, it is by a popular Youtuber (Gopher) who has done a lot of LPs of Fo3 and NV and has made mods for them himself AFAIK, it's about day 1 mods: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYg69CzFum0

Any ways most people download mods via places like Nexus instead of Steam, maybe that'll change with Fallout 4 when its workshop arrives next year but Nexus is the best place for Bethesda mods and will be the place to keep an eye on for Fallout 4.

I actually plan on trying for the first time to make some mods for a Bethesda game, I have over 10 years experience programming but never tried to make a Bethesda mod so it'll be interesting.

I've paid 55€ in Saturn Cologne. I went 100% digital so far but now retail strikes back.

Wow that's really crazy.
I never went digital and never will. I just don't like it.
I actually also never wanted to order from online shops again and go only to retail shops. But yeah, I'm not mad that I paid a little extra. I got the game early and it's fucking Fallout. No price to high for that.

I'd like to think it gives you a perk point to use, but I doubt it.

I'm actually planning to buy the guide, which I hope lists the bobbleheads, their locations and possibly estimate how long you'll have to play to get them. If it does point out, say, a semi-hidden CHA bobblehead early on, I could PM you about it, if you want me to?

I just hope I can get the guide before I get to play the game. Thanks to the VPN, the game will unlock around afternoon of Monday the 9th for me, but the guide's site says it's released on the 10th. Guess we'll see.

1 hour & 42 mins of PS4 footage quote to see

Sooo... lip sync is perfectly fine? From what i see in that footage there's no problems at all with it. They fucked up the audio match with footage in the trailer maybe?

And im having doubts about my build idea now, from what i had seen in the perks table, charisma is very powerful and impressions seem to confirm that too. But how can you be a stealth fist punching ninja with a ton of luck AND be charming? Its a hard choice..

I think a lot of people will feel like that, it's a wasteland end of the world game, there is a lot of nothing. I like exploring those worlds but for someone not looking for that they will probably get bored if the story quests are paced slowly.

Reviewer does praise it for having lots to do but also said he got bored after 10 hours, most of his boredom seems to come from not progressing the main quest. Most of the big fallout fans don't even really care for the main quest all that much. When I played Skyrim the main quest was just world building fluff, it was never my main focus, guess this will be the same.

Thanks for the link, it gave me hope :) The UI is the big one for me so far, and the erst ill just tinker with when they arrive.

Ill keep an eye on Nexus as you and other have said, and will be trying Mod Organizer.

Thanks to all!

does anyone know yet if this is one of those games where people on xbox one can change the clock to new Zealand to unlock early? It recently worked with tales from the borderlands ep 5. idk the specifics of which games that work and which ones dont

I can't decide on male or female for my first playthrough. I've been watching the start of the game over and over and checking out random streams. Seems like they both did a really good job. For some reason some of the animation for the female seems a bit off and the model like poses are strange at times. Not like that would matter if you pick her.

Yeah basically this. Seems like he doesn't like what I like about Fallout games at all. I still think this game will review really well +90

I wish it was like that on PS4. Instead I get "punished" by getting my game unlocked later than my fellow countrymen for buying the game in another region (US PSN).

The story itself isn't the problem: It's the pacing. "Fallout 4" is a very, very slow game. And I'm not exaggerating this point for effect: The first five to 10 hours after you leave Vault 111 is mostly spent trying not to die at the hands of a random mole rat and on farming side quests to gain enough strength to push through main ones

But that's the best part.

Though I completely understand where he is coming from.

It's tied to the region in which you purchased it I believe so changing your region if you bought it in the US, wouldn't change anything.

Played for around 3 hours. Loving everything apart from the watered-down dialogue options, voiced protag, and focus on a stronger narrative (lol Bethesda writing).

And what's up with swapping percentage-based dialogue options with colour-coded options? Lame. :/

A stupid but important set of question if someone would be nice and answer:

Does the dog have an inventory where you can store items?
What is the carry weight limit for the dog inventory?
For human NPCs?

Asking because, while the dog seems really fun, it is a huge tradeoff to miss out on the companion mule aspect in a loot heavy RPG like this.

1.) Yes
The rest I don't know.

I believe companions can carry X amount of items and it's not based on weight. I need to play with it more though as I've only barely used that when I picked up too many heavy weapons.
