End game power armor question
So I got the jetpack from BoS, how do I use it? Can't find it anywhere

God I'm in a tough spot where I need companions to be my Ranged back up but at the same time I'm a stealth guy so having to constantly tell them to stay back at the entrance so I can stealth is annoying.

Hit level 30 this morning. Got Blitz 2 which is about as amazing as I expected. Melee gets fuckin' crazy in this game. Next up is getting Ninja 3, at which point I really wonder if anything will survive a sneak attack.

Also got Blacksmith 3 just before I quit and made an Extended Ripper. Haven't actually tried a Ripper yet in F4, should be fun. The tooltip damage is quite low compared to my Heated Sledge (which I think before chems is like ~225 + 50) but if it hits as fast as it did in F3/FNV it is going to be good times.

Seriously though, get Blitz.
I saw blitz but the description didn't sound amazing for a guy with a stealth melee build. I can already get fairly close to enemies with no issue. What's my incentive?

So how much harder is Very Hard difficulty compared Hard difficulty? I'm not really finding the Hard difficulty to be a challenge.

Around level 30ish I went from Normal to Hard to Survival and it's still pretty easy. I only die if I get really overwhelmed or a stray grenade explodes in my face.

Yeah I posted about Blitz yesterday too. It and ninja makes melee so broken.

You blitz to first guy and sneak attack him -> dead -> blitz to second guy and you still get sneak attack in many cases -> dead -> and repeat and repeat...

Basically blitz makes you a teleporting assassin.

So I know this has been asked before, but how do I use local leader now that I have it? What command do I give to my settlers?

Highlight a settler and a new option should be there to establish a trade route. For PC, it's 'Q', and you'll be able to send them to other settlements for trade.

So this is my first Fallout game and I feel like a lot of basic stuff is pretty obfuscated from my understanding. Anything concerning what weapons I should use, how strong I am, and how to get stronger is a mystery. Any tips for a newbie?

Made a new RP character. Mad Scientist Lady, 10 Intellect, 10 Luck, 4 Agility, 1 everything else. Chem addict.

Super fun to play, focusing on radiation weapons and Chem abuse. Sarcastic conversation style.

Does blitz not fuck up stealth?

Cause if not I have some skills in my build progression I am taking of (I don't need hacking with this build as long as I have decent lockpicking) so fuck it I'll get blitz.

Edit: welp. Maybe blitz is what I needed to become a lone assassin

You have to
craft it at a power armour station, modify the torso, to be precise. Unfortunately you have to have some very high level perks, I think level 4 at both Blacksmith and that Science one, so I haven't been able to use it yet.

Press start and go to Help. There's way more info there than people think tbh.

Ask here as well of course :)

I wish my character would shut the fuck up about the dead husband and stolen baby I don't give a single fuck about. Wish I had a dialogue option that was just "Finally I can start living!" instead of 4 different versions of "My baby!"

This forced character and atrocious dialogue system is ruining an otherwise enjoyable time

Mainly being able to launch a stealth opener on a guy who is on the other side of the room regardless of whether you could get to him unseen normally. Also being able to just teleport between multiple guys with guns who are all trying to spread out. And being an additional damage multiplier at rank 2.

It's just so much easier to land sneak attacks when you can be standing in a dark corner and just VATS a guy who is standing out in the open. If you can get a starting position where multiple enemies are within range (and at rank 2 that is not hard at all, the range is crazy) you can just queue up 1 - 2 - 3, guarantee the first guy explodes and the other two are already screwed before they can even react.

SPECIAL stats control strength, specifically the Strength stat. I think you can level up SPECIAL on level up in this game, but I haven't tried it to confirm. Weapons get stronger with part modifications and perks (available on each level up). Old Fallout games had lots more stats to upgrade specifically (guns, science, etc) but this one has abandoned them in favour of weapon mods and more immediately accessible perks.

Fuck didn't realize Blitz was a level fucking 9 agility. I need to find three spots in my current build I'm willing to change two of them to spending points on agility and one into blitz. I only have my current build until level 42 though so anything afterwards is fair game.

Need some rethinking and fucking around to add the agility points and the two blitz not too far away from where I am.

Fallout 4 and The Joy of Painting

It's probably just me and usually I never really worry about these things,,but just now I had to access my map to see something. I then zoomed out and well....it sure seems small. It clearly is indeed no Skyrim, but surely it can't be smaller than Fallout 3. And damn.. there rather big spot of water on the right.... I hope I'm wrong on that though.

I don't mind the vanilla look at all but I've always gotten ENBs and this one is freaking great! Keeps color but also makes it even more depressing, making textures pop more, adds darker shadows to make things even more creepy (especially as a stealth character), the list can go on but I recommend for PC players :D

Mod for the torso power armor piece I believe
Yep, just got it.
You have to go to the power armor station. No materials needed. It's a lot of fun but on the downside, fusion core depletes really fast.

Thanks!
No perks or levels are needed to craft it since I got it as a gift from BoS last mission.

About to start my first playthrough, videocard came in.

Really only one question, difficulty. What is a good spot to start? I don't want it to be a cakewalk but want to wait for a survival playthrough.

Any armour and clothes I can purchase to increase my carry weight? Also whats the max carry weight go to? Currently at 380 with pocketed gear equipped.

It took me a lot longer than that before it did. I was kind of down on it after the first day. But then it really fucking clicked with me. It's getting close to being my favorite Fallout. Definitely my favorite Bethesda game. Wish you could have a companion plus Dogmeat though.
Oh, what? That's a bit disappointing to hear. I'm happy to just have me and Dogmeat for this first playthrough, but a human companion would be preferable. Luckily that's one of the main things people will want modded, so by I get to character 2 it will be possible.

In other news, I got hit with the elevator glitch. Wasn't too painful, I got back to where I was in a few minutes.

I thought so too at first, and after spending my first four hours with the game I was fairly worried because it felt a bit empty on top of small. However, much of the action is delegated to the middle section of the map, where Boston is. Boston is dense and tall.

That's not to say there isn't plenty of action or exploration above it (or below it, but I haven't reached that far yet (in over 45 hours of gameplay!)).

Hope this helps you keep playing without that sinking feeling.

I'm so close to just saying fuck it and increase the weight limit per console. Right now I'm just playing a inventory simulator after every single quest. The companion doesnt help that much either

So is there a best companion?

Dogmeat by far if you're using the Lone Wanderer perk.

Ok, i'm constantly getting a mission by Preston once i finish a mission. Are these endless? Because if you read the text of the quest it presents itself as there being negative consequences to one of my settlements if i don't do it. I've done like 6-7 similar ones now...

Those are endless missions, yes.

Okay level 18 now on very hard and it is getting easier. After I got the
Laser weapon from Cambridge Police station and upgraded it
I only have trouble with deathclaws and the like. That being said I havent gone south or east of
charleston
eeeek this game is bigger than I thought

Ooooh that's good hear. Yeah in 3 I never paid any attention to this and enjoyed it immensely, and never once did I think it was small, but ever since DAI and Witcher 3 I definitely am paying attention to that.

Kill some creatures and cook their meat or find Dirty Water and turn it into Purified Water.

Some ways to gain HP without Stimpacks.

I have a lot of those, but Stim-Packs are king. I feel like some monsters take too many hits without dropping anything useful. One glowing mirelurk was so hard to kill :/

guys, 40 fusion cores and 3 points in the INT rank 9 perk (the one that makes cores last longer)

I think its time to roll around in style
