Here we go. This is more like it. :)

Holy shit! You can get an extra SPECIAL point right in the beginning of the game, meaning 29 points instead of 28.

Literally the "first location" spoiler:
In the game start, there is a book, "What makes you SPECIAL?" It is in the character creation section in your house, before the war starts. This will give you an extra point, allowing you to make/plan a starting build with 29 points.

thanks man... really sucks though if you have to set down in a chair to wait... can anyone confirm that... i reallly waited to take advantage of the night person perk and play the game always at night...:/ it seems real odd they changed it...messes up my build.. wonder if they are using 2 min per in game hour like most open world games?

I'm 99% sure I saw a streamer just sit down on the ground and wait, similar to Witcher 3. I could be wrong though.

Yea. There are places to sit everywhere though.

Never mind.

If true thank god. Going with 6 CHA and INT then.

I've been playing a lot of (vanilla) Skyrim and New Vegas for the last days to calibrate myself to Bethesda Quality™, so FO4 will hopefully blow my mind in comparison.

Have people mentioned how the perks are later on in the game?

I mean many of us have our characters almost built, but sometimes what sounds good on paper is not good in gameplay.

has anyone mentioned perks to avoid? special stats to focus on etc?

Gonna go with this build:

Strength - 3
Perception - 4
Endurance - 3
Charisma - 5
Intelligence - 6
Agility - 3
Luck - 4

Enough for Lockpicking and Hacking, strength for Armorer and luck for mysterious stranger.

With the extra perk point noted above, I'll bring Charisma up to 6.

Easy VPN instructions.

Been about close to a year for me. The hassle of modding (especially on an older set up like mine) got to me and I called it quits for a while. Funnily enough when I was close to reinstalling them, 4 was announced. I've been savoring my first step back into Fallout with 4.

The only negative I've heard so far is that someone said they regretted getting the V.A.N.S perk which just draws a line on the ground to your next objective. Someone said they thought the perks in CHR were underrated.

However, the overall vibe I'm seeing is that you're likely to enjoy the game regardless of what you choose to do or even if don't plan ahead.

As for myself, I can't help but try and plan my character out. :) I'm going to do it again after lunch.

Heh. Already knew that this perk would become annoying.

Well, he said it wasn't so much annoying as useless. You have to manually activate the effect by holding down the VATS button when not in combat. And even then, the line fades away after a moment or two.

I think my steam just started downloading the day one patch if anyone who is already preloaded wants to get that over and done with

I usually go charisma at 1 and intelligence as high as possible.

But from what I understand are there no skill points anymore? So will INT be less effective?

Wow, thanks for the info.
