Indivisible: Valkyrie Profile/Metroid, Indiegogo, PC/Mac/Linux/PS4/XB1 -- funded!

A great end to a long day.
Been keeping a very close eye on this, but have been super careful with crowdfunding so had not yet contributed.

Put in for far more than I knew I should with the Australian exchange rate, but fuck, I do want this game and do want Lab Zero to continue making games.

If you do, you can emulate the NTSC PS1 version through ePSXe or get the PSP version for a PSP (or hacked Vita with PSP exploit) or emulate that through PPSSPP. Here's my recent shots with ePSXe and the Natural vision shader:

VP2 can also be emulated through PCSX2 with some stunning results. Essential:
Enable Special Game Fixes -> Tri-ace Game Fix. Set Skipdraw=1 to avoid scan lines in cutscenes. The first forest area is messed up, but only for the two screens you have to go through. You can enable the minimap to navigate the two screens or alternatively set the render mode to software, which supposedly let you play the area without any artifacts and bugs. Here are some of the results

Thanks for the tips!

Rav, once the dust has settled, will you be willing to share what you and the team has invested (not just monetarily, but effort) in the past 2 months for this funding success?

I think LabZero has gone way and above in terms of really putting the insane effort to prove to potential backers, from prototype to updates, etc to maximise this, and I can't imagine it was cheap or anything less than really really difficult.

It was difficult to see the struggle and big ???s in this achieving its funding on a regular basis. Congrats.

I wish you didn't put those VP2 screenshots in quote boxes cause I can't quote them now.

I played and loved VP1 back in the day and never got around to playing VP2. If buy the shit out of that game as a PS2 Classic, even more so knowing it natively supports 16:9 widescreen! But alas....

The prototype, according to them, was about three months of work before they even started the campaign. I'd like to hear the rest, too.

Yeah, I'd love a small post-mortem article on the campaign, if time allows. That'd make for a pretty interesting read.

And congrats on the funding, Ravi and Lab0 folks!

Congratulations, Ravi. I think this is probably one of the hardest-won crowdfunds maybe ever, and you did it. You guys really did it. I wish the best of things for you guys (and some stretch goals getting knocked out too!)

First off, major congrats! I sadly cannot up my pledge this month, but I've seen a few talks about slacker-backer? Any info on what this involves and if we'll be able to upgrade any tiers if we're already donated? Or is that hoping for too much (I kinda want that plushie...).

Well done, Lab Zero Games! I'm looking forward to more information and the stream in the days to come. We've reached another journey to begin~

As far as I can recall, the prototype cost them $250K

Truth be told I was expecting Volgarr to be the last guest as he fits better than Red.

Oh yes, indeed. I need Scandinavian representation. :P

I think I'd just like to see a tall Norse barbarian with more.. realistic muscle proportions, haha. Maybe a muscle gut instead of those shiny abs.
Variation in body shapes is nice.

But anyway, Rav knows what is better for his game than me. It is his game afterall.

Well, this was nice to wake up to. A shame I couldn't be part of the simultaneous euphoria, but hey, not having to worry about the game is good.

Big congrats to Lab Zero! The journey to get this thing funded has kept me on the edge of my seat for a while. I still haven't pledged yet - just a couple more things to tie up - but I've come to think more and more of how important it is that Indivisible is funded. It's partly because of your drive to make the game you want to - one that as you've stated yourselves would be difficult to get full publisher backing. It's partly because of your awesome effort to stay transparent the whole way though - on top of the excellent demo. And of course, its because the game looks phenomenal and hits all of the right notes with me. It's good to know that the games I enjoy will continue to have a place in the gaming community.

So yeah, what a victory. Once more, congratulations, and I'm really looking forward to what you guys have in store for us!

I sort of thought that's where we'd go with the bara dude, but Jon took it in an entirely different direction.

Like, here's the pic of my personal trainer that I sent for reference:

Ooh, I see. Yes, that is is a lot better. I think I just sometimes miss the middle-road between "lean male" and "incredibly buff male", haha.

But please don't take it as whining. You still boast one of the most varied and interesting character rosters in an RPG I've seen in.. forever!

Never posted in the thread but I have been following it closely since the campaign started and am quite happy it's a success.

Congrats Lab Zero! ^_^

But... I payed for it to be made and own about 0.02% of it! That's how things work, right?

Why not just go to the gym?

Congrats for finally getting off Namek! Go nap for a few weeks, you've all earned it.

Seconding the requests for a campaign post-mortem, also--you guys ran the campaign the way I'd always hoped someone would, so watching it struggle for so long was both perplexing and demoralising; I'd love to know how you guys evaluate your own campaign now that the hardest part is over.

I'm late to this, since I was working at the time, but I'm ecstatic to see that this campaign has met it's goal. I've been following this since before the campaign began, so I've been here through the highs and the lows. I would post a train gif, but I'm on mobile right now.

So, I'll just end with this. Congratulations to Lab Zero, and to those who were doubting that the campaign would make it:

Believe. Always believe.

Oh, I'm so stoked that Indivisible got funded. You guys (...and myself, I suppose, though my contribution was minimal) really came through in the end! Congratulations to Lab Zero and all the other parties involved!

But... I payed for it to be made and own about 0.02% of it! That's how things work, right?

I think that's obviously how it works!
I'd like 0.02% of Norse barbarian please.
Who knows - if we all band together with the same tenacity Lab Zero showed all through this KS campaign, we might be able to create a whole 1% of one! :p

Well, congratulations.

I almost thought for a second this got the wind ripped right out of its sails by Exist Archive being announced almost immediately after.

Get that man playing with a kitten or puppy, you probably got another 20k in slacker backing.

He has a very cute German Shepherd / Akita mix, so we can just have him bring him in.

Haha, for us that was like "Man, really? After all this time NOW they decide to do that?"

But Exist Archive is out in Japan next week, and Indivisible is two years away.

If anything, we see it as a good thing - hopefully it'll make a lot more people realize these games are fun and want more.

So an attractive man playing with his cute dog?

I'm sorry about this .gif, but you know..

Congrats on the success guys, you absolutely deserved it.

Now if there's any justice in the world, ZONE's design of 2BF's Baz will win out in their mini-contest thing. PlaugeofGripes' design was pretty neat looking as well though.

So happy to see this funded.
Now if only we could get some Irish representation. A dullahan perhaps?

I was actually considering a dullahan for my design an enemy tier... right up until I cancelled that tier because I suddenly needed money floating :(
We can dream~

(Seriously though, you don't get much more metal than a headless horseman that uses a human spine as a whip and sprays blood on anyone who sees them to mark them for death.)

Congrats, dudes!

I'll be honest, didn't think it would make it. I'm ready for my plate of crow. Will be the most happy crow eating ever.

Not gonna lie, didn't think this would happen after the lackluster performance of the kickstarter in the first three quarters of its life.

Then the last quarter came and just kind of wrecked all expectations. I'm not sure this thing is going to make 1.9 mil, but I would love to see an animation in the LZ style.

I really like the idea of Lab Zero as a company and wish them all the best.
