Hey, has anyone heard when the Target exclusive stuff will go on sale? I really want some Quantum Cola's, but it's still showing unavailable at my store. Tuesday?

jesus christ that framerate thread, comparing bethesda to pedophiles now...

AAA games seem to have a habit of people going nuts about them. Watch Dogs, The Witcher 3, Fallout, we've had lots of fun with them all. Then the game comes out, people play it, and everyone goes on with their lives.

is ps4 preload up yet?

Thanks for reminding me, yes. Apparently it only needs to download 4.5 GB to be playable on PS4 at the start so people with slow internet connections will be pleased if they forget to download until later. I mean I'll be fine I have like 65-70 MBPS usually. Putting PS4 to rest and letting that download in the meantime.

Why is it only preloading 4.451 GB?

Isn't the game like 32. Something GB?

PS4 version.

That is what it needs to download before you can start playing the game.

Highlight the game on the main dashboard and click options, information, this will show the total progress.

I think someone was playing it maxed out on a GTX 970. No idea about the rest of their specs. I couldn't tell what performance was like though since the video was a bit janky and only 30 FPS.

I think he said it ran on solid 60fps but somehow the fps go down to 30 whenever the area is loading for a shrot moment.

Guys when it says 4.451 GB it means it's showing you at first what it needs to download before you can play it.

As another member above said, just click start/options on the game's icon, information and then it shows you it will continue to download the rest of the game in the background. You'll be able to play once it downloads the 4.5 GB though.

This is better than xbox one's preloading where even if they tell you "it only needs this amount to play" I've still had games where I start it and then it says "waiting for the rest of the game to download".

I did that and total progress as of right now is 665.8/4.451 GB.

According to PSN the file size is 32.1 GB.

So for all preloads it will only ever let download a portion of it than download the rest when it inlocks?

Just trying to understand how it works.

Holy shit! You can get an extra SPECIAL point right in the beginning of the game, meaning 29 points instead of 28.

Literally the "first location" spoiler:
In the game start, there is a book, "What makes you SPECIAL?" It is in the character creation section in your house, before the war starts. This will give you an extra point, allowing you to make/plan a starting build with 29 points.

no, please just read my reply.

are you in EU or US? Cause mine isn't starting in EU=(
UK here and the estimated auto-download date is showing as Monday 9th. This is visible from clicking on Fallout 4 from the Library (not the Store).

My recollection from past preloads in that preload on the day before release is the usual thing. Usually the early hours of the morning, e.g. 2am.

Cutting it a bit fine for those with slow internet or unstable Internet as mine has been lately :-/

Well I got the ending spoiled, damn you Twitch chat lol.

Saw it and then I realized I don't actually care.

Or one could try it and see for oneself? If you can't spot the dips, it doesn't most likely bother you

I can't exactly try it for myself, it'll run 60+ fps on my rig on Ultra.

It downloads a small portion first (X/4.451 GB) and then once it does that, press options and see information of the title. Once it's done downloading that initial portion it tends to download the rest in the background.

This is done so people who aren't preloading can know that when the 4.451 GB are done they can start the game and begin playing while the rest downloads.

Huh, I don't seem to be able to lower the unlock timer on steam using vpn software. I managed to do it for many games before, but somehow it doesn't seem to want to work any more. Did steam update something?

Maybe I'm not reading it correctly but : when you are shaping your character, in the bathroom, you are able to read a SPECIAL book which will grant you another point? Could you explain it again if you can?

And, how did you get this info?

Whoa, that is fantastic! My current build was one S.P.E.C.I.A.L point short for early game stuff, so this solves it I guess!
