haha loving the Giant Bomb quick look. Definitely going to watch more from these guys in future.

"What happens if you get addicted?"

"Don't know, I haven't used drugs because I'm not a fucking dirtbag"

Yea, that was a fun fairly-non-spoilery quick look. My interest in this game went from 'meh, will wait for a summer sale', to 'hmm, might need to buy this soon'.

RIP Sarah, my first character. She lasted 89 minutes in the wasteland.

She left the vault, ran off into the distance ignoring the main quest, threatened a random person she found and stole all their bottlecaps, then stumbled across a random shack in the middle of nowhere, picked some locks, solved a puzzle and unlocked a workshop. Then she redesigned the entire place to her liking using crafting.

Then a trip mine somebody placed inside a diner blew up her up.

The game is fucking brilliant.

Anyone find a good Bobblehead guide? One with locations shown on the map?
As soon as the digital guide unlocks tommorow morning I will posting that info along with Skill Book locations if it hasn't been posted yet by than.

Are you limited in how much you can build within the boundaries of a particular settlement area? Is that what the size bar in the building UI indicates?

So a buddy of mine took his XBox One copy home early, just relayed me some impressions (about 4 hrs in). Overall pretty positive, said he had a few spots where the FPS dipped, never to zero like the DF article experienced, but he did say "low 20's" for his guess. Only happened twice to him.

He did say most of the hiccups appears indoors. Its not game breaking, but it is noticeable.

Hopefully I'll get some more impressions from him tonight. Makes me feel better about pre-ordering on the XBone vs. PS4, but I think I've learned my lesson. No preorders from here on out.

If you have a ps4 and Xbox one why not just it on ps4? Controller preference?

Top MLG TIP: If you're on PC, turn off v-sync and whenever you have to reload your gun, look at the ground or a wall or whatever. Looks like animations are tied to framerate, I can reload my guns twice as fast now lol.

The ghouls I was fighting felt a bit fast too, though, not sure if pretty much everything is tied to framerate, which is a bit... Disconcerting.

Spoken lines cut halfway through too since my game's running at twice the framerate Bethesda wanted.

The news about the mod support coming to XBox One first, and the fact that my XBox One has pretty much sat dormant for a while made me go that route.

Usually my multiplats are PS4.

Damn i'm not much of a nap taker but I'm thinking about going to sleep until midnight once I get home from classes.

Ahhh they got some of the Fallout 3 licensed tracks back :) That's so cool.

I like some of those, but would much rather have an all different soundtrack, feels lazy to just throw the old tracks in there. Oh well, at least it will be easy enough to mod and have a good variety of tracks!

This is weird. My brain can't hand lock picking and V.A.T.S. controlls.

It's like I know, this stick is for that and the other one for that, but I keep mixing that shit up. I really don't know why this is keeps happening.

You didn't make any changes to the iFPSClamp variable, ya?

Holy fuck I can't work right now. Too much hype.
Yeah I've been checking gaf on my phone all day, crapped out a CR but nothing is sticking today. Just want to dip my feet into the damn thing already so I can concentrate again.

Also considering buying it again on steam and not opening up the pip boy edition ...

Saw a video that mentioned that sneak attack critical hits are separate from vats critical hits and do not benefit from the luck perks. So if anyone is planning to build a Luck/Agility build like I was keep that in mind. Apparently Non-stealth based criticals are only manually triggered in vats and do not occur randomly. Need to completely rework my build now.

Nope, just turned off the v-sync.

I'd be fine with it if it actually worked. If I keep it on, the game starts stuttering, locks at ~55fps and I get insaaaane mouse lag. Unlock the framerate and I get these kind of weird problems.. But they're the lesser evil for now. Hope Bethesda fixes this.

some pretty weird shit. Earlier today I was able to connect to multiple VPNs. Right now I can't connect to any VPNs. What changed? beats me...

before I actually had the game running only to CTD on selecting New Game. something of a frustrating not awesome day so far but I guess I will just be crossing my fingers that it works at midnight.

A question to anyone who's a bit further in: how important is the settlement stuff? I LOVE the gun modding, but I'm a bit ehhhh on the settlements. I'm actually a bit unclear what I'm even supposed to do with them.

Guess I'll get the sanctuary people some water and food and electricity and see if it starts getting interesting/rewarding.

I'm not super familiar with VPN but my understanding is that you have to pay for it. Is that true? Also, doesn't that violate steam TOS?

Maybe PM UberLevi, who just posted beneath you. Hopefully they'll help you out. :)

Its pretty easy though, I've used a few in the past on "trial "periods to unlock games early. And you'll be fine on STEAM, as long as you stay connected on your VPN until the game officially unlocks for the states.

There's a few that give free trials that you can use. Just don't purchase a game when it's on or you'll be kicked. Otherwise, no one gets banned for it.

It's optional, so don't worry.

Not sure what is going on there with VSync, doesn't sound good (did you try using driver VSync instead of in-game?), but the unlocked FPS thing sounds a lot like iFPSClamp not being 0 in older Gamebryo stuff. People used to mess with that setting but it wasn't all that safe for that very reason.

Bethesda haven't fixed the vsync/framerate being tied to everything else problems for years, there's no reason they'll start now.

I'd like to know if driver vsync helps as well. Someone tried that?

I know it's still ridiculously early, but what are some immediate differences between 3 and 4 that some of you have noticed (for better or worse)?

So quick question after watching the beginning of the Giant Bomb quick look: what does the Local Leader perk actually do?
I'd have expected the "supply line" means you share your stuff between settlement, which is why I was kinda planing on taking this perk...

Just hit level 26 on normal. Finally starting to become a bit OP. I still haven't explored the majority of the southern portion of the map.
