Couldn't find a thread and was too afraid of making a new one in fear that one DID exist...

iPhone 6C or iPhone 7 Mini will only have an 8MP camera with a 1.2 MP front facing, and lacks 3D touch. WTF? There are other rumors posted on the forums as well.

As someone with a 5S and was really excited for the iPhone 7 Mini rumors...this has me bummed. I really am hoping for an A10, 2GB of RAM, and with 12MP camera or bust (with 3D touch as well), Apple. Why does Apple need to fragment their lineup? the 4 inch screen model doesn't need to be super budget friendly. I love the portability of my 5S, this blows.

what were you expecting? It's their budget phone. There is little to no interest in the high end market for small phones anymore. It would be a complete waste of resources to make one. No one does now for a reason.

Seems kinda pointless. Why not just buy the 5s?

because those with a 5S (myself included) would like to buy the next generation iPhone in a comforable form factor that allows 1 handed use and enjoys portability?

if it matters, im 6 foot and have bigger than average hands. :P

That's actually the whole point. To create a slightly lower entry point for people into the iOS ecosystem with a new device to generation buzz vs just still selling the older models at a discount.

I'd prefer a 4" phone if it had 3D touch and a smaller price tag. The rest of the specs don't really matter anymore. If it doesn't have 3D touch then the value is less because it's pretty clear that's where the software is going.

Everybody is forgetting about this:

iPod Touch 2015 model has: A8, M8, 8 megapixel rear and 1.2 megapixel front cameras.

If there is a new small iPhone, it will be the iPod Touch 2015 with phone capability and Touch ID. Nothing more.

Dang that might be overkill if it was an A10

Funny thing was back during the 3GS/4 time, I dreamed of the iPhone being that slim as the iPod touch haha. That pic just reminded me of that lol

But why? I realize I'm speaking ideally here, and I won't get everything I want, but ideally I'd love Apple to ship 4.0"/4.7"/5.5" phones with roughly the same specifications and feature set.

I'd love the iPhone 7 to offer the same phone in three sizes.

Oh I completely understand that. I think it would be great too cause I hear a lot of people saying the 6/6S is too big for them. I just don't expect apple to put the latest chip in a "lower sized" iPhone cause something tells me they will try to push people to get the higher end phone so they might do something like that.
I hope I'm wrong though, cause that would be nice to see

More interesting to see will be the battery life on the smaller 4 inch version if they go that way. Cause so far the 6plus to 6 has a fairly high difference in battery life

The 5/5S is still far away my favorite iPhone design. The 4/4S is a runner-up.

Same. The design of the 5/5S is incredible.

For those who are saying that people who buy the 4 inch screen model deserve the budget non-flagship internals....WTF. I'd love a flagship, and I would love to upgrade to the 6S (more so hold off until the 7 comes out!!), but...I just love the portability of the 5S.

The iPhone 5C was only $100 cheaper, so if they sell this rumored phone for $150-200 off that's actually a fairly big deal.

I'd rather than they basically kept all the features the same across each model so all you were doing was choosing physical size, color and capacity (where feasible; obviously larger batteries and optical stabilization seem to require certain sizes) but I can't really fault their strategy that much.

I'm going to be keeping my 6 for at least another year, probably two, so this is all pretty irrelevant to me now. We'll see what a 4 inch phone looks like then, if they're making them.

I should have read the article first - they mention the "curved edge like 6". Ah well.

For those who didn't own a 6 (but used my mothers a couple of times...), can you explain the curved edge? The screen isn't curved. 0__0 Anyone got a comparison?

There isn't a market for this. There is just way way way too few people who'd want a high end small phone. Every major manufacturer abandoned this market for a reason, it's too small to warrant attention. You got to accept its a dead product line for smartphones at this point and is never going to come back.

I really don't care about the camera that much, or 3D touch. Just please have otherwise good specs :(

Lol at people triggered by small phones, BTW.

So 5.5 and under.

I've owned a Galaxy S4, nexus 5, 6, and galaxy s6 edge. 4.7-5.5 inches is not easy for one handed mode.

However...if the 7 mini or 6C really is a budget device, I suppose I will have to suck it up and go for the standard sized 7. No biggie, really. However, it would have been nice to see a flagship 4 inch iPhone 7. :P Hopefully the bezels become thinner.

For those of you that have a 6S, how is 3D touch? Seems gimmicky to me.

Yeah, I'd like to see a 4 inch screened iPhone with good specs and camera, but apparently it won't happen. :/

I'm going back to Android if the 6C sucks. The Xperia line has really nice compact phones. I switched to iPhone in part because I wanted a smaller phone, lol.

Why do people keep saying the 7 mini?

Also, why are people surprised by this? Only surprising thing is the 4 inches.

Outside of that, the 5C was basically the iPhone 5 repackaged.

This is the iPhone 6 repackaged.

Sooo....link in OP is bad and hey, it's a rumor post on Macrumors!

Let's check the fact quality of the Macrumors page that I could find:

"sketchy corroboration" = check!
"release date first half of the year" = check!
"NFC added!" = check!

Smells a little funky, that's all I'm saying. Could Apple release this phone? Sure. But suggesting it will launch really early (1), add a feature they don't use on their other phones (2), drop a new feature they want all their other phones to use (3) and ship it at a small size (4) seems like a lot of questionable rumors to bundle together.

If I had to guess I'd think it's what these things usually are - either completely fake or an Apple test model that never made it to market.

I thought the rumor was that this (iphone 6c) was coming out alongside the iphone 7 late in the year?

I think that was also posted on several apple fansites. I'd love to see a 7 mini with specs and camera that match the normal 4.7 inch model, haha.

I really hope the 6C is better than this. I want a smaller phone, not a worse phone. After having the Note II for a couple of years I don't want a phablet and regular size phones are too big now.
