Xenoblade X Eurogamer Preview: Maybe 2015's Most Impressive Open World

The way its brought up in the Test Chamber video makes me think its included from the start on the NA version. The DLC is included on the NA version, so that means its likely the functionality is already there from the beginning.

The DLC is included for free in the localized version.

I didn't realize this change happened. That's pretty cool, but I'm surprised I didn't hear about it or that they didn't mention it in the Direct like they did for Final Fantasy Explorer's DLC. Do you have a link?

Oh? This is good news and unexpected based on what people have been saying about people's experiences with other people's impressions of other people's hands-on impressions.

A lot of people who played that game in japanese actually didn't know the language. It was rare the find a streamer who actually understood what he was doing, lol
So a lot of things were kinda skipped like the NPC quests that help bring depth to the story by the reviewers/streamers. Most of them kinda focused only on the story because of that.

I need to go back on a blackout for this game. I'm getting too excited for this with my winter break just about coinciding with it's release.

I totally understand you and I keep asking myself if I'm gonna wait Christmas or not to buy it *struggle*

Yes, but you don't want to, by all accounts.

As I understand it, the dual screen play is really useful in this title in a way that previous attempts haven't been. I know some might mock it on the ground of it being effectively just a map screen, but for a game with such a big map, I can only see that as fundamentally indispensable.

I can't wait to explore this world, I'm playing Fallout 4 right now (35 hours in) and didn't progress in the main quest at all (didn't reach diamond city) and I hope to finish it before Xeno get released.

It's built into the game already. IIRC, it added three new party members and quests to get some new gear for your characters and Skells.

Isn't the cosmetic DLC built in too? The one that adds the option of wearing gear that looks like whatever you want to wear but possesses the stats of other armour so you can look stylish and have viable equipment?

From what they made it sound like, all the DLC was built into the western release, which would include that.

GameXplain said it is.

Also, about the Gamepad: Can we play with the Pro Controller, but have the Gamepad on the side. Because I loved playing Wind Waker HD like that.

Yes, I do believe that is an option, and you'll still have the same functionality, if slightly more cumbersome as a result of having to handle two controllers.

That, and I believe it's a huge part of your menu usage, which, if playing off-screen, requires an additional button press or two every single time you want to access the menu.

It worked well with Wind Waker since I just swapped my items and things while on the boat and checked the map. :D

I loved the Gamepad use with that game.

79 Metacritic imo. Which is still fine. I think glowing previews are never something I trust to lead to high review scores. Personally I didn't care for the Story or Characters of the original Xenoblade and found those sidequests irritating due to a lack of a real quest tracking system. I am hoping that this game is more to my liking.

Must have faith son

Anyone buying the collectors guide?

Xenoblade X Collector's Edition (the game + extras) is very, very expensive here in Brazil because there are many import fees. However, the Collector's Guide can be imported for a decent price (no import fees for books, thankfully), so I've preordered it instead. I hope it's worth it!

Nintendo will have a black friday thing on the eshop... is it possible for this game to get a discount? (Do new releases usually get discounts on black friday - i mean, retail?)

Have we seen any in hand images of the collector's edition gamestop had? I've been on blackout with most everything related to the game since I preordered it a few months back but I figured we'd maybe see some actual images of the stuff.

I'm hyped for it, especially the little USB thing. Hopefully it'll look a little like the product image.

The game won't even be out then, so no.

We haven't seen the collectors edition in person, sadly. Treehouse promised the USB would actually look better than the promotional image. Just have to wait.

The game releases on December 4, it should be clear that if they put some games on sale, XBX won't be one of them.

Waa... they should give (me) a black friday discount for the preload...

60$ is too much for me this year. To be fair i think the only game i bought this year was that $10 wiiu indie bundle (and it was really worthy)

It's really just an older trailer (I think from last year actually).
Still, it's nice just to see them promoting the game.

There are clips combined from more trailers, plus a couple of new things I think. Did we have previously the jump over that waterfall?

You should. There's nothing like hoping into your own custom giant Mechs and beating down creatures 100 times your size with 3 friends.

How does teaming up work? Do you just host a party and anyone can join? I recall reading somewhere that it depends on your faction.

No more video watching for me, I want to see some of the stuff for myself. I will watch the last survival guide when Nintendo decides to put it up.

I have not been a big jrpg guy in a long time... i Wonder if this is the game that can make me appreciate the genre again

There's two different parts to online.
There's a passive part where you can trade items and complete Faction goals through normal play.
There's also an online quest mode where four people can team up and fight monsters for loot.
As far as I know, you can play with anyone that's online at the time.

Just be warned that this game is the JRPG of all JRPGs. There's a lot that you have to keep track of and a lot that is going on at all times.

Yeah. It's just a small part of this larger video from January.

But I'm sure a lot of people forgot or missed it. I just happen to absorb all Xenoblade information and retain it like a wet, dirty Xeno sponge.

You're absolutely right. Well it's a nice recap, I guess.

Also this shows that I will not get easily bored with Mira, because I saw tons of videos and I'm still amazed.
