I'm not doing the main quest line at all. Just exploring the middle area of the map above Diamond City. That might explain why I'm running into tons of legendaries.

This game has sunk it's claws into me, and I can't freaking wait to see what the modders do on all fronts. Once you get moving down the map the game really starts to hit its stride.

No offence, but are you new to videogames? XD

Nah, but for real, just bring up your pip boy > INV > select item and press equip/drop. I'd drop anything that has little-to-no value and you don't think you'll ever use or need for crafting.

Thanks!!! Curse all those fucking mugs and coffee pots I picked up. Haha.

Damn playing a sniper character/build is so much more fun than previous games and viable. So many good perks for it and playing on survival can be so satisfying. That sneak 2.0x bonus and a head shot with critical with a rifle from far away is so fun against a raider or whatever, especially when you play carefully and slowly on survival. I love using the environment too with shooting canisters to explode them from far away etc. I've had some interesting chain reactions.

Can you craft additional power armour racks?

I've seend someone building with like four of them, but unsure if he has just removed them from other settlements or made them himself.

can anyone tell me real quick whether there is any achievements tied to beating the game on different difficulties? i'm starting a new game and want to start on hard but just wondering if i have the option of dropping the difficulty down just in case hard is too hard? would i then miss out on an achievement for beating the game on hard or..? thx.

No difficulty achievements.

Yes. I wasn't really feeling it the first day I played it, but the second day when I really started exploring it clicked for me. Loving it.

You can craft them in a settlement. I forget what menu they're under though.

I love this game. I jumped into some area called the national ration reserve through a hatch in a church last night and took me 2 hours to fight my way out of it. I went in a boy and came out a man.

No one does exploration like Bethesda- not Obsidian- no one. It's the reason why I loved fallout 3 and the reason why this will be one of my favorite games not only of the year but of this generation so far.

I did the same thing last night haha. Bethesda does such a great job putting little trapdoors to huge areas and leading you on an unexpected adventure.

Radiation sucks

Seriously, fuck grenades. No time to avoid them and get one shotted.

Grenades are super strong in this game. I love using them to clear out rooms. I don't think I ever used them in 3 or NV.

On the other hand, fuck the enemy grenade and moltov spam. It's like I'm playing CoD WaW on Veteran sometimes.

Use vats you can shoot them out of the sky

wat, mind blown.

I had a ghoul mutate into a legendary glowing ghoul. It got stuck on the door so it was easy to kill but in that same building a found another legendary glowing ghoul that wasnt so easy to finish off. I got 2 pieces of armor, which sucks cuz I don't wear armor.

Cheers, one of the things that shows this is a great game is that i'm sat at work thinking about these things, i'd have checked ingame if I were at home! It's sunk it's claws in to me now, you could easily waste hours just building settlements (dependant on the junk you have of course) and making them look great, and that's just in Sanctuary!

If you have the notification bug saying "Build something that requires power."

Try this:

Same with me. I too was having that constant notification, but the water purification system finally did away with it. Definitely that constantly notification is a bug, because many times I was getting my electricity working (w/ conduits, wires, the whole shibang), yet it never went away until water purification was involved.

Build a water purification unit and run power to it.

One great little touch is that log entries in terminals will update to reflect stuff that you've done/people you killed. I found a raider hideout where the leader, Red, was sending supplies to a rival group because they had taken her sister prisoner. After clearing out that spot and killing everyone, about 10 hours later I found the hideout of the other raider group -- and their leader's terminal had an entry lamenting the death of Red since it meant he could no longer extort her for supplies. Pretty awesome.

Stupid question: Are there schematics in this game to craft new weapons, like the Deathclaw Gauntlet from FO3? Just wondering, since the modifications to melee weapons are rather limited.

Question for people who are sensitive to framerate drops and are playing on PS4 - how's the performance once you start venturing south more? I'm worried that the performance may get worse as the game progresses.

I've notice the framerate dips for no reason on the PS4, I can only imagine there is stuff going on in the background that isn't present on screen.

I'll report back if it heads south when I head south.

Wish there was a way to turn my house into a love shack. It doesn't feel right making sweet gentle love to Codsworth without a heart shaped bed.

But enough about real life, I'd also like to see that in Fallout 4.

Not that I've seen. However, I have found a Deathclaw gauntlet that you can add an extra claw to. The melee mods are kind of limited though the bat is pretty sweet.

I ran into a Super Mutant Master and his buddies and decided to come back later.... when I came back my fucking minutemen boys and girls had cleared them out! Fuck yeah.

Does anyone know if, when you dump all your junk into a bench, it's available at all the other work benches? Or can you only access it at the bench you dumped your stuff at?

Sorry if this has been answered before, this thread's moving faster than a feral ghoul.

Ah shit, I hope I didn't ruin a bunch of the quest by looting the entire comic book store for kicks last night. It definitely seemed like it was an environment for a quest but I wanted some swag.

Nah don't worry, getting the stuff is just the beginning.

Inside the same settlement, yes, between settlements?, nope, you need the local leader perk and setup a trade route between settlements

What's the penalty for failing to defend a settlement? Everyone dies?

Also I killed a raider in power armor, how do I put his power armor on?
Seems like I only got pieces from him, do you need a chassis, is having the torso a chassis?

You can't loot the frames off of corpses, if they die in there it's practically useless. You can only loot the armor pieces and slap them on another frame, plenty of those scattered around the wasteland. I just acquired my fifth. :p

Yeah, killing someone in armor isn't enough to just put it on. You can loot the pieces and then swap them out on a chassis that you can enter (including the one you get in the first hour, plus others scattered around).

Before I left the vault I changed my name to Bruce. I saw that the developer had added that one. But Codsworth keeps calling me sir. Should I have named my character Bruce the very first time during character creation, is that it?
