Fallout 4 has gone gold; leaked gameplay vids

Question for those with the game, have you used the Fallout app? I'm thinking about using it on my ipad to have a map up at all times. Does anyone know how it connects to the game?

  1. Start your VPN to New zealand time with steam turned off.
  2. Start steam and go to fallout 4.
  3. Hit play / unlock (this part i don't know, i assume it'll say play).
  4. Fallout 4 should load as long as its past 12:01 AM New Zealand Time.
  5. Alt + tab out of fallout 4 and go to steam and make steam go into offline mode.
  6. Turn off your VPN, make sure you do not let steam go back online until it's 12:01 your local time.
That's it i think. Not hard at all.

I've never done this but I probably will for this game. I still haven't finished Until Dawn(a little more than half way through i think) and I got homework but fuck that, I'll do the hw last minute and play 1 chapter a day of until dawn till I finish it. can't wait for dat fallout 4 yo

It scans your game via wifi connection.

Speaking of which. My PC is connected to the modem via a LAN cable. Will the app be able scan my game on the PC, or do I have to get a wireless adapter for my PC?
 
If you change the clock on your PS4, it'll unlock the game. Dunno if it's the same for the One though.

How many of you tried that at some point thinking you could game the system, huh?

yeah I'm hooked up via lan too, was curious if I have to plug in my old wifi adapter to get it to work

I would assume that if it is on the same network it'll detect it fine.
 
This is the first time I ever played a fallout game. Too many of my friends have been hyping this up for me. So I went ahead and pre ordered the PC version. So noob question: Will this game play well on an Alienware Alpha i3?

During the destiny launch I tried that for like 4 hours, what a way to waste time.
 
Well, I've got a small forest of paper next to me that is my 1,542 different character builds I am planning. Every time I think I have it, someone on GAF says something about a stat I was neglecting and I have to start over. I just want 10 Agility, Charisma, Intelligence, Luck, Strength, Endurance and Perception. I'm not asking a lot here.

The easy answer for that is not to be a completionist but a role player, build youself a mad scientist (9 int) or a martial artist (9strenght), an average guy with other random traits, this makes these kinds of games more engaging to me.

lol, yeah. it's hard having the blueprints for being God in front of you but you can only turn into Batman. I want to swim underwater forever winning every conversation with a maxed up sniper rifle with no aim bounce while my at capacity settlement is making a million a day and having a fully upgraded armor set in my closet at home locked behind any safe because I can hack them all.
 
Fyi you have to download the entire game to play on ps4, the playgo segment only contains the s.p.e.c.i.a.l videos. There is no gameplay in the 4-5 gig download

hey man, its OK, over time, your get them all to 10 as you level up. Your build is just a starting build.
 
I assume even if the download is completed on the PS4 you still can't play it up to November 10th US time, yeah? Downloading from the US PSN here, of course.
 
so like, no one with the game still hasn't tried to see if the robot says Joestar? Guess Fallout fans don't got taste when it comes to anime/manga and dont read/watch Jojo's Bizarre adventure. >_>

Out of everything negative I have read on this game in the last week this is the one that is bothering me. My internet is pretty damn good but if PSN servers shit the bed on release day...ugh.

EDIT: Anyone got some of that stability stuff going 'round?

I'm sorry if this has been discussed already, but why is it ban able to stream a game you legally purchased? How are individuals held to non disclosure agreements? How can Zenimax rightfully file complaints on YouTube?

I'm now at DEFCON 2 after reading that the only preload data is the SPECIAL videos and no gameplay stuff. PSN servers on the release date of one of the biggest games of this generation have me greatly worried. Lawd, Shuhei, please plug in a couple extra servers for Washington State!

Achievement support in Offline Mode is up to the developer, so there's no knowing on which side of the fence Fallout 4 resides until it has released. Steam doesn't yet track time played in Offline Mode, but supposedly Valve is working on that, which makes sense given the revamped refund policy.
