No, I'm using a Technicolor 8305c from Comcast, but I did have them send me an Arris modem just a month ago and that didn't fix the issue. I also bought my own modem and for some reason it wouldn't work. I'm pretty sure Comcast is fucking with me but there's nothing that I can do since they're the only broadband provider in my area (except for shitty AT&T DSL).
I really hate how I get disconnected from Halo 5 servers the moment I get any lag, even it's just a couple of seconds. In other games, I never get dropped. MCC, for example, would just cause a rubber banding effect that eventually goes away, but it never kicks me from the game like Halo 5 does.
I wonder if it is a hardware compatibility problem though. It seems all the cable providers that provide Arris modems are having disconnect or lag issues. People having issues with multiple X1's on a network unable to play together in a fireteam are seemingly all using Netgear series R(7000/8000/8500/700) router get booted from the game before loading for no apparent reason and there is nothing that the user can do to fix this.
I use an R7000 router, which was something around $200 when I bought it and am splitting the cost of a new TD-link Archer AC3200 which is a $250 router that doesn't have reports of these issues. I will report back if it fixes the problem. I was able to play with my brother for a handful of games on an old router before it decided to stop broadcasting wifi and it was glorious. It would be nice if 343i could give some idea of whether this particular issue would be getting fixed or if I made the right call spending $250 to replace a perfectly functioning piece of networking hardware.
