Am I the only one that hates power armor in this game? I never use it. I have a ton of fusion cores piling up. Just don't like the feeling of being in power armor.

I don't HATE it, but I also don't use it. Mainly because it would mean investing in perks like heavy weapons or the rank 9 INT perk to make them worthwhile as a staple use, as well as Armour crafting perks.

I fully intend to use them later though once I've got my base perks sorted. Finally got Master lockpicking and hacking sorted, so finishing off rifle damage now. I'll still want carry weight and some more Charisma perks before I start working on power armour perks though.

The thought of a tower workshop filled with customized Power Armour suits on the top floor that I can suit up and leap from or rocket boost out a hole in the ceiling, kind of like a post-nuclear Tony Stark, definitely gets me excited. So even though I don't really use them with this character build (yet) I'm really happy with the design of the suits.

Why are you giving misinformation? I just checked, and all settlements share resources, regardless of whether they're directly connected.

Calm your jets man, that had been my experience. The work shops didn't share unless they were attached to the supply line. I n

From a mashable article:

Supply lines share all materials stored in either settlement's workshop. That's why it's good to dump all your junk into one Workshop. Just connect all your other settlements to that home base and you'll never have a problem building the basics of life.

this didn't just happened but i encountered the event where (random event spoilers)
the flying saucer flew overhead
i immediately went looking for it but couldn't find it. do you stumble across it during a mission or is it something i should keep looking for?

This game keeps on impressing me. Mainline story quest has been interesting and so have tons of the sidequests. I think I'm liking this better than Skyrim now which is saying something considering it was one of my favorite PS3 games.

I'll try and ask again here :

  • Proctor Teagan always sends me to the SAME farm to request the food. Is is normal or a bug ?
  • I joined the brotherhood, and must "investigate" the Institute. At what point will they give me a quest ? Should I go and report back my findings ?

Many thanks.

There's a raider in Lexington that always has one. Be careful though, he uses it.

LOL, I ran into that outpost by accident. Only heard the incoming nuke in VATS and wondered what it was until BOOM. Engaged him with Codsworth with me, he distracted him enough, I was able to get to his back and shot the Fusion Core. When the Raider went down, he took the other legendary raider with him. All that at LVL6 :)

Love that game.

So can I get all faction trophies in one play through?

No you have to make decisions at Mass Fusion for BoS and you can go a little bit further for RR. Minutemen can be done before you even get to Mass Fusion. The game explicity warns you that you can't turn back for BoS. It's all differnet missions though so you won't be replaying anything if you do it right. I can make a small optimized walkthrough later.

So I was just wandering south of the map and
I stumbled into an underground shelter thing that led to a loooooong red pipe. At the end of the pipe was a monkey .. turned around and part of the pipe opened up... i went down it and got my ass kicked by the institute soldiers... also found a full basketball court and other shit.
I do love exploring in this game

I just did this last night!! Holy shit was that crazy. Did you
fight the deathclaw?

I've had like 5 Fat Man(s) throughout the game, is there a legendary version somewhere that fires multiple nukes like the Experimental MIRV?

Yep, saw one for sale in Diamond City called Big Boy (I think) for just under 10k with the modifier "Fires an additional projectile". Made me laugh at the thought of the overkill =D

Couldn't afford it though =(

From a mashable article:

What makes you think I'm not calm? My original question was whether or not they shared resources with every other settlement if they weren't directly connected (i.e would I have the same resources at the Castle that I do at Sanctuary if they're only connected indirectly via, say, Red Rocket station).

damn so I gotta make different saves when I get there because I want BoS as my final faction .

The gunplay certainly feels improved, I've actually enjoyed most of the combat I've engaged in thus far, something I never thought I'd say about one of these games. I mean, to go from whatever the fuck you call Fallout 3 to serviceable enough to have me not thinking about it is a solid improvement in my book.

There's plenty of jank in this package, but honestly the improved combat and the sense now that all the hopeless dumpster diving that has been passed off as content in these games now feels much more like gathering tangible construction resources is making me really glad to spend time in this world.

I play these as junk food, and I still think of this as mostly that, but this is the first Bethesda game other than New Vegas I'd really recommend, albeit for vastly different reasons.

I had a really funny thing happen last night. I had just finished helping BOS fight off a crazy ghoul attack, and was having a post battle conversation with a paladin. Suddenly, mid conversation, a giant truck explodes in the background, causing a chain reaction where there was this giant wall of fire behind the paladin while he was speaking. He didn't even flinch, so it was hilarious to watch.

So...how can one build a perimeter wall around sanctuary?

Really need a snap on/off and other basic functions....
Build actual Walls around the place or set up Wooden Platforms (Go into Wood build>Walls)and set a few Turrets of your choice on top of it. You put this in the outer rim of of area and that's it.

