Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

Ya'll should settle this with a 1v1.

i'm so down. would be nice to pewp on someone twice

Sure luck plays a part, but basic statistics should govern how people generally spend there Req points...

If you are just starting out your req collection, the best most efficient way to spend is to start with Bronze, then move to silver, then move to gold...

If you start with gold, it will take you longer to accrue points, then when you spend them, you will often end up with common permanents anyway. That's a waste. Sure you'll occasional get some nice single use cards, but getting certifications if more fruitful.

Buy a ton of bronzes first. Doing so will up you chances of getting rarer cards in silver. The same will apply when you start going for gold.

I can understand that approach. However, like I said, I've had much better luck getting cards I actually want to use from gold packs. I mentioned that I sell just about everything that isn't a powerful vehicle or a sniper, so the gold packs work better for me.

I got pretty lucky and certified in a sniper, oni warthog, scorpion, and sword wraith in my first ten packs or so. Unlocking EVERYTHING isn't that big a deal to me. I just want stuff I'll use.

My friends K/D in team arena, where I've been having to (struggling) carry him, whilst trying to get to Onyx is 0.39

Zero point three nine

ZERO POINT THREE NINE

ZEEEERROOOO POINT THREEEEE NINEEEEEEEE

My boy's is 0.20. Then he has the nerve to say he's not feeling Halo. BRUH YOU SUCK!!!!

Finally got off my ass and completed my solo Legendary run. Sitting at a 93% achievement completion right now with only a few co-op achievements left to do.

I have only played solo since release (don't play as much as I'd like) and I'm not having a bad time at all. I'm loving the matchmaking. And Warzone is great stupid fun.

Hate to say it but that's just a large reason CoD is so popular now-a-days lol

Halo is just too hard for most folks now.

You mean Destiny. My little cousins love Mayhem Clash and said it's the best mode in the history of gaming. They used to love watching me play halo, and want to play it themselves. When they bought Halo 4, all they played was Grifball, Flood or Action Sack.

People hate strategy, they hate planning and thinking. They just want mindless 5 seconds of fun. Give everyone a non ranked Halo mode where they can get a random mythic/legendary weapon every spawn, and instant respawns, and it'll probably be the most played mode instantly. Oh sweet, I got Kelly shotgun. I got Linda sniper, I got prophets bane et.

Calling you out Ram/Nutter/Tawp, whoever he shit on. Let us know when it happens because with spectate mode, we can all watch it go down. 1v1, BR Starts on Fathom or something, symmetrical map.

There is something going on with button registration in this game. I have the new dash and tried button swapping but things like weapon swithcing and melee seem to delay or not register at all. It's not my controllers because I can play MCC fine.

Also I finally got some Arena time in. Boy I got my ass kicked with randoms (when they didn't quit).

There is something off with aiming, I can't figure it out but its like you move the right stick but the reticles slows down or doesnt move. It's not the low aim assist, the beta felt different. I don't know. Maybe someone else experienced it. It's like you need to keep the reticle straight and aim with your feet.

I don't know if this is allowed but I also posted this in the B/S/T thread but thought I'd put it in here for max exposure.

15 wins were Solo-queue, and the other 6 I started queuing up with these two nice Brits I met in a game we played together.

Also, obviously got my Onyx when I just won 21 matches in a row. xD

I was getting lit up yesterday but I did alright in Slayer today. Too bad people quit in what felt like 60% or more of the matches. And there's always that one guy on the other team that stays just to waste your time. Just quit dude

I think I'm done with Halo 5. I have it a fair shake. I wasn't going to even buy it but received it as a gift. There are just too many things about this game that either don't feel like Halo, or just are wrong.

-Aim acceleration.
-Lack of game types on launch.
(People can say reach was bad all day but the amount of options on launch is still the best to this day.)
-No split screen to share with my friends.
-No Lan
- Poor map design (too many sight lines and cover is either poor or insanely easy to grenade)
-TTK is too low. (Not enough opportunity to turn fights in your favor)
- Sprint (just all the things listed a thousand times that break halo staples)
- Thruster and grenades. (Thruster to avoid grenades, grenades made bigger to counter thrust)

I could go on. Never mind the way they've butchered characters and lore. I WANT SO BADLY to love halo, but I just can't get behind the lazy writing and the incredibly questionable design decisions. It only makes me all that much more angry how badly they botched MCC, never even allowing classic halo to have its chance to come back.

343 I hope you're happy. You're systematically destroying the thing I loved most. :/

I thought we were long past the sprint argument. :(

You can always be the one to quit.

This is exactly me as well. I wanted to get a feel before partying up with others. Just finished my Legendary run today and I have to say that on second play-through I'm liking the campaign even more. I still notice the pacing and plot issues, but the gameplay and environments are just so good and I think it's a cool direction. Can't wait to do a co-op run now.

