I have a separate room with four chests to store stuff I don't want to risk somehow losing through the workbench. Different ones for weapons, old mods, apparel, and certain aid stuff I want isolated. I just don't even want to tempt fate.

I still carry all the miscellaneous stuff on my person since the vast majority of it is weightless.

So one of my legendary armor pieces basically renders me invisible whenever I'm not moving. Up until this point I've been a good person and not stealing everything out from under people's noses.

This is now no longer the case. It's amazing what you can get away with when you stay motionless. Been robbing everyone blind, aw yeah.

So I was doing this quest from Diamond City and it required me to go to some gang meeting and kill everyone, the bar tender Henry Cooke asked me to do it for him, I told him to go first after he told me to back him up. During the battle, the other guy from town who was doing the deal fled, and the Henry guy was dead, I'm assuming he got blown up by some of the grenades I through in the battle. His dead body has his house key and a couple of other items, I didn't fail the mission and it basically just opened a dungeon location on the map for me after interrogating Trish the leader - the chem lab. Does the game need Henry alive? It seems like the guy who asked me to beat him up before that triggered this quest line said he didn't care if I killed him or not so I wonder what's going to become of the bar, hopefully this won't break anything and I can complete this quest.

It doesn't matter.
If he's alive after the gang street fight he tells you that he's leaving town as the heat from the deal would be a bit too much on him if he stayed. I also killed the other guy from DC when he wanted to split the cash, I told his ass I'd be keeping all of it since he didn't do a single damn thing. He didn't like that and tried to pull a gun on me, his last mistake. Too bad for his wife though, she asked about him when I eventually returned to the city and all the game allowed me to say was "I don't know." Oh well, it was her fault really.

You can always pickpocket people right in front of them. Just higher % from stats, perks and items makes it easier. The thing that doesn't make sense are items sitting around. It requires you to be hidden. You can still be detected with the chameleon armor. And, for some places, you still get notice even when you are hidden, Goodneighbor comes to mind.

Well, I've run into the first bug that really annoys me. Can't remember what town I'm in but trying to get to Diamond City and apparently if I try to go through this town in the direction Diamond City is the game reliably crashes. I think it's a certain area but for whatever reason, the game doesn't like it. I don't know why but I suspect it has something to do with the legendary radstag (or whatever they are called) that spawned there (at least when I first encountered it was right after killing it and moving on a few feet).

I'm hoping that either by fast traveling somewhere and back maybe it will remove whatever condition is causing it to crash or that if I go to an earlier save (don't want to but will) that will fix it.

About assigning settlers to farming.

Is there a limit to how many each settler is assigned to?

Do I have to assign a settler to each individual plant?

Well that's what I meant - it's the items sitting around that I'm yoinking. I'm completely hidden as long as I stay still - occasionally it'll say "detected" after I take something, but if I wait until it reverts back to Hidden I don't get in any trouble. Goodneighbor is the first town I've done this is, actually - been taking everything not nailed down and nobody's said a peep yet.

My new favorite thing is to run around finding Suicide Mutants:

Blowing them up is INCREDIBLY satisfying when a bunch of Super Mutants are trying to team up on you and they end up taken out by their own guy.

Is it possible to change the Brotherhoods stance on synths? Just a yes or no answer would be appreciated.

I hope you can. It was a bit shocking to find out how bigoted and unaccepting to new races they are.

Definitely doing this going forward from this point. I'm annoyed with myself for trusting Bethesda to not screw this up. I should have known better.

Spent an hour clearing out trees, fences, and broken furniture in Sanctuary. Not my definition of fun but I kept doing it till it clear. Not sure if I'll be doing all this housekeeping at other settlements...yet.

There are, what, over
30
settlements, something like that? The moment I found out, I stopped paying subsequent settlements as much attention.

Kind of how our parents treat younger siblings, lol.

I am playing a stealth sniper, have all stealth base stats / perks max for my current lvl and have been stealing everything since the beginning. In Goodneighbor mayor's building, I could be hidden in a empty room with the door closed, steal something, leave the room and everyone is aggro. Same thing happens on the BoS airship, but I am able to steal stuff in the armory. Makes no sense where you can and can't.

Well shit, if that's happening it must be a glitch or something because the game is never supposed to automatically scrap that stuff. I just tried it myself at a weapons workbench I never use and the game didn't recognize any of the shitty generic weapons I had stored there as parts for crafting mods. Hurm.

