Gotenks is just Gotenks. It was ridiculous from the beginning but somehow it worked out quite well. Loved the way that he was so arrogant. And Vegito was the same
Concerning GT: Was Gogeta ever a really arrogant prick or did Vegeta and Goku learn from old failures? Havent seen GT in a long time...

SSJ3 Gotenks was almost on par with Super Buu, that makes him much stronger than SSJ3 Goku. Unless you're just talking bout the base form or normal SSJ.
So was Goku though.

But wasnt Goku dead? So he couldnt really maintain SSJ3 at all? It looked easy for Gotenks and it only ended cause they got Absorbed by Buu/Fusiontime ended...
No he wasn't. I think he could have taken Fat Buu or possibly Kid, but not Super.
Not sure about that. Both him and Gotenks had time limits.
When Super Buu absorbed Gotenks, Goku was quite a bit worried and was desperate to use the fusion earrings, but when Gotenks lost his SSJ3 ability, Goku was confident that he could take him and didn't need the fusion earrings anymore.

.............. I hope you realize that Super Buu is WEAKER than Kid Buu. Gotenks isn't even grown up and does crappy kid moves that Vegito pointed out to Super Buu after he absorbed Gohan and Gotenks already and tried to use the ghost move.
Also SSJ3 Goku could take on Kid Buu up until he started running out of energy. :x
Edit: Actually looking back now I guess technically Super Buu is stronger since he absorbed people but I dunno with Kid Buu having no mind basically. In fact Kid Buu absorbed people just because he could and to end the battle faster since I doubt any of the Kais could actually take him on, let alone kill him. It took him absorbing Grand Supreme Kaio or whatever to turn into Fat Buu and lose a lot of his evil.

Goku was confident that Gohan could beat Super at that point.
Kid Buu was only ever referred to as being the most dangerous Buu, and that was because he was a loose cannon. Super Buu is stronger by the sheer fact that he is the product of a Buu absorbing another Buu to get rid of the effects of the Grand Kai. Kid Buu is vanilla ice cream compared to Super Buu's chocolate and vanilla mix.
The strength ranking of the Buu's is Buuhan > Buutenks > Buuiccolo > Super Buu > Kid Buu > Fat Buu > The split Evil Buu > Current Buu
While inside of Buu Goku tells Vegeta that even with Buu going back to normal after losing all the absorbed people, that he was still far too strong for them both.
Nothing that was displayed would lead me to believe that. Super Buu was portrayed as far more powerful. Kid Buu just seemed more vicious.

No bruh, Kid Buu is weaker than Super Buu. Kid Buu is the most dangerous since he's nuts and can't be reasoned with, but he's not the most powerful.
Think of Buu as if he was Cell. Kid Buu is 1st form Cell, the original, hasn't absorbed anyone yet. Super Buu is Perfect Cell who absorbed the kais and now his good side isn't holding him back anymore. Goku could fight on par with Kid Buu as you just said, he also flat out said that he and Vegeta would get stomped by Super Buu and that they shouldn't even try.
SSJ3 Gotenks was never on par with Super Buu, when Gohan arrived Buu revealed he was just screwing around and stalling Gotenks until Gohan showed up.
Kid Buu also had the best healing/regeneration abilities out of any of the Buus.

That fight didn't really have any substance to it and there's a large range you could go with their strength so it doesn't really help.

I find it weird though, that Gohan has the most potential (as Vegeta stated).
So you can be born with Potential and somehow hit a barrier?
Why doesnt Goten or Trunks have such an Potential? Why is Gohan something special? IS he an anomaly?

Gohan's entire character arc was him having this insane power that he can not control and had to eventually get it under control or else he'll lose everyone he loves if he can't use it to protect them.
Gohan was meant to be the main character dammit

Yeah but why does he have and Goten doesnt?Atleast Goten and Trunks should come second in Potential..plus the even want and love to fight...
Maybe there'll be a spinoff where Gohan has to tackle the academic issues of challenging Japanese societal norms as well as new information he finds out. He goes on to face many rivals who try to steal his work and top officials who try to discredit him with training arcs consisting of him gathering and analyzing research.

They love to play around. They don't seem to have much interest in actually putting effort into training and getting stronger. Just look at Goten in Super sometimes handling Goku's job while Goku goes to train.
That's something that so far only happened in Dragonball Online. And he only does that after Goku's death, so it will never come into play in Super.

You already edited but yeah, Super Buu is a lot stronger. The only bonus Kid Buu has is unlimited energy. He physically can't get tired.
But it's cooool, because no one in Dragon Ball actually understands the stuff they use all through their body.
Tenshinhan is the man. One of, if not the, most underrated characters in all of Dragon Ball.

In Battle of Gods Beerus mentions there are 12 universes and they are in the 7th. I don't remember if it's said in the Super anime.

Do we need a reason for Gohan having an innate ability. Some people is academically inclined. Some people are great in sports. Some kid are expert in chess. Some kid from china can solve a rubix cube with his feet. Someone can pick up a new language very easily.
