that I almost missed the USS Constitution quest is a crime

survival is already too easy, no need for power armor to lower the difficulty even more.
Really? Any early-game tips for survival? I'm getting wrecked, basically get one-shotted by insects when I'm in power armor. Finding almost zero ammo, VATS has shit accuracy... should be I going towards Diamond City at level 8?

Guys i'm pretty sure the companions are kinda fucked, they tend not show up where i tell them after i dismiss them,i'm afraid they are lost forever D:
Also i did a mission in corvega and it did chug a bit but nothing like those DF videos where it goes as low as 15FPS, Fallout 4 runs great 90% of the time on my PS4, the remaining 10% is minor dips.

It really depends on your build. If your build is not good for combat then it of course is still difficult.

Luck, Agi is two of the most important combat attributes, Per is important too. If you put 10 points to stuff like Cha, Int you will have a hard time.
Get dmg increase perk, critical bank perk, fill critical meter perk etc and you should have a much easier time. Oh, and dont start using automatic weapon too early because it costs too many ammo ;)

Yeah i'm getting good performance on PS4. I have played a good 35 hours at least, and haven't gotten more than few noticeable dips. Overall the game is running quite smoothly

Building a house for these settlers is so frustrating. I tried building one in Sanctuary after triggering that Minutemen quest. Knocked down a crumbled house next to the house with the Power Armor rack, but the camera angle is too close to see what the heck you're doing. Even laying down a floor is hair pulling, can't even imagine building a multistory home or fort. There should be a drag and drop size option.

Well Bloodbugs specifically counter armor due to poison. To beat those easily,
use area of effect things like explosives or my favorite, the flamer. And bring Codsworth with you

There are definite frame rate dips, but performance on the whole is fine.

Certainly nothing sustained beyond a few seconds.

Game also looks brilliant at times.

You guys aren't getting massive frame drops when deep in the downtown area? Other areas are pretty much fine for me, but the frame rate when in the city (particularly the area outside around Goodneighbor) is almost unplayable at times. For indoor areas, there was a toy horse factory infested with Super Mutants that was particularly bad as well.

I agree that the game looks great though.

You can hold X (PS4) and X + L1 to get additional placement maneuvers. It still isn't the best, but they've helped me out a few times.

This gun is kinda crazy.

I enjoy the game but man this feels like so many steps backwards from FO3 and NV. Quests do not seem to leave any room for choice, and dialogue seems to have no real role in anything outside a couple of speech checks. Most speech checks have no difference in anything, just extra caps or an unimportant extra line or two of dialogue.

I dislike the ranks of perks being level locked also now that the the skill system from 3/NV is gone, there are like 7-8 levels between my ability to stengthen attacks, and I hate that I got materials for crafting great armours/mods but cannot do that for like another 15 or 20 levels if I want the best ones.

Game is holding me back too much, 3/NV never felt like that.

Those areas are the only ones I have noticed drops in. Even then, it might chug for a second or two, then it's smooth sailing from there. Like I said, I have only gotten about 4-5 noticeable instances of frame drops. Really impressed what with all I heard about the game. Maybe I'm just lucky hahaha

The Xbox One version struggles with urban areas and anything involving verticality.

Boston itself is a bit of a dice roll when it comes to whether things will work as they should, and even out in the wastelands, climbing any towers to get a view of the skyline really breaks things down. I climbed the walkways of a power station chimney fairly early on in the game and I'm pretty certain it dipped well below 20fps.

The Xbox One version seems totally fine to me outside of that. But it's absolutely noticeable when it happens.

This gun is kinda crazy.

This gun basically replaced my souped up 10mm pistol. I don't think it's more powerful than
Kellog's
.44mm handcannon upgraded, but it still looks cool cause it's a Makarov.

Speaking of which, is the Chinese assault rifle in FO4 at all? I remember it being in FO3 and I think New Vegas. I just want it cause it's basically the AK-47.

Some parts of the city are totally fine. But when you get in deep around the tall buildings it chugs the entire time for me.

Usually when I start getting framerate issues, I've been playing for a while. A reboot of the game seems to resort the biggest issues for me.

What sort of weight limits do people have, I'm running around with a 250 limit, and it fills way too fast, especially if junk collecting.

Think I'm up to 480 now, even more in Power Armor.

230 or so standard. But I always have power armor on so 330. I also have a companion with me so add their limit to that. And I always keep 2 buffouts on me just in case.

The VATS cost and accuracy up is pretty big even compared to that gun.

Interestingly enough you don't have a shadow in first-person. But you do in third. And like with NPC's and enemies, it's of a surprisingly high resolution.

Perhaps it could have been an idea to reduce it for better performance.

Not actual spoiler:
Yes,I'm actually talking about downgrading the most graphically ridiculed game of the year.

companion stuff

- Preston left for the castle whatever mission, now after I'm done with that if I talk to him I can't trade anymore, or ask him to join me. how am I supposed to get my items back

- Cait is lost in the limbo, sent her to red rocket and she vanished. after stealing random shit in Diamond City she wanted to sex me so it's a bit sad.

- Piper's story and reasoning is amazing "hey I'd like to interview you - AND AFTER THAT I want to join you and kill some mutants together because why not it's not like I have a job or a kid to give a fuck about" "s-sure.."
