People seem unusually, genuinely defensive about this particular superhero.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact Black Panther is the first black bona fide superhero in the MCU that isn't a sidekick and a character with an extremely loyal fanbase because he's the shit.

EW gonna EW.

It would be remiss not to post their Interstellar cover in every EW thread.

Maybe I'm just being dumb but can someone explain to me what's bad about this cover?

Black Panther in that shot looks on a level with Batman in BvS and Deadpool.

I so wish more characters would get to look like their comic book counterparts.

Looking at you, X-Men...

Marvel has been building it since Avengers 1.

There was always tension there.

it's pretty amazing how far they've telegraphed this... it's been brewing so well, i can't wait

Lets not pretend most of gaf didnt know who he was before his movie announcement though.

comicGAF knows.

comicGAF always knows...

praise be

He's a benevolent Dr. Doom-tier character (in reputability and in power) and one of the most comic book famous people of color not named Jon Stewart / MCU Nick Fury at best, and a dude with enough powers and traits to solo any handful of named protags - albeit written by curmudgeony old white writers that don't know how to relate at worst.

Basically, imagine all the caping folk do for Batman, but for a character that actually deserves it.

This feels like movie stanning shenanigans.
