Dogmeat so op he ran into a crowd of ghouls and distracted them. By that time I had enough time to set up a Vault-Tec Launch Box mine and throw it into the crowd.

Dog blew up along with the ghouls. You did good dog. Now go FETCH

I wish you could attach mines to monsters. I've seen those weird moles that have like 3 mines attached on top that come to you and try to explode.

Ummm. I think Mama Murphy vanished from Sanctuary. Number of people didn't drop but she's just gone.

That's not a thing she does right? I'm assuming it's a glitch? Thing is I tried reloading some earlier saves and she's gone from those too while I know she was still there back then.

No idea what to do with that chair quest now

He can also lockpick anything. No perks required.

Okey my character has an annoying bug that makes me want to quit the game. It seems I am immortal....... everytime I get to 0 health it instantly goes up to full health it sounds like a cheat but I am playing on console and I want to get rid of it.......... don't know if it is a blessing or a curse.

Accidentally worked out how to turn my torch/flashlight on and I did't even know that I had one.

For anybody who does't know yet, on the PS4 you just hold circle. For people on other platforms, it's the same button to open your Pip Boy.

I like it how the Dualshock light changes color from blue to green when you turn the flashlight on or to yellow when you enter the power armor, it's a nice touch.

If I have a gun that, as a base gun, is normally a pistol, and I modify it to have a stock, does it become a rifle for perk purposes?

similarly, if I change the base of the gun to an automatic base, is it then no longer a gunslinger gun?

Bout to head home and want to give it one more shot before I abandon this place, so if anyone knows the answer I would love some help (very early side area spoilers, no story):

In the Satellite dish facility near to Tenpines Bluff, there is a terminal in the center that isn't supposed to be hacked, but has a few options that say "Offline" and says only "authorized peronnel" can connect. Anyone know how to solve it? I've explored the whole facility pretty thoroughly...

Welp this should help

Man I normally get 50-60fps in most all areas but I went back to do the Corvega quest and I was getting major drops everywhere i went. Jumping from 30-60 every second or so made it so fucking stuttery and almost impossible.

That corvega mission also hits the ps4 version hard. Its a stable 30 fps until that mission came where it started fluctuating. Everything before and after that felt okay like playing destiny at 30. But that mission I had to use Vats since real time aiming was finicky.

I must say, I'm impressed with the interior locations in this game.

Some of them are fucking huge and they've all felt pretty unique so far, unlike the copy/paste dungeons found in some previous Bethesda titles.

Okay...any of you who have gone back to vault 111 with dog to get the weapon...how in the fuck did you get him down the elevator? 10 trips and he doesn't show up.

Edit: lol bitch about I and he shows up on try 11. Annoying.

Heard the familiar beeping of mines about to go off, ran away and the sound kept following me. Turns out it was a mole rat that had 2 strapped to it that was chasing me. Poor guy went out in a blaze of glory, he took dog meat (temporarily) with him.

omg i love this

I wish they'd at least show him manipulating the screwdriver and bobby pin with his paws first. This method totally ruins my suspension of disbelief.

I think this is a bug.I really don't think Dogmeat is supposed to get that Cryolator.

Just got the Power Armor. Question...

Do I have to park it manually at one of those power stations or will it end up back at one if I get out of it?

So what do you actually have to do to be able to sneak just midly effectively in this game? Got 7 agility, 3 in the sneak perk, I wear armor that doesn't weigh alot. And it's still impossible for me to sneak around near enemies that a significantly lower level than myself without causing a caution state. What gives?

Has anyone actually been able to build a house in this game... A normal looking one? The tools and materials are so lackluster im wondering why they even made them.
They're suppose to lack luster because most, if not everything, is 200+ years old and irradiated.

Asking again for the other poster because I want to know the answer too:

So with the Local leader perk for supply lines is this something I need to setup or is gaining the perk the process of setting it up? Perk description makes it sound like I need to do something "you are able to establish supply lines...".

I was just thinking "wow I really love Valentine's outfit", and then voila, the game gave me Valentine's outfit. I love how she literally had an exact replica, rips and all.

You're running. Walk while crouching to make much less noise. Sneak 4 removes the run penalty, but before that you can't just haul ass while sneaking.

Impressions? Looking to pick that myself.

Physically it looks great, came with a big Commonwealth map and the posters for each SPECIAL.

Information wise I have yet to look but feel free to ask questions I'll try my best to answer when I dig in soon.

But I peeked and holy shit, it's all there .

Mayoral bunker question
I listened to the holodeck which said that the mayor left the key to the safe with one of his underlings. Where is the underling located? I looked everywhere.

Could be a bunch of things. Until you get Sneak 4, you can't really move full speed while sneaking or you'll make enough armor noise that most things will hear you when you get close to them. You can also use Armorsmith to improve your sneaking in various ways.

When making my settlements, I want to make those white fences I see all around Sanctuary. I don't see them under 'fences' or pretty much any where else. Can I even craft them?

That's not it. The variety is nonexistent and the tools are something i would expect from a college course. Even so, it's not like this game is logical in any way when it comes to preserving this 200+ year theme.

Is there any armor with a backpack or something? I saw one of the Brotherhood of Steel people wearing some, but she was nice so I didn't want to kill her to steal it.

I'm not sure I understand how charisma works in this game in conversations. I've put 6 points into charisma but in the first 6-7 hrs of the games, I've failed all of the yellow speech dialogue options. Am I missing something?

I miss the speech system from New vegas...

I am moving around while sneaking. I've played this type of character since Fallout 3 in these games, and while it's always a hassle in the beginning when your stats are low, it's always become easier relatively quickly. But I am now level 20+ and over 20 hours into the game. And trying to sneak into any kind of areas causes the caution state to happen very easily.

My game just crashed 3 times in a row. Tried an older save and it crashed when I tried to enter a new area. Any ideas? I'm probably at 10-15 hours and I really don't want to start over. Fuck

Yes it sucks (especially the lack of non-charisma dialog options) but you're not missing anything. Just put on a suit and trilby and down a beer before any charisma checks.

So, how exactly do you dismiss or just leave Dogmeat in Sanctuary so you can use the Lone Wanderer perk? I'm really not sure I like having companions at all.

Dogmeat works with the Lone Wanderer perk for me. Any other companion doesn't though.

You need to set it up. Enter workbench mode and walk up to someone -- on the bottom there should be a button for supply route. I believe it's rb or lb on Xbox at least. You can't assign any of the original settlers in sanctuary

I explored
Lexington today, had battles with Raiders and I've just started to access the Corvega factory
for 3 hours today. Love this game.

Some thing still bother me and that's mainly the dialogue system, which I've been thinking about. Shame things like medicine, science, barter don't affect dialogue choices anymore. I seriously hope that's something Bethesda rethinks for the next game (Elder Scrolls VI I guess).

Is anyone far enough to see if there are any factions besides the
Minutemen and Brotherhood of Steel
? Also anybody explored
Salem
yet?
