Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 new trailer and screenshots

I see what you're saying, but based on that article, it just tells me where their head is at.

I'm personally speculating that it either won't be available in NA or it won't be available here in the same state as in Japan, which is unfortunate to say the least.

I wouldn't worry about it just yet. I think worst case scenario is that it is digital only with some changes. The more I think about it, the less I think there will be any changes at all.

Unless you are trying to get the most expensive LE for the game I'd just wait on importing till it is closer to release. Regular editions aren't going to sell out before the game releases, and the closer we get to the end of Feb the more likely we'll here some rumors or rumblings from KT.

As I said before worry after release. I just think this is misinformation in this era can cause some reactions. Time till definatly tell. That said I gotta import for content I am doing. :E

I made a comment in the 'No plans to bring DOAX3 to the west' topic which, in retrospect, was a bit dickish.

Porn is free online anyway.

Seriously; is there any purpose to this game besides watching boobs and getting a boner?

Quite a few people quoted me and I wasn't able to respond as the topic got locked, so I wanted to apologise.

I can see Marie Rose being a potential problem in the states, but other than that the game looks fairly tame in comparison to other recent releases like (for instance) the The Witcher 3, GTA V etc...

My guess is that they are estimating low sales to justify the port and are using this as an excuse.

It's okay, it's quick to lump those two things together seeing as both focus on sexualisation. But it's a tired point many people make, that's why it was met with the negative reaction you got.

I disagree on all counts. At one point I thought the same about Marie Rose, but all information we've heard isn't commenting on "character's ages" being the problem. That and there are plenty of games that have come out (including older DOA/DOAX) even recently without issue. Hell if this can come over with nothing but 2 fruit covering her I think DoA is fine.

Even if they are estimating low sales they are already translated the game in English. At worst they can stop NA voice actors and just say "sorry it cost too much". They'll get some blowback from doing that I'm sure but I can't imagine much (am I the only person who uses NA voices?).

Well, I hope your optimistic approach turns out for everyone. I'm hoping it does at least :)

A lot of people in the other thread were championing the idea that K-T was creating a fake controversy to justify their decision to not localizing the game. On that note, here's a question that DOA producers were asked last year regarding DOA5:

GamesBeat: In the West, the games industry is going through an extremely volatile time when it comes to sexuality and gender representation in games. Dead or Alive is one of the medium’s prime examples of females being overtly sexualized. Is this controversy on Team Ninja’s radar? If so, what’s your viewpoint on these issues?"
- SOURCE

Journalists have acknowledged how extremely volatile the landscape is and publishers have acknowledged the controversy as well. It's strange that some people are now pretending that things aren't volatile and that K-T is just making up a fake controversy. I don't think people appreciate how much pressure publishers are under right now.

Um, excuse me? They were three fruits: One banana for the crotch, two strawberries for the nipples.

Yes. I don't know if people are intentionally ignoring the context, but what the CM said here makes sense given how discussion of gender issues in video games and video games industry has become increasingly binary and hostile. I can't imagine any developer would want to be dragged through that mud if they can avoid it.

Fantastic display of mental gymnastics in that thread. Thanks for that link! But as raven77 pointed out, we shouldn't use this thread to continue a debate from a thread that has been closed.
My bad ><. After using the costume to just see the novelty of it I switched to some of the better ones.
Heh, just taking the piss, man. Obviously not that important. The banana split costume wasn't even the most revealing one, considering there's one that's just a few splashes of colour made to look like groping hands covering up some very naughty bits indeed.

But Onechanbara is a very unique game, I must say.

Thank you for this. The accusations of KT making up some conspiracy to garner up sympathies was some unfounded bullshit.

Why don't we just wait and see if we can get a more official and/or articulated response from Tecmo first as to what -- if any -- plans they have for a Western release. With that out of the way, I advise not derailing this thread with off-topic conversation meant for another thread that got locked.

Not sure what else could really be keeping them out...I want the game to come out as much as the next guy mind you.

Maybe it's due to the context. While onechanbara does have a lot of fanservice, it's also a hack n'slash game.

That or they really do fear some kind of backlash, which is quite stupid in my opinion...this game targets a very specific audience :S

I hope they release it in the end.

I hope they release it in the end.
They're going to . I'm amazed at the ammount of people here actually believe Tecmo's bullshit. Nothing more than a bullshit scapegoat excuse in case they decide to not bring it to the west and a amazing way to advertise and drum up more sales from easily manipulated people when they inevitably release the game in the west.

You can expect it coming to the West before one year of the original release . feel free to Quote me on this.

Because if it was THAT volatile it would have stoped K-T in the past or in the future and we all know that the main Dead or Alive series doesn't have any risks of not coming to the USA, boob bounce slider or not.

Well it helps that this isn't on a Nintendo platform so no need to censor/modify the content.

They wouldn't necessarily do that even if it were.
For the games that were changed in localization, Nintendo owns Xenoblade, and they co-own (to an extent) Fatal Frame going forward.

One thing I am really excited about DOAX is that we will be able to let girls wear other girl's swimsuits with DOA5 base model.

So that controversy topic peaked my interest in this game and I saw the two trailers on KT youtube page. So has there been any vita version media?

Heh, I'm still debating on which version I should pre-order: Nippon-Yasan told me that their supplier can't at the moment confirm them if Japanese release will feature English subs or not... Japanese or Asian version, that is the question that keeps me up at night.

Release on PC, region free. Only way to get it to the masses past SJWs.

WAT.
PS4 and Vita are region free, too, and at least on PS4 you can setup a HK/JP PSN account and start downloading it in literally seconds.

Would it be in english though? Does one need to read anything in this game? I'm confusing myself!!!
