GameInfomer has released a Test Chamber on Xenoblade X.

Everything looks great except I'm still concerned about the main story progression being gated behind stuff like surveying. It just seems unnecessary to me. If someone wants to focus on the story or affinity missions, that should be their choice. You shouldn't have to go explore a certain % of a land just to trigger a new story mission... Feels a little arbitrary to require something like that.

It probably won't be a big issue for how I play games like that (explore constantly, do tons of side quests/missions, etc), but sometimes I just want to focus on the main story and the game won't let you do that here.

I hope I have time to finish this game before early January... lol

Apparently this game is more character>plot.

Slightly concerning since there's no Xeno3 announced yet (and even if it is, sounds like we're in for a wait)

omg unboxing xD

...amazon is gonna mess up the box when shipping it to me aren't they D:

Well one good thing I learned from that unboxing is that it doesn't have the dead space that a lot of big box collectors editions have that leads to that area getting crushed or smashed in shipping. A nice full tray that hits all the corners of the bottom side of the box. Course that depends on how flimsy that tray is...

I like that the camera's so flexible. I need to get 20 angles on each blade of grass. I'm surprised chugaa didn't realize you can switch characters.

Real talk: I'm gonna play as Elma as much as possible. Everyone else be damned.

I feel like it's overwhelming, but since there's so many classes I guess it makes sense to make enough characters to have diverse roles. Plus those voiced Affinity/Heart-to-Heart missions...

It says that the game played the game for 70 hours and only did around 32% completion. What does that mean? Who the hell knows. My questions:

1. How is percentage calculated? Monsters fought, land discovery, mission completions?

2. What is the minimum percentage needed to do enough to go through the story and required side missions?

I agree with everything in this post. Mario Maker is fantastic, but it's not at the same quality to me as X and Splatoon this year.
Chuggaaconroy is the type of person to 100% games, so he shouldn't be held as the standard in this case

Do we know if ether crystals and the synthesis of crystals is back. Has it been replaced with something analogous? I liked the mining aspect which seems to be back in one of the divisions, but not the mini game aspect of it. Just thought I'd ask for clarification.

Also is the art book shown in that video the same one in the European special edition?

This game came out in April this year, why would a Xeno be announced yet lol

Takahashi said he's been working on his next game since finishing the Japanese release of XCX. He also mentioned that his next project will have a larger story focus than XCX. On top of that, both Monolith Soft offices havebeen looking for new employees.

It sounds like Takahashi's next major project has been greenlit. It'll be a few years before we see it, though.

I wonder how big Xeno 3 will be, and how awesome it will look on NX home. =O

You know Witcher 3? Imagine that but times a thousand. And giant robots inside giant robots. Roboception. Plus, you can traverse a small galaxy in them.

Priority over characters is nice to hear, provided they are fun of course. And Xenoblade X was announced like 3 years after Xenoblade was released, so I wouldn't be too worried (yet.)

I'll say a direct followup to Xenoblade X, with a Mira now more developed by humanity but the story leading humans to explore new worlds. Keeping in line with with the scaling up from Xenoblade to X, "five times bigger" translating into five Mira sized worlds to visit and explore. Plus, a customizable ship to crew with party members
[Suikoden style]
and fly between the planets, where ship battles can occur
[a la Skies of Arcadia]
!

If I can't get sequels to my favorite RPGs, just let Xenoblade absorb them!!!

Is there
romance
in this game?

I don't mean anything over bearing and an arc or anything, just something subtle.

I'm weird about that.

I'm not a huge JRPG fan, but I can't help but be in awe of some of the imagery and scale I've seen of the characters exploring or the skells traversing the environment. This game has quickly moved up my list of must have right now. Quick question for anyone in the know, can you limit the UI or HUD in away, such as disabling the floating combat text and onscreen controls? Seems awfully busy.

That completion percentage at 70+ hrs...

This reminds me of that feeling I got playing Xenoblade Chronicles when I'm 90 hrs in and someone drops about 20 quests on my lap.

Jeebus.

If Xeno3 is not like that, I will hate you, because now I am in love with that idea and it makes too much sense!

BTW, this wait for the game is just killing me. I will but it digital, will be makin the preload this friday is all goes according to plan (it will!) and I'm in a blackout of videos, the only video I have seen is the unpacking lol!
