Here is how I judge these type of things.
Were there things I will/might buy?
Yes? Then it was good.
It lacked any OMG I NEED DISSSS type stuff but for what it was and considering Nintendo is in transition mode..it was a solid direct with a bunch of games I will probably buy.
Cloud is hype tho. Then again more sword dudes with the same FS but then again Cloud..and all the FF music that will come with him hopefully.
Smash Direct next Month is pretty hype too

-TPHD, exactly as I expected it. No incredible upgrades but worth buying it again, DAT WOLF though, DAY 1.

This direct was fantastic for me. The 3DS is going to continue getting a workout in 2016... love me some good RPG's.

Ya know even though there is a bunch of nintendo characters missing id like to see in smash including wolf as a vet and yeah there is another anime swordsman in the cast, not to mention the fact ive never played FF7 and really dont care about FF in general.
The truth is I cant even be mad right now Cloud is somehow is smash brothers and Im baffled. Im glad he is in, the amount of people that I know who are happy from this is amazing and it Im glad as a result.

Well. One is a massive and perpetual success for 15 years whereas the other was just a copycat. Makes sense they stuck with pedigree.

That was pretty terrible. TPHD looks bad, there weren't any good announcements, and the Smash character was Cloud.
NX confirmed for 2016 with Zelda U though, which is nice to know.

Zelda U looked much more like the E3 of last year compared to the footage during the game awards. Really like all the grass.

I think the ff7 remake was billed as "first on playstation" from day 1. i've just assumed it meant the xbone version would take an extra 6 or 12 months to come out. maybe this means an nx version is now on the table too.

That was the best Nintendo Direct in a very long time. The absence of Rhythm Heaven was the only disappointment but it could still be announced next year.
