it shouldn't have, but it set a precedent. there only a couple of exceptions to the strongest dont always win but they were not from the result of "dont let your guard down"

Yep, what fuck it up was the fact that power levels were an actually accurate indicators of who would win in a fightt, more often than not. If your power level was higher than another guy you're just plain stronger because you're packing more chi. Speed seemed to scale with it as well, with the exceptions of USSJ.

The not letting down your guard shit, that at least makes sense to me. Just sounds like Nen aura mechanics now. I guess you can't take a chi attack if you don't guard with enough chi.

I'm confused. Why is Tagoma being compared to Buu? From what I understand he was Zarbon and Dodoria level when Frieza revivied. After training he's stronger than Ginyu which is still shit. He only took down Gohan because he let his guard down. Again, why do people think he's so strong when there's no evidence he is?

I don't watch previews so if it has to do with that then idk.

Well Freiza is familiar with Future Trunks, I suppose. But who else...? EDIT: Oh, right, Buu, I guess. But they don't really know his power level or whatever.

Advice for the future: don't just shit out three words in response to someone when you disagree with them. Kinda rude to not even explain why you disagree. :3

Chill. I thought I had bolded Buu for you. Thanks for your kind words of advice though. :3

Yes, it's the preview for the next episode.

Gohan's narration says that Tagoma is as powerful as himself, and he's shown beating up everybody, including Gohan and Piccolo. He also easily rips off Piccolo's arm.

I have not seen the episode/preview myself, but is Gohan in base or SSJ when Tagoma is fighting everyone?

Yamcha should arrive and inexplicably kick his ass.

I think that Super is getting better and is on the right track. It will be never be as awesome as DB or DBZ, but I will continue watching it. But I have a serious problem with the power levels. Okay suddenly there was someone who is way stronger than Buu, I could accept this. But Freezer and his best guy suddenly super strong? I know they both had a hard 4 month training session, but it kind of sucks that someone as Gohan is suddenly so weak, when he was the strongest Z fighter. Where is his mystic Power?
Even that Piccolo will most likely get trashed next episode is kind of annoying, I think he was way stronger at the end of the buu arc than freezer in his best times.

It's Dragon Ball. Quick power ups have always been the name of the game. Goku went from being beaten easily by Tao and Piccolo to beating them in a day or two. The Z fighters went from being nothing compared to Radditz to making him look average in a year. Goku went from having a power level of 8,000 to being able to fight against Frieza after a little bit of time training at 100x Earth's gravity.

If the story said Frieza and Tagoma did 1,000 pullups a day to get 1000x as strong I'd believe it.

AT was trying to tell us power levels were BS from the jump when the Earth warriors were surpassing their power levels. Super Saiyans and such making the scouter read 5. Lol

Freeza I can believe but his best guy being that strong is ridiculous. Gohan's nerf has already been covered enough times. Also ridiculous.

correct me if im wrong. roshi's power level has always stayed at 139 throughout the entirety of the dragonball/z series. the fact that he supposed held his own further supports how shit tier gohan has become/ been portrayed (the biggest nerf of all the nerfing, even bigger than the early buu saga nerf). tagoma who was noted to be even stronger than ginyu whose power level maxed at roughly 110,000. unless tagoma got at least 10-100x stronger, he shouldnt be able to give normal gohan a rough time let alone one shotting him with a weak ass looking tennis ball size of a energy ball. the theme don't let your guard down is absolute bs. in addition, not even piccolo should have a rough time, if you want to make a villain look tough, at least give them some goddamn credentials like, oh shit!!! this guy is almost as rough as cell etc. not some bs ginyu tier whom tien or krillin would be on par with.
this mini arc only get redeemed if vegeta gets the killing blow on frieza otherwise this series aint gonna redeem shit

tfs got it right ages ago

https://youtu.be/tRaGcdIOARo?t=15

maybe after this current arc there may be a chance for redemption

I actually don't know how Roshi is taking on Frieza's men, both in Super and RoF. Either he got much stronger, or Frieza's fodder got even weaker over the years. Don't think Roshi could have taken any of the scrubs with hand blasters back on Namek.

