And im damn proud of it! Lol im still mad about the rmika butt slap tho!We do know lewd games will keep getting localized, though. Games much more shameless than DOAX, even, lol.

Because there's literally no controversy anywhere about this game and so there is actually no possible explanation except that it's manufactured?
That factor being... the exact same type of media criticism that every previous game in the series has received and which has never affected the franchise's viability in America in any way?
So I'm trying to figure out where this proposed blowback against Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 is coming from.
Let's take our own forum for example, where we're frequently accused of being a fascist censorship regime on the topic.
"Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 (PS4/Vita) - Debut Gameplay Teaser Trailer & Screenshots"
Despite being 365 posts long, I could not find a single condemning post in the thread. There is one post that says the game needs more men, but I'm relatively sure that's because the person wants to see hot dudes in the game, and is not a statement of needed equality.
The last Dead or Alive Xtreme game came out in 2006, six years before Anita Sarkeesian's Kickstarter and eight years before GG. In the past couple of years we've seen controversies over games that have as much if not less sexualizaton in them as DOAX3. It's completely reasonable to assume that DOAX3 would cause more of a shitstorm than previous games, because for better or for worse the climate has very obviously changed.
Don't get me wrong, as I said in my last post I'm pretty sure the main reason is just that it's a niche game that wouldn't turn a profit in the US anyway and they're just spinning it to make it look like they're not as much at fault and to encourage people to import the Asian release that coincidentally has an English translation just to spite the "SJWs" and blah blah etc etc. But the idea that there's be a shitstorm over the content isn't complete bullshit, just the idea that it would be to the point where it would be the sole reason to not release it here.
using SJW unironically, retweeting gamergate harassment, posting one of the most prominent gamergate sites, are pretty surefire signs. breitbart isn't just some "clickbait" site it's one of the biggest gamergate supporting sites.Except Koei Tecmo have said the exact same thing, the fact that they're quoting some clickbait site doesn't say anything other than that they have bad taste in journalism and are quoting something. Just the same way that someone quoting Kotaku doesn't mean that they support Kotaku being absolute scumbags, it just means that they are quoting something which just so happens to be shit and also pertain to what they're talking about.

How big is play-asia? I can't imagine everyone who works there is okay with their official social media presence retweeting guys with this in their feed
I mean, these are the people play-asia would rather get cozy with?
Yeah...I feel like the reaction is overblown.
Seems to me it's more like the P-A twitter handler is oblivious about the whole Gamergate thing and how it changes the society climate in the US because you know....they're not in America or even an American.
It seem like a childish reactionary tweet based on the recent K-T statement.

How do you explain them retweeting GamerGate stuff and posting a link to a Breitbart article on Facebook?
I don't have to establish that. I do not work for them.
That's the job of Koei-Tecmo to determine whether "people criticizing doa boobies" will impact sales. If Team Ninja's community manager, Koei Tecmo's official Twitter, and Play-Asia are correct, then Koei-Tecmo (not me) has determined that "people criticizing doa boobies" will either impact sales or cost the company in other ways.
It those sources are to be believed (we don't have any conflicting reports to go off of) then Koei-Tecmo's cost-benefit analysis has determined that "people criticizing doa boobies" were a big enough concern to pass on localization.
Of course they would. You're 100% correct. That's one of the biggest issues here. GTA is going to get criticized. COD is going to get criticized. These games are too big for publishers to seriously concern themselves about negative media attention. DOAX3 is a niche title so "preemptive fears over complaints" would likely be taken more seriously. In business, you don't have as much freedom when your margins are thin.
They're signal boosting people who are upset with their tweet and a certain audience is eating it up and probably harassing them now.

