One of the first things I'm going to do is go to the vicinity on the map where I stayed in Cambridge this past September and see what's there. Then build a fucking settlement on it!

How do I get RAD-away? My stats currently state "RADAWAY (0)"

You may need to seek out a merchant, or a doctor in a town somewhere.

You can usually find them in the white medical first aid boxes on walls. Or you may need to head to a town or city and speak to a doctor. There is no doubt a doctor in Diamond city and probably that first town you come to.

Ah, I caved in and bought the PS4 version. Once it preloads, I'll buy a stack of mountain dew, dortios, and sequester myself within my parents' basement.

I told my mom to wipe the crumbs from my mouth and ready my poop sack when necessary.

I took down my DO NOT ENTER sign for a blownup jpeg of a vault.

How long does it take me to reach Cannibal status? I want to eat the ass first.

oh dear....

Just few hours ago official Bethesda twitter account announced how preload is live on PS4. So that was just for NA even when tweet implies it would mean globally <.<

Is there any reason behind this? With PSN being what it is I´m actually worried I wont be able to download it in time.

The whole auto saving problem in the old games (and Skyrim) was that at a certain point the massive save bloats would cause stuttering and extreme load times. I'm wondering if that's still gonna be a problem.

I'll be turning auto saves off for the mean while.

I guess this will not be a problem with the current amount of RAM in this gens hardware.

that was a ram problem im pretty sure was never a problem on pc only consoles....i had thousands of saves on skyrim and NV.....the ps3 had very low ram.. so i really doubt that bug is still there... i also never play these games with autosave... always save in a new slot :P

A tip - don't put too much thought into your special stats. It doesn't really matter anyway because you can rank up each individual perk when you level up.
Bad advice, IMO.

Every time you level up, you can either choose to activate/upgrade a perk, or you can add a point to one of your SPECIAL attributes. Generally speaking, activating a perk will have a much more profound effect on your capabilities than will adding a single point to a single attribute. In short, perks, especially high level perks, give you much more bang for the buck than SPECIAL attributes. It's rarely a good idea to boost an attribute unless there isn't a single perk available that "fits" your play style. Only in that circumstance would it be a good idea to "spend" your level-up on an attribute point.

Here's what I'm doing:

Decide what kind of character I want to play. (In my case, a Shaolin monk type dude. Fast, agile, sneaky, unarmored. Uses melee weapons, thrown weapons, or just kills shit with his bare hands. Doesn't use guns, computers, drugs, etc.)

Decide what SPECIAL attributes are important to this sort of character. (Strength, Perception, Agility, Luck.)

Decide what perks are going to be the most important to this character, and which of those are "reachable" right out of the gate. (Ninja, Iron Fist, Sneak, Better Criticals.)

Come up with a set of starting SPECIALs that will allow me to quickly grab as many of the "important" perks as possible, as quickly as possible. In my case my SPECIALs will be something like:

S - 4
P - 5
E - 2
C - 2
I - 2
A - 7
L - 6

The above will allow me to grab the following perks while I'm still low leveled:

S1 - Iron Fist
A3 - Sneak
A7 - Ninja
P4 - Locksmith
L6 - Better Critical
P6 - Night Person (assuming I find that early bobblehead)
I2 - Medic
S4 - Blacksmith

After that, I'll probably grab a few other perks, and then start upgrading my "best" perks if I've leveled up high enough. Hopefully by then I'll have found some more bobbleheads, which may open up more perks. Eventually, I'll come to a point where my best move will be to bump up one of my attributes, but I want to happen as late in the game as possible, after I'm already kitted up with a bunch of useful perks.

Just my opinion, of course.

Without spoiling, which bobbleheads are available early game without much fuss?

I know of the general locations, but don't exactly know what would be viable to get early game. If you have to enter a place with a pea shooter and everything can wreck you easy. It's not exactly worth it to waste all your ammo and stuff.

Do you have a good builder site you use? I have tried a few and they are all pretty bad.

Well I think I just had the ending spoiled for me while browsing imgur. Never wanted to jump through a screen so bad and pummel someone. People, what a bunch of bastards.

Quick question for people who have the game early.

What ethnicities are available to choose from in character creation screen. ?

Just because there was war waged with nuclear weapons it doesn't mean people can't do laundry :b

Interview of Melanie Marden from FO4 launch party, sums up list of invited people? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9O6sApVH3o

Can't be mad at her. She probably just came to the launch party to get drunk and have a good time or maybe even hook up professionally or personally. She handle the interview well for being clueless.

I asked before and i didn't get an answer. Is your character known as the sole survivor or vault dweller? My friend says (s)hes the vault dweller but i keep telling him otherwise

Caved and bought a key on GMG since I had $39 in credit on the site anyway. I have a PC Pip-Boy Edition coming Tuesday, but I'm willing to pony up $21 to have it pre-loaded and be able to fire it up tomorrow when it unlocks

Are radiation weapons the same as energy weapons in 3? I didn't see a perk that boosted energy weapon damage.
They're different and only effect humans, possibly robots/synths. Obviously Ghouls and Super Mutants (and other radiation mutated creatures) are unaffected.

As far as I can telll no perk increases actual energy weapon damage only magazines you find do.
