So basically if you're about to lose just have one of your teammates quit. Have a predetermined rotation of who will quit so you can better avoid the timeout. Better yet, have someone get on an alt account to be the fall guy.
Look, we've been over this argument a million times on this forum, usually in the context of join in progress and it's place in Halo. There's no perfect solution, hell there's not even a good solution. You can mitigate some of the fuckery by punishing quitters in various ways, but everything has a trade off. People suck, bottom line, and it's not worth making serious concessions to the ranking or matchmaking system to deal with it.
If you're really frustrated, the solution is simply to search in a party of 4. Ask on gaf or just randomly invite people who were just on your team. If people on GAF would spend half the energy they spend raging about quitters, and instead work on building their friends lists, this wouldn't be such an issue.
Here's the better solution. No penalty on losses if someone on your team quits. To negate the abuse, there's still a penalty if its someone on your search party who quits. Real, real simple solution.
Hell, even just negating a loss if someone quits and just letting the abuse happen would be a much better solution than the shit show ranking system that exists right now.
