Fuck you Bathesda. Im actually kind of angry right now regarding the story (wont say anything).

I still love you Fallout 4 ;_;

Cogsworth is sorta ass for me though, I don't think he can stealth or even tries. Everyone else ducks and looks like they're bumbling through stealth. He just goes off for another bout of FISTICUFFS EH?

haha I know I see that or Piper HATES it when I steal and I dont care! but there are perks you can unlock if they like you and I am guessing achievements. I just want to know WHEN i unlock these.

I've gotten 3 companions to max level.

The way it works is

- you do stuff they like enough

- They want to talk with you, do the conversation and don't be a dick (you can be sarcastic though).

- rinse and repeat

You'll eventually either get a conversation where they are asking for help with a personal quest or you'll simply have a last conversation. When you're nearing the end you'll see a 'X liked that' and then a 'X idolizes you' message. Once you reach their max affection level you'll get a pop-up telling you that you have.

I then proceed to tell them to get lost as I level up another companion. Fortunately I only have two more companions I want to level up outside of the main quest companion I'll be using [Nick Valentine]. And whenever I play again I'm doing the quest to get the second to last of them.

Ah okay Piper and Codsworth had conversations with me but nothing came of it. I said liked them both. I will just keep on keeping on.

Hmm okay I will spam modding stuff with codsworth tonight and see if I can get there
There's a pretty hard series of speech checks you can do at the end of The Lost Patrol that will likely max any character who like nice actions if you pass all of them. I went from having had no conversations with a certain companion all the way to admired.

You unlock the perk after the third or fourth rep conversation.

They seem to have 2 different tiers of convos. One is "____ admires you" and above that is "___ idolizes you", both should initiate them talking to you.

Do we know which ones have the quests?

Sorry if this has been asked loads of times before, but how do trading posts work? I've put one in Sanctuary and assigned someone to it, and they just stand there looking bored. Do I make money? What's the deal?

If you have extra settlers not assigned to a task, you'll start getting a small flow of caps from them. The bottlecaps will end up in your workshop.

So do dungeons have changes depending on what you have done in the past?
Unless I've read this wrong I was in the alcohol brewery and looked at this computer that referenced that the plant that I went into earlier as part of one of the early minute men quest to kill the raiders there was wiped out along with the leader, it said he was dead, maybe this is a different character but I'm pretty sure that plant had a leader trying to do something with chems and and getting sight power. What would happen if you went to the brewery before that I wonder?

Has anyone been to
Vault 81
yet?Its not story related but I don't know of anyone found this or not but I guess the Female MC
has had prior gun training before the bombs fell, she mentioned it in the vault 81

You know...a person can only take so much.

BoS late spoilers
So I finish up another fetch quest for the useless BoS, only to be greeted by a pissed off Maxson. He proceeds to tear into my character, saying I knew about a certain traitor, won't believe my replies, so I walk away and hear, "Don't you walk away from me!" El snappo. I wasted him on the spot, then killed the entire BoS in the area. Guess I'll be picking a different path to end the game. :p

I'm surprised they let you kill him. I've been disappointed with how many immortal NPCs are in this game.

Yep, this is a thing - though as far as I know it has no effect other than some additional computer entries referencing people you've killed. Just a neat little detail.

LIQUID! Here you are! Where can I find such a weapon? I'm guessing later on. I am 6 hours in and at the end of the Minute Men Quest + Just got to Diamond City.

Yes, here i am! :P
Fallout and everything else going on have been eating my time, so no Destiny :|
Well i found mine randomly laying about in the City area somewhere i think.

I fucking hate how bethesda are handling some of the plot in this. (or most of it, really)

Regarding the Main quest and Nick Valentine:
I dropped dogmeat like 20 hours ago, but for some reason Valentine claims that i should sheck kellogs cigar with my dog dogmeat, because apparently its canon that the main character has a dog and uses it there. And when i leave Kellogs house SUDDENTLY DOGMEAT IS THERE, BECAUSE IT MAKES COMPLETE SENSE

God Bethesda,i thought i couldn't get more pissed at your shit-tier writing.

Lol, that's just a convenience thing. Would you rather they made you go back to Sanctuary, track down Dogmeat, and swap him in as your companion? The things people complain about sometimes...

Yea fuck Bethesda, I wish they made me go through four loading screens and have to swap around the companion inventories instead, that's what fun is to me.

