Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

Not sure I'm following you. If I'm diamond, won't my opponents skew toward diamond level? I don't even think I've seen a bronze player in matchmaking yet.

You are under the premise people on diamond don't queue with bronze/silver/gold/plat levels. Also that a silver guy who possibly played with a bronze won't check his stats.

Haven't played this game in a couple of days and after coming back the servers are broken. In UK and every game i get into now is filled with gold ranks (Im diamond). The lag is unbearable and i even got disconnected from a game. It was perfectly fine at launch and i've played almost 50 hours upto now with the game working. Hopefully they patch whatever they broke soon ,because right now ,i'm done with the game until then.

If anyone is interested you can still get the Vengeance AR skin by watching the 10 short videos if you haven't already. I just got it last night. Plus a couple misc. Reqs

Same. I've never played a game where I care less about the score than I do during Warzone.

Ranked arena is a whole different story but Warzone is the most laid back I've ever been in an fps game.

Its more about HOW we lose, I guess: Pushed back,no co-ordination, no room to do anything without being shot at.

No-one bothering with bases or if they are, going into 1vs5 fights and not waiting for others.

Most annoying thing is when we are like 200-700...and a person goes after The Warden rather than try getting the bases while the team is distracted.

First 10 days of Warzone were the best times I had with an FPS...now I pick it up, lose twice and do something else.

If you hit up a REQ station in Warzone you can stack powerups. Apparently with 8 REQ you can stack Speed Boost 4 times, and become light itself as you outrun vehicles and use next-level strafe tech.

Anyone else notice how nobody gives a fuck about the plasma caster on any map? Including me. I hate that gun.

I've found that it's a situational weapon, with the situation typically being that you have to already know what you're trying to aim at.

Where you identify an enemy, go into cover, switch to it, while in cover charge it, then come back out and shoot it.

It's horrible to just walk around with as the primary weapon you're gonna roll with I've found.

Wat no way.
I tried doing OS+SB but they just over take one another

Ill try stacking those SBs

^^ plasma caster is cool for charge shots at ceilings if the room is short enough the balls will rain death onto them hahah

That's not what I'm saying at all. I'm talking about selection bias, which is extremely important when dealing with statistics.

If we're interested in the total ranking distribution of all players, e.g. what percentage of the total population is in Bronze, Silver, etc, the method of selecting data should be as unbiased as possible.

Do diamond players occasionally queue with silver players? Sure. But in general, if the ranking system works, they will more often queue with diamond players. That's going to skew the distribution.

Will a bronze player happen upon Halotracker and look up his stats? Sure. But in general, I think it's safe to say the people who care enough to look up their stats will skew toward more skill and higher rank.

So trying to determine the total, global Arena ranking distribution by looking at Halotracker suffers the same problem as trying to determine what percentage of people in the US are sick by surveying the people in a hospital. Sure, not everyone in the hospital is sick, and not everyone outside of it isn't sick, but there's a bias there, and any statistical survey needs to take that into account.

I'm a Gold 4 in Slayer, and I'm really happy with the matchmaking. Most all of my games are really close and competitive.

You know what I got fed up with over the weekend? Constantly playing 3v4 the entire god damn time. Trying to play CTF with 1 down? Might as well just quit

They are only getting 2 a week though.

Yeah, but they are still paying for them. If the were absolutely guarunteed all the awesome stuff, folks who didn't pony up would be at quite the disadvantage.

Cosmetic items aren't pay2win

It isn't just cosmetic items... I don't think...

In general, I don't think the req system is pay to win, mainly because the contents are randomized. But if they guarunteed certain things for people who pay, THAT would be a step in the wrong direction.

I know you can do stuff like power weapon + overshield, but no idea that you can stack the same powerup, sounds like a flaw lol.

.... does this work with 4 overshields??? Now I have to go experiment a bit.

I have had an issue with audio on rig

All the sounds are much lower except the voices. This has happened about 8 or so times over my plays. Makes it feel like im playing in space or something.

Can someone tell me what song from the OST is playing during the last mission you play as chief? Like the metal version of the Halo 2 theme song

It's fantastic for clearing rooms, like the enemy core room. :)

Listen to what I'm saying. The current system isn't pay to win... The gentleman I was responding to suggested people who paid should have been gaurunteed better things... That WOULD be sliding towards pay to win.

And I think that 343 throwing a bone with a rare armor or so wouldn't hurt in the long run.

Um they aren't just cosmetic items if you're a Warzone player

I'm only talking about cosmetic items.

Even after the update? There's so many variants in there now.

Played Empire CTF tonight, it was very frantic and fast paced, not sure how I feel about it yet.

Like here you can see I kill 3, but one of them is back and on the flag with the other left over almost immediately, lol.

I think it's kinda similar to MLG Countdown CTF in Reach.

The maps in Slayer/Team Arena don't seem to have any sort of balance imo but I think I just need to play them more and get used to them. Nice pistol work on that triple! Saw this on Kotaku: http://xboxclips.com/I+Habb+I/070df4d9-8e86-4e5e-8410-5b86101ab802

So, a litle recap of my Halo weekend:

-Have I mentioned how good and rewarding the matches are, I havent seen myself trying this hard since Halo Reach MLG playlist, Every match I need to put my complete focus because anyone, with anything can kill you regardless if you have a BR in hand, so you need to pick your batles, be more strategic and more aware. I love the challenge

-I have been doing only Team Slayer, more because I felt my negative KD was not telling on my real perfomance, I was placed in Diamond and And during this weekend I feel Im in a place I finally feel conftable with my game, I even had a runing riot innone match.

-To everyone out there, use your mic, do call outs, even if no one is, sometime is just take the initiave of one player to have the other players join in, it makes the world of a difference and on high ranks is a must.

-especial mention to the Ahole in one match i had that instead of doing callouts was complaining the whole match on how everyone in his team sucks, This is type of behavior just make the team worst, if you are going to use your mic, use it for something positive, not to cry about your teammates performance, the guy was even shooting at me and dashing at me at some point, i got killed maybe 2 or 3 times thanks to that.

-Last, I decided to conect my xbox to my 40 inch, the experience was bad, my screen has a good response time and Destiny plays perfect on it, but for some reason in Halo 5 the aim just felt really slow.

Opened $120 in Gold req packs so far, nothing that great. Got a couple of good weapon skins and some decent certs like ONI Scorpion, but no DMR. Did get Security which is pretty neat though.

I could hate on you for spending so much, but I have over $400 spent in CSGO for just weapon skins -.-