Roshi has been wearing weighted training gear recently, something we haven't seen him do since Goku was a kid. I think he's been quietly getting stronger.

Roshi probably saw how everyone who got stronger than him in Dragon Ball became chumps and then decided "hey, I'm immortal, so I might as well train."

Yeah, he accepts the new generation at the end of DB but no doubt all the world ending threats after that he might have been motivated to at least keep his training up. It's not like he has Launch to distract him anymore....

I agree it sucks that they had to nerf everyone into the ground just to make friezer's army something potentially perilous for the z fighters. It means all those huge battles throughout the series that caused them to reach new heights amount to nothing, because apparently you drop down to chump level if you're not constantly entrenched in it everyday (unless you're a villain). I can sort of buy gohan dropping off from lack of training, but I don't see piccolo as the type to have retired. He should be just as strong, if not stronger, than he has ever been.

I hate gohan, but even I was disappointed by them rubbing salt in the wound by giving him an extra ass whippin' that wasn't in the movie. It looked like he was about have a decent moment, too. That powered up bear hug was nothing to him and he was giving a 'last chance' sort of speech then got yamcha'ed. I wonder if they will keep the scene where it happens to goku or if that replaces it.

I don't think the ending will differ from the movie or that vegeta will get the kill shot this go around. They hinted at Whis' time reverse in a previous episode, so they are definitely going to show it, and I can't imagine it going down a different way than in the movie.

Maybe fusing with Kami caused him to chill out. He's technically a completely different person after becoming whole again.

There's nothing in Super suggesting that Piccolo is weaker though.

In the movie, there's that stupid line about Shisami that wasn't even in Toriyama's script - but the same movie also showed that Piccolo was wearing weighted clothing though, so there's nothing at all suggesting that he had gotten lazy, it was just a stupid line.

If Buu is fighting in this upcoming tournament, I do hope he gets some cool upgrades.
Buu right now isn't particularly exciting considering he's so much weaker than his evil fat form.

If he gets to god like levels of power, I hope he gets a neat explanation as to how he gets so strong. I look forward to seeing him fighting at a high level, regenerating, and using his crazy powers to terrorize his foes. Majin Buu is an awesome character. But he's a big softie now. He needs to get some attitude back.

The Buu explanation was so whack lol

Buu simply doesn't care unless a threat is immediate.

He doesn't particularly feel compelled to protect Earth and he probably has no idea who Freeza even is.

they should have elaborated more on freezas training. how does a few months training with a scrub power you up that much...as well as powerup the scrub. you'd have to hold back the entire time so as to not kill him. is he like a saiyan where he gets a power-up every time he gets a near death experience?

Some of my favorite moments in Dragon Ball are when Krillin surprises everyone (and sometimes himself) with how much he has improved as a fighter.

- The 23rd tournament where he does surprisingly well vs Piccolo
- Taking out a whole group of Saibamen with that homing attack, and somewhere along the way he developed Kienzan as well
- And now the new thing with Freeza's men

All kinda heartwarming moments. Can't help but feel proud of the little guy.

I wonder if Goku's near-death experience during his fight with Frieza will give him the edge over Vegeta again.

To join the tournament, Vegeta suggested that all entrants take a written test to rule out mindless monsters.

damn, I need to start reading the manga. Ultimate humiliation: Gohan takes the test and fails. Now he is weak and stupid. I love Gohan, but kinda want that to happen for reasons...

It's been speculated that Buu might absorb Gohan. It would make him smart enough to pass the test, but he would probably become a weaker fighter in the process.

Alternatively, Buu could just use his magic to copy off someone else's test.

Gohan's not entering the tournament. Goku said he would be a worthless addition to their team lol

I'd love to see a not evil Super Buu if that's possible.

Although a not evil Super Buu might be boring, but Buu is already boring, so.

Really? Goddamn, that is just harsh. Goku always wanted Gohan to tag along, seems he has given up. This is just...wow.

Gohan gonna get that power up he deserves just ya'll wait. Vegeta hinting that his dormant power is stronger than all of them is the first sign.