Straub, always the observant comedian.I am fully expecting this to happen tomorrow

What if it's actually the greatest game of all time?
100% This. Couldn't agree more.
This was a business decision by KT and I don't blame them because it is volatile in NA with these issues right now.
It's a shame because I was hoping the game would be released here. It amazes me how sensitive people are about stuff like this.
If I remember correctly, P-A is Hong Kong based so the guy running their twitter may not know or care what he's doing

I am currently playing Dungeon Travellers 2. A game where I lead a harem of scantily clad girls against the forces of hot monster girls, and defeat them by ripping their clothes off. This is a game that is way dirtier than DOA and was released in 2015 with barely a word.
But sure. Let's all keep pretending there is an overly sensitive gaming boogeyman.
Yes, although he's also an attention-seeking clown who regularly writes nonsensical screeds about media content that no one else in mainstream internet feminism is complaining about -- witness Mad Max Fury Road (which approximately every feminist on the internet was a huge fan of except for McIntosh, who said some dumb bullshit about how violence is inherently sexist) or Witcher 3 (which is in a series that's improved its depiction of women so massively over three games that even some of the most sensitive types were like "...wait what" about his complaints.)
Basically, I feel like if McIntosh is the only person someone can dig up as a feminist voice criticizing something, it suggests that thing is actually pretty much getting a pass.

Thoroughly unimpressed by the new Avengers trailer. Are we tired of men punching each other in the face to solve their problems yet? *sigh*
Are we pretending now that scumbags with no journalism degrees tweeting shit about GG are any different than other scumbags with no journalism degrees pretending to be victims of big evil bethesda because now they have to actually pay for the games they review are any different? Guess what, they're both scumbags, hence I view them equally when someone quotes them, and that view is whoopity fucking doo you can quote things you don't necessarily agree with 100% of the time.using SJW unironically, retweeting gamergate harassment, posting one of the most prominent gamergate sites, are pretty surefire signs. breitbart isn't just some "clickbait" site — it's one of the biggest gamergate supporting sites.
btw the fact that you equate kotaku with breitbart kinda says a lot about you too, lol.
I was thinking SJW was like some kind of Super Saiyan form. Man I'm too old and out of the loop on these things.
Maybe because it's an article that supports his narrative?
Where's Lik-Sang when you need them
He also only made that comment earlier today, after they announced the game wasn't coming over here (so presumably just in response to that news).
So it's not like his opinion could have any impact on KT's decision. There's still no evidence that any fear of a backlash existed, or would have been well founded.

Damn it. I accidentally clicked the link and now I know what DOAX3 is.
Criminal Girls discussion is prohibited on GAF, btw.Just like the huge controversies over Senran Kagura? Or Conception 2? Or Criminal Girls? Or...

Wait..you didn't evn know what the game wasm..Damn it. I accidentally clicked the link and now I know what DOAX3 is.
It's important to note that if anything feminist critics are more forgiving towards DOA because it doesn't pretend to be anything other than it is. It's not like the ever-growing breasts of Cortana in the Halo series, because that character is meant to be a serious character.
The responses I've seen to the series have ranged from dismissal, to amusement, to acceptance. I've never personally seen people foaming at the mouth trying to get the games banned.

You don't have to be American to know about Gamergate and people being "Play-Asia is dumb" is not an "overblown" reaction. It's just calling their comment what it is. Not to even mention Play-Asia now fully embracing GGers' twitter-crap is ridiculously idiotic.Yeah...I feel like the reaction is overblown.

I'm honestly surprised that Senran Kagura discussion isn't also banned.
Barely a word and barely any sales because barely anyone knows about it.
Love the game though.

You weren't kidding, just looked him up and was greeted to these:
I don't follow either of them on Twitter so I don't know about Anita's comments on Fury Road if she made any, but didn't she also join in with calling Witcher 3 sexist?Yes, although he's also an attention-seeking clown who regularly writes nonsensical screeds about media content that no one else in mainstream internet feminism is complaining about -- witness Mad Max Fury Road (which approximately every feminist on the internet was a huge fan of except for McIntosh, who said some dumb bullshit about how violence is inherently sexist) or Witcher 3 (which is in a series that's improved its depiction of women so massively over three games that even some of the most sensitive types were like "...wait what" about his complaints.)
