I haven't caught much NBA over the past few seasons but it's great to see him recognized for his play. I remember the year he was drafted, it seemed like everybody was trying to find a reason why they didn't need a ridiculously great shooter on their team. Minnesota taking two guards directly before him (Are either of them still around?) has got to go down as one of the worst draft decisions in history, even if he didn't set the league on fire immediately out of the gates.
Whooooooaaa
I'd like to see a chart of most threes up to this point in a season for some extra context
Are you kidding? Curry was by no means a sure thing coming out of Davidson.
Pretty sure those would likely fall under one of those other lines underneath.
He wasn't a sure thing because teams found reasons to ignore him because GMs love to feel smart. So instead Minnesota drafted both Johnny Flynn and Ricky Rubio to play his position and Golden State gets to still laugh about it today. I'm not saying he should have been #1, but teams talked themselves out of somebody they knew could do one thing great because they wanted to draft on potential.
Curry is ridiculous. I hope Golden State somehow goes undefeated going into Christmas. The Christmas day game versus the Cavs would be insane.
Never seen anything like him before. The thing is, players have to press and bite on his pumpfakes 30 FEET out. So, what do you think happens, when you mix in lethal handles and all around floor game? He's a cheat code.
He has way too much space to make his throw. They should shove someone in his face all game long and we will see if he can still make the throws.
I hate when analysts talk about how you stop Curry. Yep 29 NBA teams just can't figure out that you have to 'body him up'. But you, studio guy, have it figured out.
He's just too good.
You don't think that's what teams try every time they play him? Dude has such a quick release he can make space himself and his pumps open up other players for wide open shots.
There could be other cases of guys that trailed off, or didn't complete a season. There's lot of freak statistical runs over short periods by guys who didn't keep it up over the long haul
Not that I think Curry isn't going to set the record
Curry has 100+ 3s in 20 games, the second fastest player to 100 in a season was Ray Allen in 31 games.
Also, more graphs:

What are you even supposed to do against this guy. Fuck.
Stephen Curry has transcended reality. His stroke is perfection.
Uncontested, sure. That's not a smart shot even if Steph is taking it.I want to see Steph pull up from halfcourt during a game. I came across an article interviewing their player development coach, Brandon Fraser and he said that Steph regularly drills and hits the halfcourt shot at 60% during practice. Apparently he can pull up for it just like he'd pull up for a normal jumper.
Johnny Flynn was a dumb pick but Ricky Rubio at the time was an incredibly young prospect who had already proven himself in the highest level of professional play outside the NBA. Rubio isn't really a bust either. He's a really good pass first PG. Coming out of Davidson, there were concerns that Steph couldn't convert to PG. I mean for every Steph Curry, there are many many more college shooters that couldn't hack it in the league. For example.
well they could start by picking him up before he crosses halfcourt
this crap of giving him 2-3 feet of space is lawl

So many in the Minnesota sports media talk about the foolishness of taking Rubio over Steph. It was Flynn that was the real mistake. I remembered being elated for a few minutes that the Wolves would have Rubio and Curry. Then they took fucking Flynn. Pretty typical for the Kahn era of course. And as much as this current core is fun, I would've loved to see Rubio, Steph, Love, healthy Pek and literally anyone else at the 3. That would've been a fun lineup.Johnny Flynn was a dumb pick but Ricky Rubio at the time was an incredibly young prospect who had already proven himself in the highest level of professional play outside the NBA. I dunno if Jimmer is a good example. He's been straight up murdering the D-League.
But that could just mean there's a huge gap between the D-League and the NBA. :V
I love the fact that once the ball is leaving his hand, he's backpedaling because he knows the ball is going in.
Then you risk looking like this:

Warriors will sign Kevin Durant in the off season and win 6 straight titles.
WE HAVE NO PROOF THAT SHOT WENT IN!!