Personally I just set up Laser Turrets on top of the Houses,2 Turrets by the bridge and I welcome anyone foolish enough to attempt a Raid.

For those working on a Settlements here a WARNING!

Your Settlers can be replaced by Synthetics without you noticing and they can turn on your Settlement so be ready to del with that.

Yup just make one save there. I'd make one at Molecular Level just in case, it's free to do! I'm almost done with the BoS story line, I'll let everyone know I did in fact get all the trophies.

You can do up to Tactical Thinking in the BoS questline without angering factions.

Has anyone noticed a bug where when you sell stuff to the arms dealer in diamond city you don't get any caps? I just noticed it yesterday after selling a valuable weapon (1000+ caps).
But, they have to have the caps to be able to afford what you're selling... it shows their whole cap stockpile in the trading menu. Or am I missing something?

Mind sharing a picture of your setup?

Yeah, power armor sucks. You move slower, you turn slower, your reticle bobs up and down (which it doesn't otherwise do), the UI is worse, and you can't sleep in beds. At first I thought I would dislike it because of the constantly depleting fusion core, but then I realized it just made exploration less fun.

I really want the "Fatman." Where do I find one that I don't have to buy? I tried to steal one from the gunsmith at Goodneighbor but I got caught..

There is one in the (Brotherhood spoilers)
Engine Room of ArcJet systems. You go there on like the second mission for the Brotherhood of Steel. You take the elevator up, then drop off the walkway to a room that is otherwise inaccessible, it's sitting right there on the table

HOLY WHAT

If you head in the direction
it crashed in you eventually run across it. You then simply follow the green blood trail for some interesting stuff.

Okay so a couple things happen that I missed because I got locked in talking to someone or interrupted by combat. I was adventuring with P
iper
and she said something like "I need a minute to do something" or something to that effect but we were next to some ghouls and it got interrupted. Anyone know what that's about?

Also while I was locked into talking to a quest guy I heard a
a roar in the sky and Piper said "Look at that we should follow it"
but I couldn't see it because I was talking to someone. I would google it but I'm afraid of worse spoilers.

I marked some things as spoilers but they are not really. Just being safe.

Someone should make a Killzone Shadow Fall vs Fallout 4 comparison video of the helicopter rides through the city. The difference is hysterical. (I know I know)

Happened to me yesterday but have no idea what direction it went so just gave up

Yup I read that.

Didn't someone say their Brahmin aggro'ed and when they checked them they had Synth parts?

Yea someone got an alert that a settlement was being attacked and when they fast travelled back to it all their settlers were attacking some Brahmin and Synth parts were found on it's corpse.

When I entered Covenant
I destroyed their synth finding project and had to kill the whole town
. Now when I know more about synths I wonder if I made a huge mistake.

They're fucking lazy and don't want to do shit.

I keep assigning settlers to tend to the crops, pull guard duty, and manage the stores. They have no fucking problem accepting when I'm there but when I come back from mission to repair my power armor their fucking happiness is down and ALL THE WORK I DID IN ASSIGNING EACH FUCKING CROP WAS ABANDON! Not only that but also they stop tending the stores! I spent all those caps getting one of each store and a clinic and they don't want to put in the work.

Fuck. Them. Lazy. Fucks.

I'm getting no cap return from all the time, resources, and caps I spent trying to make these fucks happy.

Edit:
And my defense rating is almost doubled to my food and water intake and I have over double the beds than I do settlers.

I remember going through that mission! I'm gonna have to head back there! Thanks man.

Cool mod. It allows you to wear any clothes under your armor. Some particular combinations may have clipping (most games and this also has clipping any ways), but it works really well. Some have clipping but there is a lot of combinations that don't. like the beanie and gas mask fit well. Saw it on the Fallout subreddit.

Might be OP when you combine armor with full sets that already have a lot of stuff on it already but who cares!

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/745/?

Also I like this suggestion on the mod's comments:

One suggestion: Add an option to be able to wear armor, but have it not display on character. That way you still get the stats, but don't have to worry about clipping issues.

Whoever posted the tip about Water Purifiers as a source of income is a genius.

I just started my water farm and it is already paying dividends.

Alright well do up until that for BoS how about RR ?

Just do everything for them up to and including Underground Railroad until you can't anymore and then, heavy spoilers:

Undercover Railroad can't be completed until you've finished Powering Up in the Institute questline so do that mission first until it says to keep working with Father. When you finish Powering Up you'll go to a directorate meeting and be approached by a synth to continue Undercover Railroad. Make a save here so you can finish the Railroad questline or the Institute questline and then roll back.
