Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

I like my Skins

Best pistol skin. Not up for debate. :p

Sorry for thinking you shouldn't be punished for not being matched correctly. I've had too many swat games with 20+ kills and a handful of deaths only to end up losing with someone on my team with the opposite kills and deaths. You can only do so much if your teammates don't know what they're doing.

I would also say that this guy is ranked Bronze. So his players that he is matched with aren't going to be the best of the best.

I have just two more levels left for my Legendary solo run. This game has been awesome! I just finished the level where
Osiris jumps from the back of the Guardian.
That's what I'm talking about! Also, I don't find the Warden to be particularly tough enemies. You can cheese them big time using your teammates (
or Arbi)
to draw his fire. I took one down with just a light rifle.

I am on mission 15 Legendary solo, that should be done tonight easily enough. Legendary so far has been a blast! I haven't found it aggravating or unfair. I haven't found a situation yet that couldn't be solved with exploring your surroundings during a fire fight. I usually ended up with finding powerful weapons or flank positions that helped me get the upper hand. The campaign maps are amazingly well crafted if you take a few moments to scope things out, even on Legendary. Hats off to 343i on the campaign on Legendary Difficulty!

My main complaint with the campaign is once again they've made a weapon viable in multiplayer and it makes campaign aggravating. In Halo 4 it was the Needler, in Halo 5 it's the Storm rifles that every ranger Jackal and their mother is carrying (I never thought I'd live to see the day when Jackals with Carbines would make me happy.)

On several instances thus far (of of the turret rooms in Sunaion, the end of Glassed) I've gotten pinned down and killed again and again because there were no options for escaping my predicament—fast movement speed and thrusting options aren't enough to make up for fast TTK and wicked accurate automatics, and so I have to stay in my hole and fight it out, and hope on this spawn through they don't chuck a splinter grenade I cannot dodge.

So there is a bug in theater that totally screwed me up for a bit. Trying to find a clip in my Warzone match and I'm not showing up in game at all. Took me a bit to realize that my gamer tag had been replaced by another player in the film....

Related: why don't all my clips show up on xboxclips? The most recent one is from 11/5... Wanted to post a nice killtrocity I got in Warzone.

I was fortunate to not run into too many issues with getting trapped in a corner, but there were obvious times where I had my position and the enemy theirs and we had to just fight it out at distance. I'll be interested after Mission 15 to see how many times I actually died. Maybe it wasn't so easy to get to the end as I make it out to be. Regardless, I've really enjoyed Legendary. Compared to other games that make this mode absolute hell (CoD 2 back in the day..... why did I even try to get 1000 achievements?!?! So much rageeeee)

Man, I love the storm rifle in arena. so satisfying.

Most people still don't realize how good it is yet. It kills faster than the AR and the smg and has better range. It's balanced out by the fact that if you go fully automatic it overheats really fast. Miss a few shots and you're in trouble.

The exploration aspect is much more prevalent in the latter half of the game. The first few levels really don't seem to offer as much versatility in that regard, in my opinion.

This is actually one thing I love about this game. If your in a tough situation or low on ammo, take a minute to explore the environment because chances are you'll find a destructible wall or weapon cache that will have exactly what you need to help you get through.

There is so many different ways to approach the big battles in this game. I'm already looking forward to my second solo play through because I feel like I missed a ton.

yeah I just burst fire it, seems to get me out of most firefights alive, and even lets you manage a few 1v2s as long as you watch the temp on it.

I loved SMG before but storm rifle is now my go to automatic on any map that has it. Especially empire where its right next to people scrambling for the plasma caster 8)

I'm getting such average stuff in my warzone bundle req packs. Starting to regret that purchase a bit. I'm not sure I've even gotten 1 legendary from them yet. Seem to get an ultra rare each time, but usually it's a vehicle or something.

Just realized i got Diamond 1 in Swat but i was 2 wins and 8 losses in my qualifying matches. lol

I guess my performance was pretty damn good? haha jk :(

Battling the controls is my excuse as in the beta i felt like a BEAST. now i feel like a puppy...

