Anyone else see static in their vision?

i have this, it's like i accidentally left my camera on 25600 ISO — so it's worse in the dark, but also apparent on pretty much any solid colour like a blue sky. also, it reacts and shifts to sound.

also assumed everyone saw like this until i was 20 and my dad was like "uh what are you talking about."

Luckily no, though I do have some floaters sometimes. A few little dots and occasionally a longer curvy line. Extremely irritating when you notice them and can't help but keep noticing them.

One of the strangest visual effect I have is occasionally when I wake up in the middle of the night my eyes are not adjusted yet and it appears all my walls are covered in strange moving runes when it first happen it freak me the fuck out.

I think Van Gogh had that

Maybe you are just see the real reality !!

I have never noticed this until now. Thanks... I won't be able to fall asleep tonight now.

Don't be silly, it'll be forever

When I was a kid and bored while waiting to fall asleep in bed, I would rub my eyes just to see this weird static imagery, which I remember being mostly brown in colour. Eyes are weird.

I don't see flashes or floaters, but I do see the blue sky thing. When I close my eyes, I just see colours and and flashes of colour. Static if I focus on it.

I must admit some of his paintings texture are reminiscent of what I seen but It doesn't happen very often I believe I have only seen it maybe 5-6 times in my life.

I have it but can only notice it in pitch black.

When I took an astronomy class it did make it hard to focus on single stars though.

I used to have that 'visual snow' much stronger, and I mean when I was like 10. Especially when there was low-light, like in my bedroom at night, everything would just jiggle a bit like static. It freaked me out. I remember this, because one time I asked my teacher in class. I tried to explain it as well as I could, but everyone just gave me a 'wtf' look. But yeah, nowadays I don't really have it anymore. Might just be because my overall vision has become kinda crappy, lol.

I've had this all my life.

Only really noticeable in low light and darkness. Remember getting my eyes checked a number of times as a kid, and they found nothing wrong. I just assumed it was normal, and got used to it.

Floaters yup, all the time. It's worse when I'm tired and/or I've been spending too much time in front of monitors (work at a PC, love videogames :( ).

Maybe I should see a doctor, if I pay attention I can see the bastards literally all the time. Kinda scaring...

This thread got me curious, I'm gonna go to the doctors, but I don't expect them to tell me anything I don't know :/

But you never know what might be wrong, for all I know I could have something seriously fucked up.

I've had floaters as long as I can remember but they don't bother me. I usually have to stop and concentrate to notice them, guess I'm just used to them

I started seeing this visual snow after taking acid the first time... It made it difficult to read, and it got way worse when I was tired, for some reason. It eventually went almost entirely away after a few more trips.

I have tons of floaters. They are more visible when I'm tired for some reason.

So I've been seeing static in my vision all my life. I thought it was normal, just what everyone else sees. It's not bad, doesn't affect my life in anyway but it's always there 24/7 whether my eyes are open or closed.

My friend thinks I have something called Visual Snow. Looking it up it seems pretty much like what I have, I can't find anything else really like it.

That's pretty much what I see with my eyes closed and with my eyes open (minus the solid colour background).

Any other Gaffers in the same boat? Or am I just sitting peacefully in an eternal visual hell?

Oh man, this must be like the visual version of tinnitus.

Bumping this thread to say it made me realize I also have snow vision (and made me remember I have tinnitus, damn it). Now I can't un-see it. Thank you OP.

But seriously, this does help. I think my vision problems (nystagmus + near-sightedness + snow vision apparently) are the reason I am heavily disorganized and am pretty much a complete idiot - it's not easy to be organized in your head when the world around you is a constant mess after all.

But I'm only speculating. Anyone else (with snow vision or not) have this issue?
