i'm not the biggest fan of mayweathers style but he at least fights people who are world class opponents. rousey was fighting a bunch of tomato cans and the first opponent with skill she faces and she gets humiliated.
Yeah I kinda agree with this. I really do not like Floyd, like at all, but his talent should be respected. No he's not very exciting or entertaining to watch but the man is damn good at winning boxing matches which is his job.
Nah. Tell me Ronda's strategy for getting it to the ground in the first place. I guess if Mayweather stands there, doesn't move, and lets her reach and clinch with no defense from him then awesome. She will eat at least 1 or 2 punches as soon as she steps within his range. He's also precise in his technique, so she will get hit where she doesn't want to get hit.
Meanwhile, lay on the ground? Lol, Mayweather is intelligent as hell when it comes to fighting. He's not being baited into that kind of nonsense. There's no point to it nor anyone to fall for that strategy.

The UFC has convinced people that all MMA fighters need to do is slip a punch and grab-insta-win a boxer. It's not so easy against someone with decent striking, which most fighters in the UFC certainly lack.
Add in footwork into the mix, and one will see it's easier said than done.

Yeah, that's actually mostly what I mean by him just allowing her to grab him and take him down. That shit is hard to do when you're facing a better conditioned athlete who spends their entire career working on footwork and angles to find openings (or close them).
Ronda was tired out by the 2nd round. Ridiculous to even suggest she even has the cardio to hang with Floyd, who would be constantly moving and shifting angles to get a hit in. Same story for any fight involving her and any other decent striker, doesn't even have to be an elite boxer.

The match started off with a standoff, requiring striking to proceed. Ronda had to take a hit each time just to get in a grapple situation. She doesn't have the ability or experience to deal with Floyd's speed, precision, accuracy and power. She doesn't have the defense, reflexes or anything in particular to prevent getting hit.
The thing is, UFC has never really attracted great boxers, or strikers in general, since they could make much more money in that sport leavong only washed up or relatively bad strikers in UFC early on. Even today there's the same problem for boxers who can make a lot more as an average boxer than as an average UFC/MMA competitor.

Yup. Ronda got flustered and started panicking when the easy-win didn't happen. Chased Holly around the ring during the whole fight which caused her to gas out by the 2nd round.
Ronda had nothing left for the 3rd round even if she somehow escaped the 2nd. It was a devastating loss that clearly showed she was outclassed and exposed.
It's the type of loss that probably makes Ronda question herself as a fighter.

Its tough to call if Ronda could beat Mayweather, but any male 145 pounder in the UFC would kill him. Doesn't matter how good of a boxer you are, if thats all you have, you're going down.

Ronda couldn't deal with the same straight left over and over. No concept of range. No grasp of levels or head movement. Never heard of angles. Zero feints. Gassed out in a minute.
Floyd could've picked every hair off of her head. Ronda couldn't even deal with boxing 101. Floyd wouldn't even have to worry about "what if if goes to the ground". She'd never get anywhere near him.

I believe and Know Holly is a Mixed Matrial Artist who is trained in all dimensions of fighting. Mayweather isn't trained in anything other than boxing, but I'm still saying he would probably win 9/10 times. Doesn't matter how strong you are, if a professional grappler gets a hold of you and you don't know how to defend, you're in trouble (unless there is a humongous weight difference).
I don't watch or like superhero movies and I'm not even going to post my accolades and experience because I don't want to look like an internet tough guy, but I've been watching MMA and Boxing for over a decade. I hate Ronda as much as the next guy, she would win on the ground. Its just getting there that poses huge problems.

Holly was never threatened by a Rousey takedown and most if not all Holly's accolades are from the boxing discipline, iirc.
A trained, disciplined fighter like Mayweather would punish her with strikes a lot worse than Holm did...and Holm destroyed her with consecutive straight lefts to the face.

If Ronda did fight him, she would not try to stand for a second. Ronda actually tried to stand with Holm right off the bat and got blasted in the nose and that messed up her breathing.

It is my belief that Floyd would make her stand and fight and her shoot attempts would be largely nullified by his footwork and impeccable counterpunching.
