Fallout 4 has gone gold; leaked gameplay vids

Well shit, after reading that PS4 thread I'm really worried about performance and PS4 is my only option at the moment. Seriously thinking of cancelling my preorder.

Find a few posters who are good at critisizing and those who can argue the strong points reasonably.

I think some of these poster's on Gaf actually drank some radiated water to prepare to the release of Fallout 4 because the hyperbole for and against this game is strong. Also realize that not everyone is good at giving impressions. If some people sucks at lets say stealth then to them the entire mechanic is fucked up and no one should bother.

Just a question but does this go for every thread? I'm party of the DestinyGAF community, and I know when the thread nears its end, people start posting subtitle suggestions. So that's a no-go as well?

I think it's been chosen but it'd be nice if they told us so people can stop posting.

edit: ahh I understand now :)

I've watched a few videos; well, at least the ones that Bethesda ninjas haven't taken down, and I'm not at all worried.

If I was, I'd get it on PC. Mine needs to be upgraded desperately, but we're still at the point in this gen where the performance of these games doesn't show enough of a gulf for me to give up the convenience of just tossing a disc into a console.

Fallout 4 is my most anticipated game of the year, and can't wait to do it up on PS4.

It's annoying and craps up threads, IMO. People who make OT threads put a lot of time into them, let them be the clever ones to make the thread titles. ;)

It's frowned upon in general but I feel that nobody really cares for community side threads since at that point the community is keeping it alive

It's not as inherently disruptive on the Community side.

Didn't a mod just reinforce earlier that they want it day of release and no sooner to avoid hype train?

Well Ninja said he is going to post OT around 10-11AM CET which is ~6h from now. I guess it will be locked / taken down then, but hasn't OT's being going up <24h before release time? 10AM CET is less than 24h to release, even for US release.

Guess we'll see. It'd be silly to close it with half a day till release but it's their decision I guess

The one who's making the OT has already made up his mind already, anyway. Perhaps..

Didn't see Blue Ninja's post so I'll take your word for it.

Wasn't aware it was frowned upon though in general. Many pre OT threads in discussion have solicited thread title ideas. How else are people meant to vote for their favorites?

I've watched a few PS4 videos and the framerate certainly appeared mostly solid to me. I wouldn't be too worried unless you're hyper anal about framerate, in which case console gaming in general would be a problem for you.

Any chance of Counselor Bannon making an appearance? I just want to hear "Welcome to Boston Attire" and I'll be satisfied. Also, the BobRoss twitch stream chat spoiled the ending for me. Yay! I should have known better.

I've been playing for some hours but I still die sooooo often (first fallout for me) I'm level 16, is it possible, that I might take on to hard quests for my stats?

30, level 20. Really taking my time exploring and doing side stuff.

Xbox One.

Have you come across situations you felt like you can't deal with that seemed cheap and unfair yet? Traveling at night was my biggest issue in Fallout 3, it felt like a deathclaw would only spawn behind me at night and kill me before I heard it; it happened consistently enough I was sure it was a bug :(

Please someone correct me if im wrong, but i think its like this.

MAKE SURE YOU DONT BUY FALLOUT 4 ON A VPN OR YOU WILL BE BANNED

  1. Start your VPN to New zealand time with steam turned off.
  2. Start steam and go to fallout 4.
  3. Hit play / unlock (this part i don't know, i assume it'll say play).
  4. Fallout 4 should load as long as its past 12:01 AM New Zealand Time.
  5. Alt + tab out of fallout 4 and go to steam and make steam go into offline mode.
  6. Turn off your VPN, make sure you do not let steam go back online until it's 12:01 your local time.
That's it i think. Not hard at all.

Anyway, how do I know if my VPN is working?

I've done a fair amount of reading in this thread, and I know early on there was a lot of theorizing - but has anyone broken down how intellect affect XP? Is there a certain percentage increase per point of Int?

I'm sorry if this has been addressed, but I haven't been able to find it.

It'll start unlocking/unpacking. You'll know it's not working if it tells you that the game isn't unlocked in your region.

Essentially, close Steam completely. Start VPN. Select region, start Steam go to your preload and hit play. If it worked, it'll start unlocking, if it didn't it'll tell you that the game isn't released yet.

Quick question for anyone who has the game or has watched streams. In Oblivion and Fallout 3 at the end of the intro/tutorial the games gave you an opportunity to redo your character before setting out into the world. So if you wanted to make a new character you could save right there (Fallout 3 actually autosaved at this point) and not have to redo the entire beginning. For some reason they took that option out in Skyrim so every time you start a new character you have to go through that whole thing. So is there a similar thing in this game or if I want a new character do I really have to start from scratch? Thanks.

As you leave there's an opportunity to change name, face and SPECIAL. The only thing that's fixed is the gender you chose at the beginning.

That actually sounds kind of awesome. Can only travel during the day and have to shack up at night.

I feel like there's many sections like that. I quicksave a lot. I just cleared out some ghouls from a house, and there was one who could basically two hit me in about 5 seconds as soon as he reached me - I was stuck for about 45 minutes in that house. Managed to kill it by pure luck. It's possible that I'm just really really bad at Fallout though.

someone posted a while back that it's suppose to be 5.5% increase per point in Int

Nothing cheap or unfair, just areas I clearly was not ready to be in yet.

Jesus fuck what's the size of that gif

I had to download that on my second-gen atom tablet a couple nights back... it was painful but worth it :)

I don't think we'll see formulas until PC folks start breaking down stuff. I doubt I won't have an optimized build until my second play-through but I doubt that's going to be this year :D

STOP STRESS GUYS...

You cant be banned for using a VPN to unlock a game... Is fucking ridiculous ... HAHAHAHAHA...

You can play online , you risk nothing.
