Nintendo Direct coming November 12 [Over]

Holy Shiiiieeeettttt. Fire Emblem Triple Threat, all those special editions (I'm a total sucker for them), Twilight Princess HD, and Cloud in Smash = my poor wallet.

Will I even be able to buy any PS4 games next year? :p

That was pretty terrible. TPHD looks bad.

Sure they haven't updated the textures, but I'm holding out on what actual improvements they made. Already they're doing an orchestral version of the soundtrack shown with the available soundtrack.

Hopefully they will follow the standard set with WW for game adjustments. Then I'll judge it.

So Minecraft was not a thing after all? I'm somewhat disappointed I have to say - I was looking forward to play this in Splitscreen/Off-Screen mode...

That was a ok direct, it had enough stuff that had me interested. That moment where I went from feeling content to "OMGWTF CLOUD IN MY SMASH?!?!?!?!?" was pretty great too. Pretty happy with what I saw.

I'm closer and closer to betting that Zelda Wii U will let you choose your gender. The Link we've seen has been super androgynous so far (especially the little bit today), and this Linkle reveal just confirms they're willing to acknowledge the idea.

Zero reason Link can't be a girl is most of those games, the romance is usually barely evident.

Here is how I judge these type of things.

Were there things I will/might buy?

Yes? Then it was good.

It lacked any OMG I NEED DISSSS type stuff but for what it was and considering Nintendo is in transition mode..it was a solid direct with a bunch of games I will probably buy.

Agreed, only thing I might buy that they really showed is fire emblem and thats a big if, ba dum tsh. To be expected, Tthey probably switched every team not currently working on a game to NX by now.

I just realized there was no Iwata tribute :(

Well, Reggie acknowledged that his death was a thing that happened while staring at the camera like a serial killer, so there's that.

Seriously, Reggie should stop doing these. He's really bad at them. >_>

Otherwise, holy shit, I am satisfied. I loved my 3DS already but damn. And I love that Cloud was just out the fucking blue.

I'm sad!! They didn't show nothing about Shin Megami Tensei IV Final!!!

PD: what the hell is wrong with GAF? DId Cloud break it or what?

Dragon Quest VII and VIII TOO!!!! WHOAAA

Also, the XCX data packs don't seem to be on the eShop yet, Bill said I could start downloading them today, am I missing something?

Nevermind, data packs just went up like 10 seconds ago!!!

Maybe I misheard but I swear they said you could download the additionnal data pack for Xenoblade ahead of release ? Doesn't appear to be up at the moment, figure it'll be later.

If I heard correctly (I was playing Fallout 4 at the same time) they said even people buying the physical version of Xenoblade X will be able to pre-load the day one patch. Why isn't every AAA game doing this? Why isn't every game just making patches publicly available like PC games used to do?

Meh who cares about Cloud.

The worrisome thing is that I haven'T seen Yo-kai watch for Europe, not even on the 2016 segment.
Now that's shitty.

The only thing that bothers me is they played with Wolf fans hearts by showing open space like that, (not gonna lie my feels are stinging a bit because of it) but as long as he comes back im ok with it.

Fire Emblems Special Edition up for pre-order on Amazon. Get it while it's hot.

Zelda still not up on Amazon. Wonder what the hold up is?

Also, do we have any news on when all those additional Animal Crossing amiibos will be on sale?

This shit is causing me some mad anxiety.

It was one of those excellent Directs where, at the end, you have to remind yourself "Oh yeah! They announced Twilight Princess HD!"

Most delighted about Dragon Quest VII being localised. Though I hold up hope that a Dragon Quest VIII HD will be announced eventually, at least the 3DS version is coming too. I'd probably buy it just to support Dragon Quest in the west.

Just...a great show. Even the eShop games, usually being shovelware, actually looked like they could be decent games this time. It hasn't been since the Direct last year when they announced Majora's Mask 3D that I've felt so upbeat about Nintendo.

Not to mention Square-Enix. They are absolutely on fire right now.

Very dull middle portion and I still think Bill is a mediocre presenter, but good stuff overall.

I 100% agree, but I also think it'll be more than just choosing gender.

Any idea if the Lucas amiibo will be available for pre-order today, or should I stop refreshing the Amazon placeholder page?

That song they played was in the original trailer, and game. It's the only orchestral song in the game, it plays if you let the title screen sit for a while. So they probably aren't redoing the soundtrack

Lots of stuff on 3ds to buy next year + continued Splatoon support = more than happy with that Direct. Poor wallet-kun though ;_;

Overall, I was satisfied with the Direct. It wasn't the best direct, but because there was so much downtime between now and the last one, they kind of had to play a bit of catch up. Still, there were quite a few good announcements that came out of there.

Twilight Princess HD, Hyrule Warriors & Zelda Wii U made it for me. Despite the Wii U teaser being small, it was enough to get my hype up. Whether it's been moved to the NX or not, I'm still beyond excited for it. Twilight Princess HD looked fine. It looked like what you'd expect from an HD edition. The Wolf Link amiibo also looked great. I'm just waiting for Amazon to put up the pre-order.

Linkle is a great addition, and I hope she becomes canon. I loved the look of the character after I saw the original artwork.

When I heard that FF7 music I instantly knew it was FF7 but couldn't believe my ears. I just didn't know what was coming, and that isn't what I fucking expected at all. What I expected was FF7 port to Wii U from like, playstation days or something. What I got was so, SO much better.

#gamechanger

This is support I hope Nintendo keeps pushing. Every single damn game should allow this considering how vital patches are in this day and age.

Fucking fantastic.

Oh, man. I really, really, really need someone to fix HANS eShop access on 9.9. I don't want to lose Themehax, but, man, DQ7, DQ8, Hyrule Warriors Legends, Fire Emblem Fates, Pokémon Picross... I NEED THOSE GAMES!

Just preodered Twilight Princess HD and the Fire Emblem Fates collectors edition at best buy with GCU discounts.

Today was a good day.
