And this people is why you don't buy from cdkeys/g2a. I ordered from them over an hour ago (to save my wife money who's buying me the game for our anniversary) and haven't received my key even though it says instant delivery. It tell ls me Your purchase is not yet available for download, please come back shortly. Never ordering from them again.
BTW it was cdkeys not g2a

They will send you an email shortly with the key, got it (like all my friends) this way.

Which really bothers me about how the story floating around that it was even started. I kind of have no choice but to remain positive about all this and confront the issues as I face them because the anti-hype surrounding this game has passed the realm of hyperbole to the point that people will purposefully put out bad logic and if not that, lies. But why go that far?

When is the review embargo and has there been any early impressions from reviewers or gaffers?
It's amazing how often you see people accuse Bethesda of being cheap and lazy while simultaneously agreeing that there is no direct competitor to its open worlds.
That has nothing to do with cheap and lazy. There's simply no one else that really attempts that kind of game. I don't know what's amazing about people acknowledging that and Bethesda's shoddy workmanship.

I edited my post too. Yeah Im kind of shocked there's no Lara Croft thread either. I'm sure it will do really well but still weird Gaf isn't talking about it.

no thread, no hype, no commercials/launch trailer or mass advertising I've seen. Someone in the October NPD thread said that it's like once Uncharted 4 got delayed, its like MS became completely disinterested in TR

That being said, I really do wanna play it but it not coming out on PC until early next year works out in my favor because Fallout is going to dominate all my free time for the foreseeable future lol

Here's what looks like the XB1 and someone playing as a woman for about the first 40 minutes. I didn't watch the whole thing, but the part I did watch I didn't see any frame dips

People saying here's 40 minutes of footage on PS4 and 1 hour of footage on Xbox are missing the point. This is an open world game so your mileage will vary. It's not like comparing the same level or chapter in Tomb Raider.

You would have to replicate the exact same scenarios to see just how bad the frame rate can get. Which also explains why someone will come in and say I have version X and it's been fine only to be followed by I also have version X and it's brutal.

Yeah. Been watching this stream on live from playstation for a bit now and there has been some pretty big battles with mirelurks and ghouls with 4 friendly NPCs with you and there hasnt been any shoddy framerate issues. Im no longer worried about that being a problem.

It is crazy how Rise of the Tomb Raider has been a complete disaster from start to finish. There was the exclusivity deal out of nowhere, followed by MS's evasive and drawn out PR, and Spencer's admission that the Rise of the Tomb Raider deal only existed to combat Soony's Uncharted 4, and then Uncharted 4 got delayed....and THEN Square Enix announced the PC and PS4 release dates for Rise of the Tomb Raider. And on Tuesday it will flop magnificently.

Good show MS, only you could accomplish this.

So..

Pre-ordered on PSN.

Download for preload is 4GB. I've heard that's not enough to run the game.

So we are going to have to download the rest when it unlocks tomorrow night?

I have noticed the framerates dropping here and there. Have never seen it happen in the interiors so far.. and whenever it happens, its not as bad as AC Unity (launch).

The game has been running fine on a PS4. But then again, I am not an expert in this area so I may not be seeing things others are.

No no no. No one here is an expert in framerate (ok, actually maybe a couple). You, my friend, simply don't give a shit and are just playing, not over analyzing and having fun it seems.

I like you.

Sadly though, it'll probably end up being a great game and get overlooked.

I'll have fun with the game it doesn't mean I can't get angry if the game occasionally drops FPS.

But please leave the bugs. Bethesda games are better with the bugs.

I won't be much of a productive teacher tomorrow as I'll be following the review thread on my phone. Complications will arise as I teach students one on one.

I'm also a teacher. Sorry kids, the librarian has to keep checking... your books... yeah, totally not my phone or anything.

Can anyone tell me if explosives are easy/hard to get to in the game? I want to start off using explosives ASAP and was wondering if it's viable that early in the game.

Once you start the game via VPN, you just keep steam offline correct? I've never used VPN and I don't want to dick this up.

Once the game has unpacked, it's best to switch to Offline Mode, yes. Free AU/NZ VPN servers are exceedingly rare -- FlyVPN is limited to 20-minute sessions and VPN Gate, which isn't a provider per se but rather relies on "volunteers" making their connections available, doesn't currently have an AU/NZ server.

How is that a disaster?

Final piece of my new PC comes tomorrow (the fucking CPU, thanks Newegg). Gonna be a long day of work, but FO4 at the end of it will be worth it!