Warzone is awesome. I find that even games where my team gets stomped are still fun. The other night for the first time since Halo 3 some randoms started using their mics and then we slowly started building a fireteam until we were almost full. We then proceeded to steamroll until we started to run into some other groups like ours and then had some fun close games.

I've been saying the same thing about button registration with abilities/melee, it's not just you mate. I've tried two controllers/designs and have no issues with either in other games. It's either a bug or a window of time they developed to not allow any actions. I'm hoping it's the former and not the latter. Also since getting a Master Chief controller I feel like that diagonal aiming thing is making me play/aim worse.

That moment when you have spent hundreds on REQ packs but still prefer to use Mark VI and an uncommon yellow visor...

Thanks for supporting Halo eSports Speedy :P

TTK too low? What!?! Don't know how many firefights I've escaped with a sliver of health that started with me getting shot first and pulling the reversal, and distraction nightmare.

Simultaneously I don't know how many times I've chased a gun rattling off at fire into his back only for him to escape around a corner and disappear like a ninja.

Halo 2 I get seen and killed, seen and killed. Sucks balls.

As for the content complaints right now, we are getting BTB really soon, coincidentally the same day as Battlefront, and we had playlist updates the same day as CoD. It is almost like there is a marketing and community plan for this game based around maintaining a player base.

Its the deadzones. the tinfoil hat in me says they made the deadzones huge for halo 5 to mask slowturn.. there is no reason why the deadzone should be this big on top of not having an option to tweak it.

Titanfall had semi wide deadzones and options at launch to ensure those who play faster sensitivities werent negatively affected.

I play on 4 in halo 5 and also have serious aiming issues since launch. my usual precise movements are much slower & awkward, sometimes too slow then suddenly fast. its not my controller either since its the same on my scuf, a friends elite controller i tested and the locke controller that came with the h5 console...

Thankfully they are patching in deadzone options in december but its going to be a tough wait.. =/

those on slower sensetivites dont really notice any wide deadzones since their sensitivity is already slow lol.

TLDR: Wide deadzones on the analog sticks in halo 5 on top of the aim acceleration makes aiming suck for people on 4+ sensitivity :(

Did you notice the other thing about the buttons not responding?
Sometimes I want to melee and nothing happens so I have to press a second time just to see me punch and die lol
also I'm gonna answer your pm >.< sorry got a lot on my plate right now

No never noticed anything with buttons not responding (´・ω・｀)

Aiming down sights is useless, my brother was playing Halo 5 and I was watching, mind you his not a vivid Halo player like me. He kept aiming down sights, even when the opponent was fairly close, he was getting wrecked. I told him this is not COD and to stop aiming down sights, this made him go from 5 kills per game to between 11 and 15 kills. This was SWAT by the way.

I was one of the people to complain about it when it was introduced, it now seems more of hindrance to newer players actually.

Anyone else doing the southpaw trick? I've been doing amazing with it. My friends played worse with it though.

Tried it, noticed a decrease in performance after playing a dozen matches, aiming was was too steady and kept me from getting headshots most of the time so I turned it off and now I'm doing better.

Need all the aim speed to keep up since players move so fast

I'm on 10 and it's not fast enough. If someone starts pecking me from behind or sprinting up behind me it's almost always too late for me to respond. The aiming when an opponent is near feels too slow, when they're further away it feels natural to the sensitivity selected. Still haven't exactly gotten used to that.

every sensitivity lower than 10 feels really slow so ive been playing at 10 since day one.
usually played on 6 on past halo games and the mcc

...HOW??? I can't even get to 7.

Just came naturally, was always competent with 4 but during the beta I was forced to go 7 and couldn't go back even when it ended. Once Halo 5 arrived I noticed 7 wasn't enough to keep up so I switched to 10.

It's all about practice and getting used to higher sensitivities the more you stick with them

So started my halo multiplayer journey, 3 ffa matches in and I was buzzing. 1st match was donged, many many times, there were a few onyx and gold ranked that just slapped my feeble skills and lack of map knowledge. 2nd match came 6th more my level scrubs and fairer fights.

3rd match...assassinations, nade kills, using movement to beat people, finished 2nd felt soooo good! I don't normally do multiplayer but this was too much fun.

I'm in the EU and have barely ran into any issues with servers. Had maybe 1 or 2 laggy games in about 15 to 20 hours.

I'm also in the EU and I like you have only had one or two laggy games. But I have had a shit load of high latency games. There are probably lots of people who are running around in smooth games, but have no clue as to why they can't kill people. But go down quicker than $20 dollar whores.

This game doesn't really have jittery, teleporting, rubberbanding players. Instead the problems are almost imperceptible if you are not really clued up on them. Grenade delays, ttk, getting shot around corners, mêlée lunges that are the same as sword lunges etc

I wonder just how many people have already ditched this because they can't understand why they are having such a hard time in certain games?
