Do you like the name "NX" or do you think Nintendo should change it?

I would suggest each system should be N followed by another letter. So something like NC (nice couch) for console and NS (nifty screen) for handheld. Commonly known as NX when describing the family. Is that too confusing?

WiiYouTwo

The reveal at E3 will only show the power brick. Nintendo will intentionally speak ambiguously of new features. The mainstream will think the WiiYouTwo is simply a new power brick for the original Wii.

I've assumed from the start that NX was a code name and Nintendo going to change it, so I'll be very surprised if that's the actual name.

As for what I want to see, they need to drop the Wii name. It's done. Keep Miis and Miiverse and that stuff, but drop the Wii. Come up with something brand new to clearly show people that this new system is a separate product.

For the console:-

Nintendo Nexus
Nintendo Home
Nintendo Next

For the handheld:-

Nintendo Go
Nintendo Pocket

For the OS:-
NintendOS

New Nintendo of course...

They can do better than Nintendo NX. It's too harsh sounding for how they've always gone.

Nintendo Play Station ™

Let me introduce you the "Nintendo X" Gaming System, people would call it Nintendo X or NX and logo could be something with two arrows facing making the X.

So yeah I like NX and like suggested by some Gaffers Nintendo NeXt could be nice too.

I'm ok with anything though, just give me awesome games.

This said I know that a lot of their marketing decisions are going to make me having more or less support from them and 3rd party so it's important but it's not like I'm the one (meaning the type of gamer) they should focus on for this.

It's a nice, short name, but it doesn't mean anything that we know of and Nintendo has never used a project name to name their console with, at least as far as I can remember. Project Reality, Project Dolphin, Project Revolution, Project Cafe... none of those have ever made it to the name. The name will be, like with every Nintendo console, something we did not expect.

Wasn't the latest 3DS iteration just called the new 3DS?

Maybe they take a note from the marketing page of Apple and just go with... The Nintendo. The new Nintendo. The newest Nintendo, buy this one!

Or Nintendo Home Console. Nintendo HC. Nintendo HC2. Nintendo HC3.

Or the Nintendo Xperience. Because the 90's were cool.

I would be happy with just the Nintendo NX but it's most likely not going to be that.

So NX is already a software owned by Siemens, and Nintendo never keep the codename anyhow. People keep saying Nexus for some reason, but Google already use that. Go? I very much doubt anything that generic would be in the running (don't they need to trademark etc?) The names of consoles are never good anyway. GameBoy and Playstation are rubbish names, but the devices were so successful we don't think about it anymore. A bit like calling your band "the Beetles but with an 'a'".

As long as they get rid of the "Wii" name it will be a great step.

A lot of people thought the Wii U was an add on for the Wii rather than a new console. The console itself needs a decent design, the Wii U is just a rounded off Wii.

NX is good. But it will not be NX when hits the shelves if history has taught us anything. I just hope they can break this trend of godawful names on this new system.

I'm in......so is this dude.

With anything Nintendo in the name they'll never get the dudebro audience, weither this is their target or not.

Just call it Nintendo 6 or something.

Sony had the right idea. Playstation 1,2,3, and 4! They never need a creative department again.

Is it weird that more and more lately, I've been seeing the name as N(intendo) "Cross" versus NX?

Sells the concept fairly well, but I'll wait for the final name.

I think it would be really cool calling it Nintendo X .

Then the future one could be Nintendo X Revolution or evolution.

=P