Same here.

Of course now I'm kicking myself because I thought these WOULD be broken down automatically but they're not (or at least they're not supposed to apparently). I've been dumping EVERYTHING for the last 55 hours or so at this Workbench, I have probably hundreds if not thousands of weapon and armor pieces I'll either have to scrap manually, or I guess sell for caps if needed. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing lol.

Got to the Glowing Sea, pretty neat area.

Got this, wish I had it for the
Queen lol.

Also killed a legendary Deathclaw and all I got was some wrench. I was so disappointed that I forgot to take a screenshot of it!

I'm constantly surprised by the visuals on ultra @ 1080. To think I didn't think it looked good from the initial images.

The sniper rifle is absurd diesel if you perk into extra damage for single shot rifles, BTW. I can't recall where I found it, near the start of the game, close to the vault, I think. Now I need a tactical .44 for the damage.

Brotherhood in this game feels like Nazis-level of military racism. I mean I wasn't particularly looking to always stick with them but at least it makes the decision easier later down the line if I have to
choose one faction over the other.

Is your walk speed being slowed down?

If so, try hitting caps lock.

Yup, walk speed (and I think sneak speed) is slowed down. Sprint speed is unaffected. I'll try that next time it happens.

Unsure if there's a numeric limit, but there's definitely a limit to the work radius (anything outside the radius established by the plant you assign the worker to will not be worked on). You do not have to assign workers to each plant, one worker can take care of multiple plants near the plant you selected.

Hasn't that pretty much always been their thing? I've never liked them in any Fallout games. Pretentious assholes. All of them.

I dunno, I've not much experience with the franchise outside of playing a bit of New Vegas. My partner's the one who logged like 400 hours in Fallout 3.

Bit weirder when I bring
Nick
along and no one really says anything about it, neither does he.

I did get one brief exchange when I brought him on board where a Brotherhood member said "Robots do not deserve rights" and
Nick
countered with something like "Why, because you've given up all of yours?"

In 3 the BoS in DC was alright since they disobeyed orders when they decided to help the people. There's a smaller faction of them who left because they didn't agree in helping and wanted to keep doing what they were ordered to.

Ghouls, why does it always have to be ghouls (in my best Indiana Jones voice).

But seriously, Piper scared the shit out of me tonight. We were clearing out a house of Ghouls in Jamaica Field and she jumped down from the second floor to the ground floor and I thought she was an arrant ghoul and I fucking got a jolt in the back of my neck. GOD DAMMIT PIPER. Now we're
in the basement apparently trying to bypass this giant security wall to get the "treasure".

So are there no more really funny interactions if your character is an idiot? I started the game with a relatively high INT, then switched after remembering playing through the older games with my dumb as a stump melee guy. Doesn't seem like anything changed thus far - is that kind of depth sacrificed for voiced lines?

It's gone.

Yeah, that's gone.

There's an Australian one too? I've only met the extra British one with the Union Jack on his face and the bowler hat. He's fucking hilarious.

Thats the one. I thought he was Australian, what with the "oi"s :(

So about overdue books
Is there a purpose to them? I found the old folks home and I got something from there. I didn't think much of them until I found more somewhere further away.

Also, I found a
Nuka grenade
, PLEASE tell me there's a recipe for them.

holy shit

I discovered who was the culprit in the case of 'Who stole my power armor's parts'

Deacon you son of a bitch I thought we were best stealth buds. Now I know that deep down inside you're jealous of me so you resort to pissing me off and not telling me about it

The financial district of Boston is a technical mess, but the rest of the Game is totally fine. I played like 5 hours today as far of that district and the Game performed great 95% of the time.

I dunno about the 2nd part(I've found a couple as well)

BUT THERE IS A PURPOSE FOR OVERDUE BOOKS

In some buildings there is a book machine where you turn in the books for tokens(5 to a book I believe). You then turn in these tokens for either junk items(Usually some of the more rarer material containing junk) or maybe other items?(I've found one machine so far.)

The machine I found was in Kendall Hospital IIRC.

This made me laugh. Did you still have the power core in or can they steal parts anyway!?

Okay. I found a machine but it had junk. I'll hold on to the them now that I know there are multiple machines.

EDIT: Holy shit. Just found a terminal that talks about
me
. Almost did a spit take.
