right but my preference would definitely not be to install JazzDLz or whatever they're calling their client and given that it's free i don't think it would be too much of a hurdle to accommodate that by making it available drm-free through, say, gog, humble, desura, steam, shinyloot, origin, uplay, battle.net, intel appup, greenhouse gaming, or any of the other services that already exist and would be less superfluous than epic making their own client

Oh, right. I misread your post. Yeah, I would've much preferred any of those options but I'm not gonna argue with free.
