I hate character customization, I'm so bad at them. I thought my character wasn't bad at all until I arrived at Concord, or whatever that city's name, and ended up deleting my save file since I was about to feel "self conscious" everytime I met other characters lmao. I'm just gonna roll with one of the default faces with a few tweaks (hair, color of eyes and beard maybe) and forget about the rest. That way my character won't stick out like a sore thumb because he either has that weird ass jaw, mouth or eyes.

I'm thinking of saying screw it and using the
special book
to put my charisma at 10 even though there is a charisma bobblehead out in the world. Any reason not to do this if I want to use intimidation?

With my current build I just don't see the need to have more special points in a tree, maybe I'll do luck just to have my luck higher. .

first CTD, after reloading a save like 5 times because I kept dying (fuck those leaping ghouls). Might drop it down to normal tbh, thats how I always play my games anyway. I dont even know why I bumped it up this time, thats just not something I do

I remember making a ME3 char, and it looked great from the front, it wasn't till I got in game that I noticed, that from the side, he had a completely flat face.

I am completely on the fence with this one. Nothing I've seen or heard about the game sounds compelling. The base building, crafting, combat, materials gathering all sounds and looks like a chore to me.

My favorite part of Fallout 3 was constantly discovering weird little subcultures and humorous characters and deciding whether to kill them or not. I'm assuming that's all there in 4?

Building and material gathering are optional. This is still very much Fallout.

Man, the "animal" type enemies in this game are a hell of a lot faster in general. It's made me a little bit glad I went melee for my first playthrough, because the parry makes all that shit so much easier to deal with. Later on the Big Leagues perk sounds like it turns your melee attacks into frontal AoE cones, which sounds really nice for feral ghouls.

Heavily torn between getting this or not, don't have much money at the moment. However, I've an assignment due in tomorrow so it's acceptable to treat myself for submitting it right guys!?

Btw. is this now confirmed that the higher the difficulty the more legendary enemies and better loot ?

I play on hardest difficulty and legendary enemies do pop up quite often now that I'm almost level 10. I think it's combination of difficulty setting and level you are on, higher level and more common they become.

Finally, dog walked, apartment somewhat clean, got my coffee + weed, breakfast sausage sandwich and a hashbrown.

Day off.

Life is damn good right now.

Fallout ALL DAY.

The exact same thing happened for my Fallout 4 dude.
Thankfully you can use the console to change it on PC.

I (early game spoilers)
put 5 beds down for the people I rescued from the museum. I know you can put defenses down too but if I dont, will those people get killed by attacking enemies?

No
You'll go back there in a little bit and build defenses in a tutorial quest soon

Oh yeah.

For instance,
I just found a farm maintained by Mr. Handy's. The three supervisors there are all based on television hosts, including one that does a game show routine.

HA! Mine from the side looked sort of like this

With his eyes popping out.

Bethesda forums have been totally unhelpful with my problem of the game crashing after hitting play on the launch window.

So yeah, going to just see if I can get a refund via steam.

I know I asked this question before but never got an answer.

How do I get the first magazine to appear under your dresser before the bombs go off?

I used to just mostly roam around for hours in past fallout games, now I spend a few hours making decent settlements. Then spending half an hour or two customizing my guns, my gear and my chems. I can definitely see myself spending 400hours to complete this game.

By the way, anyone have any idea what happens if I dismiss Dogmeat? Like is there a chance he'd die off by himself or something and also where I can find him if I feel like having him tag along again.

You can't pick stuff from the ground, right? I mean like pressing Z/Right stick in Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

No I don't think so. I tried to do that but doesn't work.

Why do I have to carry around all mods that I already built? Is this necessary, I don't see a reason why they should be in your inventory.

Is it possible to create new weapons? Or just to improve the ones we already have?
Also, is there anywhere with pre-selected builds? I'm really not in the mood of think about a build that may become useless later... So I guess I will only follow a build that I sympathize with.

I've played the previous Fallout games but I'm kind lost now! lol

I've heard this a fair bit today.

What is specifically wrong with it?

In previous Fallout games I knew exactly what was being said, so I always knew which option I wanted to pick. Here, I basically have to guess.

In addition, this game repeats the Fallout 3 probably of tying my characters backstory down heavily, so I can't actually feel immersed and roleplay. There is an extreme cognitive dissonance with all the murder my character is doing, and the life they lived in Pre-War times.

Also, another complaint, this once again feels like a theme park version of a post apocalypse, and so far, I don't feel like things are really...seamless and the world doesn't feel like it really gels together in the NV's did.

So since I can't touch this game yet until I get out of work anyone mind posting some radio station music tracks and composers? I'm specifically interested in the new ones only and not the ones they recycled (licensed again) from Fallout 3.

Played a couple of hours.

Loving it so far. Everything I expect from a Fallout game.

Need to buy an headset, mine is broken :| and with a newborn baby, it's quite difficult to not use headset.

GAF, help me: I'm a huge scifi fan. Battlefront is my only must-buy for 2015 as I've never played any Fallout before, but I'm willing to give it a try. I have only two remarks:

1) I tend to "over-explore" places and try to collect everything (hello OCD) and I'm afraid of getting tired before finishing the game due to the overwhelming customization/exploration options.

2) I've absolutely disliked Bethesda's control and combat mechanics when I tried the last 3 Elder Scrolls games, to the point where I lost interest in those games.

With that in mind and given I'm on PS4, should I buy this game? Thanks!

Ok, I get you, the dialog (at least the pre-emptive dialog you select) is streamlined and doesn't give you the full idea of what you are going to say?.

And on your other complaint, I agree, but I am at a loss to see how they could have tackled it different, I have just accepted that my char has a chequered past that she kept underwraps!

proving that because you love something doesnt mean you cant point out the flaws, getting some nasty frame drops in this section minor side quest spoilers
outside the police station when the ghouls are attacking.

lots of drops to the low 40s, with a i5 4690k, 16gb ram, gtx 970 (actually 2 970s but SLI aint working anyway), so yeah, it aint perfect lol :p

also, fuck that
minuteman
companion. First he bitches about
giving drugs to the old lady
, now hes bitching
because I asked the paladin for caps as payment
. I miss dogmeat, damn my ocd for needing to do every quest

New Vegas already showed how to do it.

If you're going to pretend and advertise that you can "create any kind of character you want", don't tie your character's story to their origin. Let it be a complete mystery, so that the player can make it whatever they want.

That fitted in with the narrative of NV though.

I don't think this is spoiler material, but I'll tag it anyway,
let's be honest, your child is stolen and your significant other is killed in front of your eyes, and you find out that you were cryo frozen to be a guinea pig, that's enough to push anyone over the edge a little.
