Anyone else see static in their vision?

So I've been seeing static in my vision all my life. I thought it was normal, just what everyone else sees. It's not bad, doesn't affect my life in anyway but it's always there 24/7 whether my eyes are open or closed.

My friend thinks I have something called Visual Snow. Looking it up it seems pretty much like what I have, I can't find anything else really like it.

That's pretty much what I see with my eyes closed and with my eyes open (minus the solid colour background).

Any other Gaffers in the same boat? Or am I just sitting peacefully in an eternal visual hell?
 
Only if I look at a solid color and focus on a single spot.

Yup.

I figure my eyes just have a weird "refresh rate" or faulty wiring lol.

I'm not sure it's all related to floaters.
When I look at a bright sky in one colour or clouds, it becomes much more apparent. Also when I close my eyes.
Just staring at my screen right now, I notice a bit of it like visual noise. It's subtle, but I wonder if other people don't notice or they truly have good eyes that just see pure colour.
My colour perception overall is pretty good though, I think!

Tinnitus.

Get a diagnosis though. It could be compacted ear wax too.

You should probably see an eye doctor and get your eyes dilated if you have concerns.

Yeah, I get the static a ton. It's only super noticeable if I look at a clear blue sky. I kinda thought it was maybe the unhealthily large amount of time I've spent staring at monitors most of my life, never considered it a possibility that it was something I just had. Kinda glad to hear it's a thing tbh
 
Had it my whole life too. I only see it if it gets really dark in the room,

My eyes also see different colors too. My left eyes sees a warmer red-ish tone while my right eye sees things in a colder blue-ish tone.

Also if I suck in my eyes with my eyes closed I see bright blue flashes.

I don't know what any of that is or means.

The ones you see whizzing about in squiggly paths are white blood cells. That's Scheerer's phenomenon and not the same thing.

That clear blue sky stuff could be something else tho, your white blood cells and most people see it.

Switch to HDMI2.

Whenever someone's in close proximity to me I get that weird static sound that you hear when a TV is on but there's nothing on it. It makes it hard to sneak up on me unless I'm wearing earbuds or there's a loud noise to drown it out.

OMG, I've had "floaters" since I was a baby. I usually see 'em when I look at the sky. I tried describing it to my parents and friends when I was a toddler, but they just thought I was crazy. Now I have a word for it, and I'm not alone! woo!

Didn't know it was a medical issue though. I've had it since I was 3 (aka as far as I can remember), and I'm 22 now, and my eyesight's great. Not sure if I want to live life without floaters. Whenever I have nothing better do, I like to chase my floaters.

Floater is different from this. This is more like static. A lot of people have floaters.
 
Thought this was normal. It's extremely subtle and only noticeable if I'm trying to see it, if that makes sense..

I get floaters after looking at something bright, which I also assumed was normal.

edit: I think I might be a static-seer too. When I was a baby and sleeping on my mother's lap in the sun, I remember seeing black dots inside my eye. If I close my eyes under the sun, the colour inside is usually orange-red, and I see moving static on it. I don't see it on a day-to-day basis though.
 
Nope. Never noticed any static. I do get the odd floater every now and then.

I get it too really bad whenever I stand up. At worst (when I was like 11) I fell to my knees for like 15 seconds before I got my eyesight back. Of course, that's only in like 1/100,000 times I stand up.

It just happens.

I also have moderate tinnitus too from firing a 24 gauge shotgun 22 times without hearing protection so I wouldn't look like a pussy in front of my veteran uncle.

Never again... it ain't worth it.
 
sometimes if I'm on my tablet or laptop while on my side at night such that one of my eyes actually gets covered by the couch or bed I'm on I'll get a sort of staticy image out of that eye as it adjusts to normal light levels.
 
I don't see static but I hear a static like noise that's always there, sometimes I can hear the static mixed with some rhythmic tinnitus that sounds like my heart beat, of course being the dumbass I am I have made no attempts to seek medical advice on it.
 
Huh. I thought everyone sees that static if they pay enough attention to it.

Also have floaters but neither bother me. It's pretty easy to not think about it.
 
Wait, this isn't common? Wiki says its a rare condition but, i've had this as long as i can remember and i just assumed it was relatively normal or at least related to visual impairment (myopia, astigmatism etc, for the record i have astigmatism).

The whole "rare" thing is what spurred me to make this thread :/

I don't know if it really is rare, I think a lot of people go through life seeing it as the norm.