Or maybe a small adjustment if the player doesn't use Dogmeat? It could be as simple as "find a dog that could track it down" and shoehorn in some unimportant npc that has dogs in Diamond city, etcetc.
I don't have a complete solution of it, but forcing you into that scenario just feels really silly.

She also apparently has Power Armor training.

The male was in the military, and the female was a lawyer.

Only thing i can figure is, he trained her how to use guns and armor.

People just really try to find anything to piss on their writing.

if THAT part annoyed you, you might pop a blood vessel at the part I was talking about. That dogmeat thing was just a convinience thing imo.

Companions act like they have known each other for long, because the game isnt in "real time". The idea is that as you get companions they would have spent time together. Its why everytime you get a new companion, when you send the previous one back home, they will have a little exchange between them usually, even tho they "just met"

I blame that on machanics, they wanted them to interact which is neat, but the game doesnt differentiate between time passed. Thats a mechanic thing, not a writing thing

And im not defending the writing, like I already said earlier, Im actually angry right now about something else lol

Actually I thought it was funny that Nick brought up dogmeat...I was like I just met you how do you know my dogs name...or that I own a dog.

Just for shits and giggles, I set my level from 11 to 275 and got all the perks. Holy crap, you can just look at people wrong and they're goners. Even with my dinky ass 10mm pistol, I killed things that would obliterate me before. Alas, I'm back to the normal game now, but now I have something to look forward to.

So due to me siding with
The Brotherhood
faction when I beat the game. I can't get
Preston
to partner with me anymore.
Every time I talk to him he just starts up the "you're a mass murderer" conversation.

That's what I assumed, I know people were just like its funny she just wakes up and just goes on a spree in the wasteland lol. Ots interesting.

That post is hysterical. Like really? That makes their writing shit-tier? I found the overall story to be pretty good myself. Then again, I think that person is just a more extreme minority or just baiting.

why did you expect any different? Im already expecting at least Danse, if not Preston, to tell me to fuck off when I go with the
Railroad
peeps

He's a detective.

lol :D

Has anyone had an issue with the Parkview Apartments not discovering on the map, even after clearing the whole place ? It just means I cant fast travel there and is permanently undiscovered

To be honest I never really considered it. Hell, when
he talks about how you didn't let innocent evacuate that never really occurred to me. It also seems stupid that he won't ever join you, but still has to give you side quests. Probably should have fired me from my General position instead. :V

The quicksave is your friend! Abuse the ever loving shit out of it. Plus, this is an open world Bethesda game. You should have at least 5 different save slots along with a manual save every half hour or so.

Every like 2 minutes rofl

People just really try to find anything to piss on their writing.

This thread has shown me that, holy shit, people love to hate on everything. It's insane. I'm learning to ignore them though..

Like the one guy who was posting how upset he was at how he is wasting his time with settlements. Play another game then or just do the story. That's your damn psychological issue if you feel like you're wasting your life.

*rant over* sorry guys.

I thought siding with the BoS locked you out of minutemen stuff, I guess not

also,
The Institute
is a godsend for laser ammo. Im in heaven

edt: oh shit,
Synth Gorillas
:o wnder if you fight any lol

Kinda fallen out of love with the game in the past 5-10 hours, so I'm just ploughing through the main story now. After a certain event, the story appears to have lost sense of direction, and I don't really know what I'm doing anymore.

Lol, that's just a convenience thing. Would you rather they made you go back to Sanctuary, track down Dogmeat, and swap him in as your companion? The things people complain about sometimes...

I would rather they at least make an effort to do better than that. That was pretty indefensivle lol

On PS4 and my character has turned invisible.. The pip boy has lost most of its visibility as well. And loading old saves isn't helping. What the hell.

Really wasn't feeling this game for the first five hours or so, but I managed to spend a bunch of time playing it this weekend and now I'm hooked. I think getting into Diamond City and kicking off some of the more interesting plot lines was the turning point for me.

In the first couple of hours, I thought the Minutemen nonsense was going to be a major part of the game, and I found it extremely lacking. Luckily, it really just seems to be related to the base building stuff and can be ignored if you feel like it. Really left a sour initial impression on me, but now I'm loving the game.

The Institute
is AMAZING for materials. Most of their shit has alluminum for example. And they dont seem to give a fuck about me stealing everything :p