I too finished the game on heroic yesterday. Honestly, I hate what they did to
cortana. Just completely kills my interest in anything related to her. 343 changed her from one of the best characters in the game outside of the master chief to one of the least memorable.
ah well.
Story was really weak as you and everyone else have mentioned. I didn't like the unbalanced amount of play time with Red Team and I find forerunner weapons to be pretty meh.
I'd rank the campaigns as such CE>4>3>5>ODST>2>Reach

I am new to the Halo franchise and recently played through MCC (didn't bother with ODST) followed by Halo 5. I agree with the spoiler above and enjoyed the evolution of controlling an entire fire team but there was unbalanced play time between the two teams. After playing 5 campaigns back-to-back, I preferred playing as Master Chief no matter how boring that is to some. Buck was my favorite part of Team Osiris and I really didn't like
Locke. I seriously hope he is riding a basement desk at internal affairs when Halo 6 comes out... Perhaps his service record will have be tampered with by Cortana as a not-so-final F U, taking him out of the field.

My campaign rankings (for the titles I have played): 3>2>CE>5>4

If you get placed in bronze and can't get out of bronze, maybe you're bronze.¯_(ツ)_/¯
I'm not bronze but I am very content where I am. Aside from a few matches all the games have been very competitive. I never feel like I'm outside my weight class. Love it.

Are you guys even buying bronze packs to fill out the arsenal, thus preventing getting in those other packs

Got most my commons certified so i don't have worry about getting that crap in my silver's

Granted you shouldnt since its suppose to give out better stuff

So - do we have populations of where most people fall, in regard to CSR Rank?

Pretty much everything I play, I get placed in Gold III, only to drop to Gold I, and then bounce between Gold I and Gold II over and over again.

I wonder what "percentile" that puts me in.

No, not that I am aware. I agree, it would be interesting to know though.

Yes! Got a Phaeton for like 30 seconds as the entire enemy team suddenly conjured up a bunch of rail guns and spartan lasers.

Yeah, the limited edition kinda feels like a waste as of now. The premium bundle has had one legendary so far, and that's the bracer skin for the DMR. It was included with the console, but still..

It's an amazing shield stripper too, hose down 2-3 spartans with it and watch their heads get popped by your teammates... if you have good teammates.

I'm curious as to the population distribution among Arena ranks/divisions.

Are they designed with a target distribution in mind? For example (with the exception of Champion):
1/6 in Bronze
1/6 in Silver
1/6 in Gold
...
1/6 in Onyx

Or is the distribution more of a normal/bell curve?
few in Bronze
some in Silver
many in Gold
many in Platinum
some in Diamond
few in Onyx

Or something pyramid-esque, like:
most in Bronze
fewer in Silver
still fewer in Gold
...
fewest in Onyx

I am aware that the game cannot perfectly enforce a consistent distribution among ranks (e.g. the top 10% will always be Onyx) because of how the one-way progression works: you can advance a rank, but never drop down, so the distribution should become more top-heavy as time goes on and people rank up (but never down). Still, I am curious about how the ranking distribution shakes out in practice, and if there's at least a goal distribution from 343's end.

I really wish in Warzone, things like armor mods and load out weapons could be set so they automatically are applied once you reach certain energy levels.

Hmmm my aiming feels off today. I had a few games today where I went negative... I even dropped my sensitivity. But everything was smooth as silk. The new map rotation in slayer is great. They need to remove Pegasus though lol

I agree. I am always forgetting to have my only Armor Mod enabled. I mean, of course I want it active. I wish we could set it and forget it.

Agreed. There are also tons of precision weapons available to you at pretty much all times of the campaign. I actually like using the Carbine, the light rifle and the DMR much better than the BR.

While talking about weapons, I'm looking forward to seeing how "The Answer" works against a Heroic level Warden on my second play through. 343 should put legendary weapons on MP maps because that thing is beastly. It would be cool if a weapon pad could have a random power weapon or a legendary weapon spawn in a social arena playlist.

it's stuff like that. But I'll die to a random grenade or lucky shot and my team will lose. Then I'll rank down.

I should just power through with a group of 4 in an evening I guess.

Yeah, no matter how bad a group is you can't do too much about team shooting.
