In no particular order the top 5 would be Future Trunks, Gohan, Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo. Krillin, Cell, and Frieza are also up there.

Dragon Ball has a great cast of characters so it's really hard to pick only a couple.
 
Piccolo is my fave followed by Vegeta. In third I would say... Hmm, I guess Goku. I wanted a comedic character on the list so I was tempted to go with Satan, but I feel like Goku needs to be there. Show doesn't feel right when Goku is on the sideline and not involved in a fight.

Ever: Kid Goku, Oolong, Piccolo and Evil Fat Buu. Out of the current major characters in super it is probably Mr. Satan, Beerus and Whis.

He ain't a scrub.
His training with Freeza involved getting beaten within an inch of his life and getting regenerated in the regeneration machine just so it could happen again the next day. Every day.

I really hope Piccolo being in the tourney means he gets a power up rather than him just going against someone who is already around his level.

Piccolo and buu get 5 days to prepare and reach super blue levels. My bets are on goku buu or both failing the written portion and Gohan needing a rapid power up to act as a quick replacement.

Gohan. Teen Gohan and Mythic Gohan were GOAT when they got their power ups. Just loved the idea of a pacifist who never loved fighting, but always had the power to beat anyone when situations got dire and he needed to step it up.

Gohan > Goku > Goten > Videl > ChiChi

Fuck everyone else they're just jobbers.

IDK man. So much of the Namek/Android saga was fun because it was about the other characters getting major screen time.

I think Buu might still be pushed out of the tournament. Right after the scene where Piccolo was mentioned, he was immediately hanging around with Goku and Vegeta in all later scenes, but Buu didn't even appear in the chapter. I think he isn't going to become a main cast member.

This episode made it very likely that Whis has some kind of RoSaT equivalent, so a power up for Piccolo seems basically confirmed now.

This also explains why Vegeta mentioned Gohan's "potential" regarding the tournament, in spite of them being only 5 days from it.
 
If he fused with every Namekian on New Namek he'd be as strong as Whis probably.

Man these "How strong would X be if he fused with X!" DBZ talk feels like the good ol days.

That off hand explanation of how those two are on par with zarbon and dodoria is what's screwing this up for me. All that had to be said was that those two were better fighters than the previous henchmen, and it would have raised far fewer eyebrows. How the heck is someone who fought frieza's form 2 to a stand still, then in the very next story arc, gains a power up that would make him far stronger than frieza was in the previous arc, and then continued to train further beyond that point is losing to a guy like that?

Do they even have Scouters that can read power levels above Zarbon and Dodoria? Freeza's people can't actually evaluate power levels without Scouters.

I explained it a few posts above, he's far above Zarbon.
 
omg, Tagoma is scary, funny how they changed roles from the movie to this. he even tells Sorbet to shut up.O.o

But in the end he is still a fool, as Ginyu takes over his body to become the stronger Frieza henchman anyways

Yes, they designed one for Frieza before he fought against Vegeta on Namek.
Likely they have better ones by now.

Also, they finally revealed how Frieza got stronger by training.
 
Pretty boringly episode animation-wise they really liked reusing that same shot of those CGI Freeza members.

I'm liking all the story changes so far and kinda wish
Tagoma didn't get body swapped with Captain Ginyu but at least Gotenks is joining the fight.

"I'm sorry Gohan... I am." - I think the only times in the entire series that Vegeta has dared mutter "sorry" is in regards to Gohan.

Right now he seems more disappointed then anything but acknowledges that if Gohan wanted he could become stronger then any of them.

Edit:

They're newbies but I do really like Beerus and Whis.

Tien should get honorable mention as well. He just didn't get a lot of screen time.

I seem to like 17 and 18 more and more as time goes on.
