I dunno how you guys do it, I'm playing on Normal and this game is kicking my ass sometimes.

Just had a ridiculous firefight with a bunch of seriously overpowered Super Mutants (including two legendaries). They followed me as I ran from them, wiped out a group of raiders and started destroying Synths when we stumbled upon University Point. Started shooting at them through a broken window with a Rocket Launcher, dodging grenades and slowly seeing the health of my last remaining piece of power armor break. :lol

My fat man was on Dog Meat, so I was unable to test it out on such a group of clustered enemies. A shame. :'(

I got say I'm incredibly happy that PS4/Xbox One has suspend/resume features. Makes playing this more enjoyable when coming back to it.

Just met a pack of ghouls for the first time, they seem a lot more challenging than 3 from what I can remember.

First time I met them was in a underground garage. I saw two at a distance thinking they were easy targets. Pulled out my pistol and shot one then 5 of them started fucking charging at me. I panic and threw a grenade and blew myself up.

i dread the moment i arrive at this point with my character - its when i start to lose interest as the world holds no more things to fear

I'm loving it. Plasma is really expensive and hard to come by so you can't just load up and wreck shop. I save it for da big bosses.

I have barely done the main quest, and instead went exploring. Found a random raider with power armor and a fat man. Let's just say I am now the proud owner of both.

Reminds me of the Dying Light zombies the way they charge at you but probably quicker.

Hi, quick question, I haven't played the game due to being at uni,the game being at home and I have exams. My little brother who can handle bad language wants to play it, is there any forced adult situations or anything which could be an issue? Blood etc is fine as well.

I have to say, this game is subpar on consoles.

  • Joystick control isn't great. This is coming off Halo 5 so eh
  • Framerate in combat is a joke, sub-30 in almost every interior encounter and most exterior encounters
  • Clunky menu's, they don't flow nearly as well as Skyrim's did
  • Load times, oh my god the load times. Trying to use VANS (VANS not VATS), takes atleast 2~3 seconds while it thinks about what the best path is. Meanwhile it's usally wrong on the what the best path is.
  • No magnetic aiming, or any sort of auto aim. VATS kind of takes care of this but can be infuriating at times too.
  • VATS is slow. Maybe I'm not used to it, but choosing your target then watching your shoot animation, only to miss, is god damn rediculous.

I hate Dogmeat. I can never find the little bastard in Sanctuary. Isn't even in the doghouse.

Keep in mind there are several doghouses, I've seen him at 3 myself different times I was wandering through town.

I plan to eventually start scrapping all the ones except the one by my house.

I know there is no level cap...but surely the game at some point stops giving you perk points ? Looking at the perk chart, they seem to have a soft cap of lvl 50 (The rank 3 tier 10 perks)...possibly you stop getting perk points at 50 ? (Otherwise you could theoretically max out every perk if you played long enough)

Although, Ive also noticed mobs below your level, dont award xp. (I went to an area I previously visited, the enemies were a cake walk...but I was not getting xp from the kills), so once you hit lvl 50 and completed all the quests in the end game, how does one gain xp to keep leveling up ?

I'm currently lvl 20

How do I select perks?

Im a level 3 (just before the concord mission where you meet the
minutemen
). I go into the pipboy. I hit triangle. And now what? I can't select X over any of the perks despite being a level 2 of anything. Ideas? Can I not pick perks yet?

So I'm doing the Freedom Trail quest and I'm...

...at the part where you have to spin the wheel to get into the Railroad. I didn't check what was written on the medallions on the way seeing as the city is full of fucking enimies so I'm stuck. Does anyone know what the password to get in is?

Any help would be appreciated.

If you meet the requirements of the perk you can hit x. (If you have enough of the stat it requires)

You need to have the prerequisite points in one of the top row of attributes before you can invest in the perks below them. So if you have 5 strength, you can buy one of the five perks below it.

Well there are enemies level 45+ the further south you go.

I do have the requirements. Like I have two stars in at least everything and some of them 5 (including 8 intelligence), yet I can only add stars to the base stats, I can't choose perks.

Should I be able to select a perk? Do I need to hit anything?

That is odd, when I leveled up it let me choose a perk and then the perk turned colored instead of greyed out. I think I Just pressed X maybe it was a different button. Make sure you have a perk point? Otherwise I am unsure.

Obvious question... But do you actually have any points to distribute ? (There should be a number in brackets if you do)

Each level you are given 1pt which you need to put into either your base stats or a perk

So I heard something in the middle of the night, looked into the sky and something happend.
Had to look for it, took an hour.

There was no loot tho :-(

Yeah somebody already spoiled that last night, too. I'm not gonna make a scene or anything, but that would have been cool to find independently. Looks awesome!

So uh...I took the last two levels to increase my Luck instead of getting any perks. Was that stupid? I really wanted more luck...
I'm level 7 by the way.

I encountered a game-stopping bug within the first 5 min of plyaing on my XBO version :p
after you sign up for vault-tec and the news of the nuclear bombs dropping ends, you're supposed to immediately head over to Vault 111, but I could't get out of the house. Apparently, when the event triggers, the front door is supposed to open automatically and you just leave, but in my first playthrough, the door never opened and I couldn't interact with it so I was just stuck in the house. Luckily, re-loading a previous save fixed it.

There is closeby though! ;) (It's not in outside though, if that helps) Where would someone take shelter after such event?

But do the conversational successes give you anything that a conversational fail would not? Other than caps

Sure, I mean, a few times I've changed the course of a quest through conversational success. It's like the old games in that regard. Persuasion checks can sometimes offer an alternate path through a situation.

Ah cool, I think I have 5 charisma and usually "try" to win the checks

Is it safe to deposit gear in sanctuary? I remember it beeing a thing in Fallout 3 that gear could disappear if you didn't deposit it in your own house in Megaton.

Or am I completely mistaken? Because I'm a hoarder.

What do you mean? Where would this number appear?

I have yet to get any perks (100%) or base stats (other than the beginning 80%) I believe.

Is having a high Charisma build really good? Looking online and reading that having high Charisma is the most important compared to others.

You read wrong. Only local leader makes people think that. Speech options in this game are a joke, and failing them barely means anything in the long run.

Transfer everything into benches.
