Sitting at work and I reaallly wish there was a way for me to see my character online.

If I got the companion app, does it work outside the game or only on your local network when the game is on and connected through WiFi?

"Taking Independence" quest

I just finished it, and I'm level 11...it was really fucking hard. Should i even be doing these quests this early? I haven't done anything else but the Minutemen questline.

How often do you guys use the power armor? Are there points in the story where they tell you to use it? Or do you bring it along on random missions for more fire power?

Does the battery deplete when you fast travel with it? Does the armor on it eventually break, and can you repair it?

It's your call. I got bored of the Minuteman stuff so I went wandering really early in the game and came across the Brotherhood of Steel. I'm about 50 hours in and just now did that quest you're talking about.

shit, i feared that would be the case.

hey, the nukes dropped a few days before halloween, so it's fitting, right?

I guess I could turn that skeleton spot into my halloween room come to think of it, thanks for the idea. Does seem fitting that you'd use the real deal instead of a prop in a Fallout game.

Still want to get rid of it tho :l

I put the initial one back at my base. As I wandered out a little I actually found another one. I then hopped in and used that to do a mission until the battery died. So, if there are random armor sets in the world, I'm going to use and abuse those and keep mine at base until I get to a mission that really kicks my ass. Then I'll have it ready to go. As for modding them, I'd like to know as well.

put some walls around it and always talk about it in a scary way "that cursed shed we don't talk about"

Just found my second Legendary Raider and got my hands on a
Two-Shot Laser Musket
which is awesome!

Also, does anybody know if there's a reason to use armor that takes up all the segments? It seems like crafting a full set of Leather, Raider, Metal, etc. parts and then putting an undersuit on provides you with better bonuses overall once it's invested in.

I really want to use the Cage Armor, but I have everything Deep Pocketed and it's a godsend.

i'm really loving this game world, light years more interesting than F3/NV/SKYRIM

as expected, but still - just packed with POI's and beautiful moments

janks still there, but who gives a damn when im this immersed 99% of the time

im still using the wanderer outfit that i found earlier because all the raider/leather stuff im finding looks less cool

I'll probably scale back then. My issue was that it was frustratingly difficult (dying in a matter of seconds)...eventually got through it, but it took about 8 tries.

I cant for the life of me defeat the Mirelurk queen ... I'm playing normal, should I just come back when I'm stronger?

I'm level 14 now and the game has gotten a lot tougher for me, I think my weapons aren't doing enough damage or my armor isnt that good ... Any help? tips?

What does assigning someone to the scavenger table do?

Also, for people who have completed the 'Human Error' quest:
I found proof that the caravan stopped at Covenant in the form of the lemonade, but it isn't opening up any new dialogue options in the town. I also found the SAFE report. Is there something I've missed?

I was level 11 and it took me about 8 tries to bring her down...Do quests scale with your level?

although i didn't encounter the queen yet, mirelurks in general have been very vulnerable to explosives for me.
so maybe try that.

does deep pocketed give you more carry weight?

Put a couple of hours into the game, and just curious if I'm starting to venture too far out for my level. Regarding the Brotherhood of Steel quest "Call to Arms" (literally the second quest you get from them)

I made it through the mission, but this was largely by just letting Danse walk ahead of me and shoot everything. If I tried to step in and help out in any meaningful way I got worked over by the laser rifles from the synths almost immediately. I'm around level 7 or 8, with your basic armor/guns so far. Very minimal crafting to upgrade/mod that stuff.

My question is if this was the way the mission was supposed to play out, or am I really underleveled/geared for this part of the map?

If it helps,
I was just following the main path to go to Diamond City for the first time. So I figured anything I encountered on the way was intentional and most likely level appropriate from coming from Concord.

I did the quest yesterday and I was level 8 or 9 and I managed to get through it with relative ease with a double barreled shotgun modded with long barrel and heavy frame or whatever and a few molotovs when they gang up.

I, for one, am happy they seem to have better managed (upgraded) the difficulty of the game

F3 and NV were both jokes in terms of challenge

Agreed, game world was amazing... I was worried it wasn't going to be as dark or jam packed with hidden secrets / stories like Fallout 3, glad to see I was VERY wrong.

And creating settlements is sooooo damn addicting, best Fallout by far IMO.

Does anyone know if I can buy the soundtrack somewhere besides iTunes? Would love a hard copy CD if possible. Also, why has no one mentioned the music of the title screen? Me gusta dat piano.

Yeah, I'm finding this significantly harder than 3 and NV. Most likely due to the change in VATS and enemy AI

So I dismissed Dog before I knew what was happening and he had a bunch of stuff with him including my minigun - is it gone?

Also is there any way to check your bond with a companion?

I have a problem and can't find a solution for it. Whenever I start Fallout 4 on PC there's no cursor for me to move. All I can do is "press any key" and then it doesn't respond at all anymore.

Anyone got the same issue?

anyone know a potential way to fix the sound coming out of my headphones much stronger in my right ear for most sound effects in the game (also the music)? dialogue is normal

its the only game this happens, and music and everything else on my PC is fine as well

strange

I played a bit of this last night, and upon first exploring the wasteland and the first town-I came across my first "base" house I guess you would call it.

The features to upgrade/customize/remove things in your base really overwhelmed me. Is this something I need to invest time in or is it something I can skip?

You can completely skip it.

I'm a bit disappointed that they rehashed so many things from FO3. The sounds, the music, the minigames. Seems they only had one computer model back in 2077.

Am I the only one who thinks the movements feels REALLY strange? I feel like it has this weird 8-way movement to it and often times find my character not going exactly where I want him to. Maybe it's the way the character himself moves or is getting caught on any of the 8 million items scattered across the ground, etc. Seems to happen most when i'm moving diagonally.

Also, is there a way to fix the analog stick dead zone on PS4? I have to move the stick pretty far just to get the character to respond at all. Driving me nuts.

Trying not too read too many posts since I am early n the game, but I did want to ask. Am I being paranoid by not wanting to spend my perk points because I'm afraid that I will spend them on the wrong points? I figure if i wait a while I will get a better idea of what my play style is and then will spend them then.

I'm pretty sure the level cap is at least past 50 so I think you have a lot of wiggle room, I wouldn't be too worried.
