Some info about "repairing".

1. Fallout 4 does away with repairing... except for power armor. It needs to be repaired periodically but weapons and all other armor does not.

2. I found
the Repair Bobblehead. It doesn't have anything to do with repairing. It instead permanently makes all Fusion Cores last 10% longer.
.

Im sorry if someone noticed it before... but Jesus, you can quicksave in the middle of conversation - yep, just before CHA check. And quickload works well.

Strange...

Baha I was looking at Dogmeat and he eats the flies/dust around him if you look at him long enough.

You can pick up almost any item in the game. You can throw fruit at your settlers or use cabbages for sport (throw them in buckets). What... I gotta fill my time.

I also put raiders bodies around my house.

Well done!

have an older computer, while outdoors runs great at around 45fps.

the game took a giant shit on my face when im indoors tho, getting 15-25fps.

Wait. You can pick up bodies? Does the dam hold really hold the water?

How do you assign someone to something?

This game can be really vague with things sometimes. I don't see any button or prompt or anything remotely like that.

You can throw fruit? How?

so now you can't/don't have to repair weapons and armor? They don't wear out from use?

Also I can't seem to select a body part to apply a stimpack to - was that function removed?

edit: looks like my first question was answered:

Very confusing for those used to F3.

I built one of those barbed wire poles in Sanctuary with the intention of sticking a dead Raider body somewhere on it as a warning to others. Didn't quite work out, to my everlasting sadness.

How do they react to getting hit by cabbages?

Bring up the crafting menu (hold V on PC) near them.

Walk up to them, there will be Command, Move (change settlement) and Supply Line (act as courier to open supply lines to other oupost). The latter two will be greyed out for some NPCs.

To assign to a specific task, like defense or farming, select command, then you move to the resource or task and hit the command button again, sort of like the command to tell Dogmeat where to go.

It's a pain in the ass to find everyone sometimes so I built the "summon bell" thing to drag everyone to me.

For farming one person will farm up to 6 crops nearby where you assigned them.

the pacing is ALL off in this game. the first hour is nothing, and then by hour 3 you have so much stuff you are over encumbered. I'm in my 3rd hour and I have 2 Miniguns.. that shouldn't happen this early in an epic game..

Yeah it's strange how quickly I found myself with too much stuff, compared with other Bethesda RPGs.

Its now officially past 8PM over here and I never recieved my copy and it seems like I'm not the only one that got screwed by Amazon.

Fallout 4 Is Having Shipping Issues

digital never has shipping issues. come to the dark side.

It's because you have to have so much stuff to build your town. My annoyance is I can't figure out how to break down stuff to components rather than having to just carry around a ton of junk.

I'm kinda frustrated at the moment. I have no idea what to do, my inventory is full, one point away form being over encumbered. I can't find shops.. and I feel like I'm screwing myself with perks :/

Edit: This is also my first Fallout

Couple hours in...when can I salvage shit?? My inventory has been packed for a long time and I'm having to stash shit I'm sure I'll forget about...

Are you making sure to unload your Junk at workshops?

Do we know if legendary enemies are randomly generated or do they always show up in the same location?

They are randomly generated. But generally a legendary Deathclaw will only spawn where Deathclaws can spawn. Also you can clear an area out but monsters will spawn again after a set amount of time, hence no level cap.

The legendary gear also uses one of these random effects for weapon or armor.

So you got to be lucky to get the random legendary effect on the exact weapon you want. The only none random legendary (called unique) gear mostly comes from quests.

You should be able to plant fruits and stuff in the crafting menu. That's how I did it.

You need specific things like corn, melons, etc. Why some doesn't qualify I'm not sure.

I've found them in stores and other settlements. IIRC one of the houses in Sanctuary also had some Melons already growing in the backyard. You can harvest them and replant them to get the quest percentage up a little bit but you'll need more or to keep coming back and replanting to finish it.

Ah I see. Alrighty then, thanks!

Wow so my ps4 said my disk could be dirty or damaged and it kicked it out. I looked at it and looks perfectly fine. Put it back in and now I have to redownload the game...I was like 50% there.

Disk better not be fucked up somehow.

Go to a workbench and transfer your trash over there. It will be automatically used for crafting.

You can at any bench. The weapon one scraps weapons, armor one some armor (not most clothes), etc.

A jerryrigged way to do it is drop stuff on the ground in an owned settlement and open the crafting menu near them. You can scrap anything in a settlement.

For just junk, just use the transfer option at workbenches (probably in Sanctuary since you'll want it there generally). There's a "store all junk" button.

I'm level 6 and my current quests are too difficult to complete. How do I exactly get better gear? Stingwings or whatever kill me in a few hits out in the wild.

Can I play this game without having played any of the fallout games? Or will I be completely lost?

You can play this without any knowledge of the older Fallout games. The game does a poor job of explaining some things but the ingame help menu explains everything.

I had that problem but it was with my whole ps4. Didn't even have a launch ps4 either it was the original white destiny edition. Ended up having to send my whole console to sony to fix which they thankfully did for free

I'd just switch quests. Fight some humans, they're going to be your primary source of better gear early on, and the upgrade like crazy at the workbenches.

Figured out by accident that holding down "O" on ps4 controller turns on the flashlight. That would have helped earlier..
