XBL: Games with Gold

So my 360 hard drive is pretty full. What's, I'm your opinion, the best external hard drive I could get for it?

You can download every GwG game you redeemed, but you can't redeem and download older GwG titles.
Oops, just reread what I wrote and realized it could be took the wrong way. Dany is right, you can only "purchase" them in the window they're available, but once they're purchased, they're yours for good and you can download them whenever.

Xbox one games can only be played as long as your gold subscription is active, Xbox 360 games can be played whenever regardless of gold status

I played a bit of Pneuma tonight.

It's erm, it's okay. Some interesting puzzles in there. HATE the narrator though, ugh so annoying.

It's very generous on achievement points.

I actually played through Pneuma over the weekend and did not hate it. The main character/narrator is kind of annoying in a Wheatley-ish way but at the end of the game his ramblings will make a little more sense. Furthermore, the graphics are kind of bland in that the environments are simple and sparse, but it is somewhat reminiscent of early puzzle games like 7th Guest or Myst. The game isn't that long, and most of the puzzles are doable without looking up solutions. I ended up getting all 1000 GS from the game after looking up a couple of secret achievements that I missed (only one of which is really annoying or time-consuming).

I also went back to So Many Me after getting distracted from it some time back and made it to the second world. I don't think i'm fond of overly-complicated puzzle platformers like this. It got to the point where I'd start a new level and scroll around to look at what I'd have to deal with and say "you've got to be fucking kidding me". Started to feel like work and I was only in the second world. I deleted it.

I don't know where else to ask this and don't want to create a new thread for it.

Question: Are Xbox One game vouchers still region-free?

As far as I know, yes.

I think it's only currency cards that are region-locked. Games, DLC, Live, Groove Pass etc. are all region free iirc.

Thanks. I was hoping that was the case/thought so. But there was a news story I found via Google about them adopting region locking last year.

I went ahead and created a thread out of curiosity.

I'm 99% sure it's the case, but it's worth it for that extra 1% ;-)

Knight Squad link didn't work for me.

Game might not be available in your region? Where you from

Edit: Just changed to US and it's giving me a page not found error. Just change to UK at bottom left and you should be able to buy it, I'm not sure why it's not appearing on US store.

It works on the Canadian store

Anyone played Dungeon Siege 3 in local co-op before? Thinking it might be a genre my girlfriend would enjoy playing, but don't want to go all out and get Diablo 3 just yet when this is free, if it's a decent alternative.

Yup, local on 360 and 1.

It's a bit diff than Diablo. Melee attacks can't be held to attack, skills feel different, etc. We enjoy it, and it has cool classes with nice multi-stance abilities, but I also find it kinda... dull? But I alo find Diablo 3's gameplay a bit dry too, so I'm pretty harsh, ha. DS3 can be hard on bosses and such, and the loot looks unique a good bit of the time.

The 2nd player basically plays a persistent guest on the main account. So their gamertag doesnt properly sign in or get cheevos. Diablo handels all this properly though.

I hate games that do this so much. My wife and I enjoy the lego games but we stopped playing them due to only one player unlocking achievements.

Ah, thank you so much for the detailed feedback! I guess we'll give DS3 a try and if she enjoys the gameplay style we'll grab Diablo 3, as i'm sure she'd be bothered by the "guest" status as she has been in other games. Why can't all developers get this right?

I didn't even realize Van Helsing was coming to Xbox - toyed with playing it a few times on Steam.

Good month for me. Finally get to see what's so bad about Thief.

First game in a while that I've owned. Bought Thief when I think it was the first ever Xbox One game to go on sale digitally, way back when.

Still only about 4 missions in.

I know they're catering to 360 owners too but couldn't they pick something other than 360 Castlestorm? Anything else? There are so many 360 games, why does it have to be a lesser version of something we've already got the 'Definitive Edition' of? :|

But hey guys it is backwards compatible! Wohoo! :\

And yes I'm complaining about 'free games'.

Van Helsing looks cool. Just finished Diablo 3 RoS in coop. I played the Flashpoint games on PC, they aren't bad but I'm not overly into shooters.

Admittedly, I do think the fact that they keep repeating games is a bit off... seems pointless especially now they are BC, I'm not sure why they really bothered with stuff like Castlestorm but I think its a good month anyway.

Im quite excited to try Van Helsing (or more likely download it and never play it amirite?)
