Suit looks great. Damn. It's just about perfect.

I bet Spiderman's suit is going to....amazing.

Probably Marvel's best trailer yet. The Iron Man vs Cap+Bucky fight looked great. Much better choreography and framing than anything since Winter Soldier.

There's no Bruce banner Hulk at all post-SW as far as we know. The Maestro is doing his thing and the main universe has Amadeus Cho as the new Hulk.

Maestro was brought into the present already by Miguel O'hara before secret wars got started, with the explanation that something miguel does fucks the timeline and creates a future where Maestro is in charge.

That future is still valid as of the new Spiderman 2099 post secret wars series, so banner hulk still exists.

It's not just about the punching - Bucky Barnes is Captain America's greatest failure, in death and his rebirth. Steve couldn't save his friend and countless atrocities were committed as a direct result. After all that he finally gets the chance to rescue Bucky and he still fails. Winter Soldier ends with Captain America failing at his most important personal objective even if they did stop Hydra. But I feel like some people won't be happy here unless Civil War ends with Cap's bullet riddled corpse - as if that's what would make it a great movie.

nah I would be perfectly happy with Stark's bullet ridden corpse

Am i the only one that didn't like the trailer. I don't even know why these hero's are fighting. The batman v superman trailer was a lot better.

It specifically states why they're fighting a million times. Like they couldn't hammer it into our heads any more than they already did.

Bucky Barnes killed a lot of people while brainwashed by Hydra. Some people in the government don't necessarily believe he is that good of a guy just because they're gone, and they want him dead. Tony Stark happens to be among those people who want him dead. Bucky killed his parents. Which puts him in direct opposition to Bucky's best friend Captain America.

Or you know just don't pay any attention and then complain on the internet that it doesn't make sense as people are want to do with the MCU

I'm excited for this. Crazy to see Black Panther in live action, as he was one of my favorite Marvel characters as a kid.

Anyone else around here collect those hard rubber PVC figures back in the early '90s?
Those were my obsession when I was like 11 and 12. I'd do chores around the house and my reward would be about once a week my mom would take me to the local comic shop and I'd pick up a new PVC. So exciting. :D

Not my picture, but I had a ton of these things. That Black Panther one (top left) was one of my favorites, even though he's hard to make out there.

As far as deaths, well, I don't know about Civil War, but if some heroes don't go out hardcore versus an OP Infinity Gauntlet-wielding Thanos I'll be really disappointed. The Infinity Gauntlet comic had some brutal deaths.

He feels so forced in though :/

Can't really say scarlet witch, hawkeye, falcon, war machine, black widow, black panther and vision have been developed at all. Introduced yeah, pretty well I'd say, but we don't know much shit about em actually.

Black Widow hasn't been developed? What?

you would think panther being upset about stolen vibranium almost being used as a doomsday weapon in AOU would be sufficient motivation.
Prob goes to find out answers hears it had to do with the avengers tries to take down cap. Realises he's wrong and it was starks creation. Flop flops a la Spidey in the comic. Doesn't fit BP's character at all though

edit: yeah wait this doesn't make sense at all w/ bucky.

Black Widow hasn't been developed? What?

Besides a few flashbacks in AoU there hasn't been much. In avengers 1 she was like "hey i'm black widow and I'm here to kick ass", in winter soldier she was like "hey i'm a super spy and I can hack satellites in an apple store"

The whole Hulkbuster fight in AoU took place in Wakanda, I'm sure he's pretty pissed about that.

Uhhh you sure it's in wakanda though ?

The fodder are there so our heroes can do sweet combo moves we can cheer for. I don't think they really add much else or really take away from the movie.

The Chitauri were jobbers that only existed to show how powerful the Avengers are when they finally work together. I wouldn't really have that any other way. Avengers 1 didn't really need some ultra powerful opponent because it was good enough just seeing them fighting together for the first time.

The Ultron bots were just to show how hard it could be to take him out because they had to destroy every single one to stop him. They weren't particularly interesting and Ultron Prime should have been much more powerful in that last fight - that was the real failing in AoU's climactic battle IMO and not the robot horde.

Hopefully this is something that is simply corrected in Infinity War simply by the nature of the story. You can bet your ass that Thanos is gonna have a Chitauri army at his back but those will be dealt with by the lower level heroes and just background dressing while the main dudes lose to Thanos.

It's not about having some all powerful individual, it's about creating tension. They tried to do this by raising the stakes for the world (alien invasion), but there wasn't much tension for the characters themselves.

The power scaling felt off, so our heroes felt invisible. The plot armor becomes transparent. Hulk and Thor seem completely OP but at the same time Widow is cleaning goons up with their own vehicles like it is no ones business. It was a 'fun ride' watching it once, but there is a reason that the high praise the movie got upon release hasn't really been maintained. This also happens in tons of other movies, such as at the end of the Star Trek 1 reboot.

This also happens at the end of Ultron (which as other problems). There is no tension or stakes, so the character death felt completely gratuitous. It was not the result of anything, just random.

Think of good action movies. Terminator 2, The Matrix, Mad Max, hell even through in Winter solider. The tension in these movies works because we don't know how things will play out. There are goons to show the cool moves of our characters in the rescue scene in matrix 1, but the stakes are insanely high. There were also goons in Mad Max and T2. That is not the problem.
